“Best The Offense Has Looked Since I’ve Been Here”

August 23rd, 2018

Big talk about Dirk Koetter’s offense on display for the nation

Joe can’t take the wait any longer.

We’re just 17 days from the regular-season kickoff in New Orleans and Joe wants to see the Bucs offense ring up the scoreboard.

Mike Evans, via the CBS Sports video below, offers up his share of bold takes about the Bucs offense and seems to think it’s about to explode. Evans says it’s never looked better and Ryan Fitzpatrick is little dropoff from America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

CBS has the national broadcast of the Bucs-Lions preseason “dress rehearsal” game tomorrow night at 8 p.m. So the Bucs are getting some big-time attention.

Enjoy!

“Who is calling the plays friday night?”

    #KOBE&MONK BFF

  2. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

How good you think you are and how much talent doesn’t mean much. They have to figure out what it takes to win and do it consistently no matter who they play, that is what will matter most this year.

    Don’t tell me, show me.

    Go Bucs!!!!

  3. 813bucboi Says:

the past 2years we’ve looked good between the 20’s…..I want to see us “look good” in the red zone….

I remember sweezy saying last year during PS, “with all these weapons we should no problem scoring” or something to that effect…..lol….and then dirk happened….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  4. Pickgrin Says:

“I want to see us “look good” in the red zone….”

Roger that 813. We could be last in the league in “yards” for all I care – but if we are top 5 in SCORING TDS – we will be playoff bound regardless of how that comes about.

  5. El Buco Realisto Says:

The “real” fans also remember what the offense looked like before Dirk Koetter!!!!!! when it was loser incompetent lovie’s vision!!!!!!! When the were an embarrassing 29th in scoring offense (17.3Pts per game) and ranked 30th in yards!!!!!!! The “real” fans know how far this team has come from the dark embarrassing days of loser smith!!!!!!!!!! Now we are seeing a budding team that we all can be proud of!!!!!!!!!!

#trust the coaches!!!!!!!! Fix the “real” problem, the roster!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Billy_43 Says:

Does anybody know Rojo’s Twitter name.

I feel like we all need to sent him tweets, encouraging him to go off tonight.

I truly understand people being disgruntled with what he has done so far, but just 1 65 yard TD run and he will be right back to #2 and everyone will understand why we got him.

Yes, he has been with the backup O Line a lot, but there are a few where he just wasn’t patient enough.

Being Indecisive is his biggest weakness IMO.

One of my favorite runs in the NFL is when the whole line pulls to one side and the defense recognizes it, and are way ahead of the play, so the RB notices, and cuts back off tackle to wide open space. If Rojo had seen that with a tad more patience, he would have scored easily. 11:55 mark of the 2nd quarter against Tennessee. Again at the 5:31 mark he cuts outside when the perfect block was on up the middle.

All this is to say that IF, IF Rojo can add that last element to this offense, then the Bucs could truly be a dominant offense.

    Like scoring 40+Dominant.

  7. Reality_43 Says:

Sorry, meant to say being too Decisive.
Can’t get away with just speed and pre snap decisions in the NFL.

  8. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Realist

    Glad our offense isn’t 29 th…

Now about that 32nd ranked D.. Which at the end of the day ultimately is DK’s responsibility as well.

  9. TampaBayAllDay Says:

@Fakest bringing up Lovie but what about the 32nd ranked pass defense last year…under “fan” favorite mike smith…

  10. Bucsfanman Says:

Who cares what our rank is in any category?! “We play the game to win!”
Wins are the only stat that really matters. Win “pretty”, win “ugly”. Whatever! Just freaking win!

  11. 813bucboi Says:

at least we had a running game under lovie….that went to the corn fields with lovie once dirk took over….

and what has dirk’s average been with all these #weaponsforwinston….19points per game….that’s an embarrassment!!!!!!

no wonder dirks on the “HOTSEAT”….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  12. Lord Cornelius Says:

We only had a run game when Dirk took over as OC tho under Lovie.

Under Lovie; without Dirk; we were 29th in rushing yards with in 2014.

We were – pre Dirk – the worst team in the NFL under Lovie – hence the #1 draft pick. That was after we spent a boat load in FA on guys Lovie wanted and after he had spoke about how the fans didn’t need to be patient and that we were ready to compete immediately lol.

    GO BUCS!

  13. buddy Says:

@El Buco Realisto How bad is your memory?? UMM the offense before #KluelessKoetter became head coach was……. #KluelessKoetter since he was the OC for Lovie after the Jeff Tedford/Marcus Arroyo situation. So he’s been in control of the offense. Its all on him and he finally has the offense the “Best”?? What the hell has he been doing all these other years???? Ok #KluelessKoetter you got the “Best” offense now so how many more wins does that equate to????? Better be a lot cause its your ship and you got the “BEST”. Get it done or else bye bye #KluelessKoetter no more excuses ie- hurricanes, no indoor facility, injuries etc.

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!

  14. Dapostman Says:

Could it be that teams have the ‘book’ on Koetter and his offensive tendencies where Monken is a brand new canvas? Maybe that might explain some of the progress the offense has had these past two games. Here’s hoping it continues into the regular season.

    #Get After It!

  15. 813bucboi Says:

folks talking about the offense being “productive” this PS needs to pump the brakes…..who game plans for PS games?…..NO ONE!!!!!!…..team are work on themselves…..

lets see how this “best offense” performs when DC’s scheme and game plan for them….until then, crickets!!!!!!!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  16. richbucsfan Says:

If talk won games the Bucs would be Super Bowl winners. Sheesh, just play to win and actually win, will ya?

  17. SOEbuc Says:

I think no doubt we’re gonna get more red zone TDs this year. I think Koetter and Monken are both good offensive coaches and after last year started drawing up a million new red zone plays. Now all they got to do is call them correctly in the right situation. That’s what determines what good coaches are.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

It’s just the preseason but the playcalling has mostly been better than it’s been since Dirk became HC and had to split his coaching duties. I say mostly since Jones has been tanked by awful run blocking in obvious running situations, but outside of that the offense has looked great when Barber is running or Winston is passing.
