Bucs Want Jensen To Start Fights

June 7th, 2018

Brawler.

It caught a lot of attention last week when America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, mentioned on SiriusXM NFL Radio about center Ryan Jensen’s nasty streak. Jameis said it was so intense that Jensen and Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy have gotten into it a couple of times already.

In underwear football no less!

And from the keyboard of Jenna Laine of ESPN, Jensen confesses that the Bucs want Jensen to start hassles.

With his fiery-red hair, penchant for barbecuing thick slabs of meat and affinity for starting fights in training camp, center Ryan Jensen is exactly who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wanted leading the charge this offseason in revamping their offensive line. And they’re relying on him to help bring a whole new mentality.

“When they brought me in, that’s one thing they wanted me to do, to push that more,” said Jensen, 27. “Granted, we’re in OTAs, right now, but I can tell [that] guys’ mentalities are starting to get more to that vinegary-type attitude. I think it’s gonna change and I think it’s gonna be good.”

The scrapes with GMC are not by accident Jensen suggested. While with the Crows, Jensen, even as a rookie, was known to go after Haloti Ngata in training camp hassles.

“I just went in and it’s one of those things where you pick the fight with the biggest and baddest guy on the team and you go with it,” said Jensen.

Laine even had a quote from long-time Crows stud linebacker Terrell Suggs, not a man to trifle with himself. Suggs, per Laine, called Jensen a “savage.”

On the surface, Joe thinks this is all cool as hell. But as Joe told his good friend Rock Riley on WHBO-AM 1040 yesterday, Joe can find a nasty guy in a biker bar in Pinellas Park. But can he block?

Later this week, Joe will offer what former Bucs offensive lineman Ian Beckles has to say about Jensen getting under GMC’s skin.

Joe still is lobbying the Bucs for coaches to have ox-strong rookie first round pick Vita Vea go toe-to-toe with Jensen to break the rookie in the right way.

There’s a difference between moxy and stupidity, and the line can be razor thin. Hopefully the players are clear on all of it. We don’t any goofball suspensions or game-killing penalties.

Jensen picture is probably him being tested for sleep apnea.

BBB, I am 100% sure that is a picture from a sleep study

It looks like a selfie taken during a sleep study test for sleep apnea.

Glad to have this mauler on our Oline! If the pic is a result of Jensen’s post-fight injuries I just have to wonder what happened to the other dude. Viscous, nasty, mean. Yeah, I like hearing that about our studs. Not a Suh dirty player type, don’t want want that on our team. Still, I kinda do like stuff like what Sapp used to say about ‘stepping on someone’s hand’ on the way back to the huddle. Not to mention skipping through the other teams stretching routine. DK wants a ‘Bad ass team’? Yeah, we got that. Wanna get nasty? Put on a helmet, line up and come get some. Somewhere out on the road Joe Hawley must be grinning ear to ear!

I agree with JP_09: bring in Incognito to literally fight for the RG spot.

NO more of O&D Line softness, and kinder & gentler players.

The Bucs need some serious snarl.

This team has been so soft in the lines Bucs fans think soft is normal. Well, it is…for losers.

  12. Dooshlarue Says:

Oh my…….. I hope Ol” Softie doesn’t get too many boo- boos.

  13. Capt.Tim Says:

Would still love to see Ritchie Incognito here. Thats an intense all pro, who would solve our RG problems in a big way

  14. Capt.Tim Says:

The problem with this team wasnt that its soft. Its that it was stupid.
Licht has spent this off season making the team smarter.
Incognito would help with that also

  15. BringBucsBack Says:

Yeah, I guess I look similar at 4am after 4 hours of sleeplessness and 2 wide awake. Been there, done that…but the eyes though!? I Imagine hockey goalies look like this after a game!

I posted ^^^that^^^. Not sure why it shows “Anonymous”…

So does Joe think Vita Vea is soft? It’s not the rookie that Jensen needs to break, it’s GMC. Hopefully by the start of the season GMC won’t have that patented affectionate smile on his face.

Did you not hear what Incognito did? He wont be playing anywhere again. Sounds like he is on the super sauce or the concussions are breaking him down. He has lost too many marbles. About Jensen. Bring it on big boy!! Thats exactly what this team needs! Beat em up and beat em down. Glad licht and dirk have figured it out!
