Not To Be Nitpicky, But…

Talks offense.
It isn’t just Jameis.
That’s basically what Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was saying when he was asked about the accuracy, or lack thereof, in underwear football this offseason of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.
Koetter admitted Jameis isn’t where he needs to be at this point in underwear football. But guess what, Koetter added, the whole offense isn’t exactly sharp.
“When you’re going in shorts like we are, the speed, I personally don’t put a whole bunch into it because we’re working on different stuff, we’re working on whatever we’re emphasizing right now,” Koetter said. “I’d say, just in general, that we’re not where we need to be but I don’t think that’s any big sharp criticism.
“We need to be better across the board, offensively, than we are right now. That’s not an indictment of Jameis. So, I don’t think it makes much of difference compared to where he was last year.”
Joe has made this point but not for a while. Joe noticed that Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com brushed off criticism of the alleged lack of chemistry between Jameis and DeSean Jackson on bombs. Smith said, and Joe made this point some time ago, last year there didn’t seem to be any issue between the two connecting on passes, even when the pads came on in August.
So as Koetter seemed to be suggesting, don’t look for a razor blade to slit your wrists just yet if the Bucs aren’t lighting things up in June.

Like Joe has said many times, if the bomb ain’t working throw short to him and let him fly. I don’t see any reason he shouldn’t get a 1000 yds that way.

I’ll set the number at 50 regarding the number of times the Joe’s use the term underwear football during OTAs. If there is an over-under, I’ll take the over.

You play like you practice. Sloppy and soft practices produce sloppy and soft teams. Looks like the 2018 season will remind everyone of the movie Ground Hog Day. A sloppy offensive combined with a soft defense = deja vu.
