Bounceback For Bucs

May 27th, 2018

Reason to smile.

The Bucs, per CBSSports.com, have an over/under this season of 6.5 wins. And one employee of the Tiffany Network believes a safe bet would be cash on the over.

That would be Will Brinson who, in the process of touting the Bucs, called out one of his colleagues who happens to be a notorious hater of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, dropping the word “Lunatics” on those who don’t believe in Jameis.

“I do,” Brinson said of his view that the Bucs should be over 6.5 wins this fall.

“Jameis Winston was quietly better than people think. When you go back and look what he did down the stretch, and what his statistics ended up being overall, he kind of had an underrated season.”

Brinson also believed the moves Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht made will be enough to fix the defense.

Licht did a “tremendous job through the draft, through free agency, through a trade, of shoring up the defensive line.”

Gonna win a half of a game? I’ll say seven at least.

  2. Tony from L.A. Says:

Been saying the above about Jameis for months.

Just like I was saying all along…

FIX THE TRENCHES, FIX THE BUCS!!

The problem isn’t Jameis. Uneducated fams think so. National pundits who spend all of 5 minutes analyzing the Bucs think so.

Smart fans and pundits that pay attention know the truth.

The TRENCES have been fixed. Watch the Bucs shine.

  3. Lamarcus Says:

Good Qb on a bad team but sadly even a lunatic should know that.

  4. LostinPA Says:

7-9 is my floor this year too. That should still get people fired.

  5. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I’ll say with all the talent we’ve added. ……we’re good for another two wins as well

  6. Couch Fan Says:

Ill wait until I see how the DLine gels before I make any predictions. This team far to often underachieves for me to believe everything is ok now.

  7. Dave Pear Says:

I’m going to wait for preseason results, but on paper this team looks like a 10-6 team to me.

  8. Pickgrin Says:

I fully support this entire coaching staff being retained this year.

That said – If the Bucs don’t win at least 8 games in 2018 – unless half the starters including the QB are on IR – then Koetter and his entire staff should be fired.

Even with the “tough schedule” – there is enough talent on this roster to win at least 10 games.

  9. Bnomo Says:

    11/5.

  10. Alanbucsfan Says:

Need 26 offensive pts per game
Need 110 – 120 yds rushing per game
    Cut turnovers in half
Stop lining up rb’s as wide receivers – dumb, overthinking coach bs- you have plenty of good receivers
Defense focused on stopping the run- force 3rd and long situations
    Make fg’s
    Special teams maintain field position
Play the rookies- let the talent develop

  11. Destinjohnny Says:

6-10 if they get a few breaks 7-9

  12. SB Says:

I am willing to wager a Bucs jersey of choice that we go minimum 9 – 7 Johnny.

  13. Destinjohnny Says:

I’ll take they bet all day SB.
There is no way we win 9 games

  14. I Bleed Pewter and Red Says:

Let’s see how we do in the first three games. If we go 0-3 then beating the over could be a real challenge.

  15. cmurda Says:

I’ll take the over which probably means the smart money is on the under.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think we will know what kind of team we have right away…..if that line stops the run and gets pressure on Brees….our offense should carry us to a win.
If not, all bets are off……I’m looking for the Bucs to come out of the gate strong.

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The way I see it, two things should lead to twice as many wins this year.

First, the offense was able to come from behind a lot last year, only to have the defense blow it by the end of games. Defense is immensely improved this year, and the bums are gone. It should not happen this year.

Second, the improved defense should keep opposing teams scores lower on average, making for higher scores for us.

Five more wins should be easily possible, giving us ten wins.

But…we can never discount pesky injuries for this team. So who really knows?

  18. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Of course, the length of suspension plays a role too.

  19. BucNole Says:

We have to win at least 10 games for this coaching staff to be safe. Being in the consideration for a Division Championship late in the season might also help. I think if we dont get at least close to turning the corner the door will be shut on the coaching staff.
fingers crossed and hoping for at least 10 wins

  20. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

@BucBole – “fingers crossed and hoping for at least 10 wins”

Right there with ya, man. Let’s hope!

  21. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Sorry for the typo, @BucNole – “fingers crossed and hoping for at least 10 wins”

    With ya! – Go BUCS
