On the point that the details have not leaked out and that it must not be favorable to Jameis, or his camp would leak it?

Without knowing the details of the negotiated deal with the NFL, you cannot make that assumption.

Consider this. If the NFL failed to find guilt but did not want to have the public image of going easy on such things, they would have to negotiate with Winston in order to get him to keep his mouth shut.

If his camp leaked details, the NFL could retaliate. REmember, they said more games could be added if he did not meet the terms of the agreement. Who is to say counseling is the only term?

So the NFL could have taken steps to prevent the details from leaking out.

    ^^^WRONG.

When these stories are pushed to public opinion due to the lack of details you can either wait for the truth to come out or assume.

I love how you think there’s some sort of specific criteria to be able to ASSUME something.

Maybe stop posting, save yourself the embarrassment.

    Jjones,

My statement above makes it clear…if you just consider the facts, you have reason to believe.

Anything not factual is supposition, and therefore not fact, which should not have merit. That’s life, pal. It might not justify your opinion, but that’s the way things really are.

Assuming is tantamount to believing unsubstantiated gossip. You read, watch or listen to the media, which never provides unbiased, strictly factual information anymore, and you form your opinions based on what they claim to know, even thought they do not provide sources or evidence.

And because you hear those opinions so many times, you come to believe they are fact. But in truth, that facts are much different. You just have to take the time to look at them and not take other’s word for them, and you have to do so without pre-judgment.

And that’s where you probably hit a brick wall, because you cannot form an unbiased assessment of the facts.

The ‘criteria’ as you put it, is not to assume, but to determine with the information available, without twisting the facts to suit your personal agenda or opinion.

The NFL has no such obligation.

The courts have sided more than once that Goodell is both judge and jury. He can rule however he sees fit so long as it is within parameters of the NFLPA labor agreement.
