Report: T.J. Ward “Moving On”

February 27th, 2018

Bags packed.

This is about as big of a surprise as someone telling Joe the Bucs need a defensive end.

It seems marijuana advocate T.J. Ward has missed his last tackle for the Bucs.

Ward, who at one time was a helluva safety, is set to become a free agent and, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Ward will be “moving on” away from the Bucs this offseason.

Ward will go down in recent Bucs history of big-name, no-results free agents such as Derrick Ward, Ryan Leaf, Charlie Garner and Tim Brown. People jumped with glee upon learning they were coming to the Bucs, and only a few years later, fans had to strain their brains to remember anything they did for the Bucs.

In T.J. Ward’s case, he will be be remembered by blowing up ball carriers, but failing to wrap up and letting said victims escape for more yardage.

Sad!

Ward was brought in for leadership and his hard hitting. He instead was a part-time player and didn’t really offer any leadership at all, unless you call whining about not getting enough snaps leadership.

Ward was always good to Joe and for that reason, Joe will miss him. But as far as results on the field, he won’t be missed.

Ward was signed right before the regular season began after he was among the final cuts by the Broncos. It almost seemed like he was a forced fit and never really blended in with Mike Smith’s defense.

Joe hopes Ward finds a better fit with his new team, wherever that may be.

With that All World Morphing Defence…I don’t think MSmith knows what a good fit is! The biggest mistake of this off/season….not getting rid of MSmith!!

  2. LifeOfABucFan Says:

“never really blended in with Mike Smith’s defense.”..

Yep…I think Smith is a career destroyer..just sayin’

  3. LakeLand Says:

It seems like everyone played bad on Mike Smith defense. That don’t mean that they are a bad player. They’re just playing on a bad, poorly coached defense.

  4. Pa Privateer Says:

Good Luck Ward, try not to let the door hit you on the way out

  5. loggedontosay Says:

How is it that you criticize the man when he could not get on the field? Is it to avoid placing the blame were it belongs? No one on the Bucs defense played well because of Mike Smith.

If you do not ever complain, you can complain about someone else complaining.

  6. LakeLand Says:

That didn’t come out right. I wanted to say this:

It seems like everyone played bad on Mike Smith defense. But that doesn’t make them bad players. They just had the misfortune of playing on a poorly coached defense.

    Now that’s better

  7. SeattleBuc Says:

Lmao at the above comments, last off season everyone was praising the Bucs brass for extending M Smith.

  8. LakeLand Says:

    SeattleBuc

This is what I said about Mike Smith, when they was talking extending him.

People keep saying how much the Bucs defense improved under Mike Smith. Actually the defense gave up more total yards than last season. What improve was the PTS/G. Last season we gave up 26.1 compared to the 23.1. A three point difference, that’s not a significant improvement. We improved from 6-10 to 9-7 but that credit goes to Dirk Koetter, not Mike Smith.

    We were wrong.

Those guys are recent Bucs history? I mean why not throw in Alvin Harper as recent history? What about Bert Emanuel?

  11. DB55 Says:

Zzz 😴 wake me when McIceCream gets traded

  12. BigHogHaynes Says:

If we trade GMC …M Smith Defence will go down further than the depths of hell!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!

  13. Bnomo Says:

Just about as bad as Baker, BUST.

  14. webster Says:

Dont remember buc fans jumping with glee for ryan leaf who was on his last chance, tim brown who was on his last leg etc. Now that line jumping with glee would have made more sense if you said carl nicks, desean gohlston, etc

  15. Joe Says:

Those guys are recent Bucs history? I mean why not throw in Alvin Harper as recent history? What about Bert Emanuel?

This website was not in existence then. Those players cited all came on board in the last decade. Not sure anyone outside of Atlanta ever heard of Hurt Emanuel when Bucs signed him.

  16. BucEmUp Says:

cover two soft coverage….BROKEN RECORD HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY HELL ARE THE COACHES THIS STUPID????

It almost has to be rigged to not see a change in DC when good players AND COACHES come here and rot away

  17. Bucsfanman Says:

“It seems marijuana advocate T.J. Ward has missed his last tackle for the Bucs.”

    LMAO! Great line!
DB55- GMC ain’t getting traded. You might as well resign yourself to continuing your IceCream moniker. We’ll be seeing his smiling face for years to come!

  18. Eric Says:

    Don’t forget Haynseworth.

He wasn’t here long enough to get scared at a boat ramp.

  19. feelthepewterpower Says:

    Tim “Fair Catch” Brown LOL!

  20. feelthepewterpower Says:

FA, Alvin Harper started it all…the writing was on the wall when his finger nearly had to be amputated.

  21. tmaxcon Says:

Just another quality proven winner who came to Tampa and regressed…. It’s a bucs life…. no one sucks the life and desire to win from any player that walks through the door at one buc circus tent faster than the pedophile supporting cancer93 the undisputed face of the basement years

  22. I'm a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

The Weed Whacker has left the building!!!!! Another of Licht’s outstanding Free Agency signings!!!

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    loggedontosay Says
“How is it that you criticize the man when he could not get on the field?”

There was a reason he did not get on the field. He played badly when he was on the field.

And people need to stop blaming Mike Smith when he was not given the tools to succeed. This year, he should get those tools. If he blows it, he’ll deserve the naysayers.

  24. Guzzie Says:

In other news the sun came up today, next

  25. tmaxcon Says:

    Bonzi

maybe TJ ward will let you kiss his ring…. ward is not the problem it’s the pathetic organization that can not doing anything right….

  26. zzbucs Says:

TJ, you could take your cigerettes far away……Maybe you could join your twitter pal Swaggy and make comments together, like you did in the middle of the season complaining about your miuntes in the field…..Thanks god both are out!!!!!!

  27. I'm a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Come on tmaxcon…….Ward was a Bong Whiffing loser like GMC is a Pro Bowler. You don’t have a clue. And yep Mike Smith is the 32nd best Defensive Coordinator in the league. Come back and bash me when the 2018 season is over and the Bucs get the same results. And Bonzai you don’t have to worry about the Bucs getting all the right pieces this year because you still got Licht pulling the trigger. You guys are living in a Nightmare Halucination!!!!

  28. Mike Johnson Says:

Hmmnnn..Everybody played bad on Mike Smith’s Defense except..Mike Smith? He didn’t have the staff, the players, the system. Everybody’s fault but the man in charge. Makes you wonder why he’s still around. What will it be this year? What a joke of a cover up by this sad A.s Buc organization. Great though. I’m grinnin from ear to ear becayse there is no hiding this season. Win or go fishin for this sorry caoching staff. Good Luck!

  29. tmaxcon Says:

both swaggy and tj ward have won a hell of a lot more than the cryin clown. meanwhile bucs have not won a meaningful game in 16 and low standard buc fan blames previously successful players yet career losing mentally weak players that have been here throughout the losing get a free pass as long as they smile and try hard. results matter nothing else….

  30. tmaxcon Says:

    I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan

dude your favorite player is a scrub that is nothing more than a roster charity case. so pardon me, if I find your credibility somewhat lacking. Pro bowls mean less than nothing. maybe if she cared more about being able to finish games and hold leads than pro bowls she would not have spent her career in the nfc south basement. just a career loser who supports pedohphiles that’s your super hero cancer93 the most overrated buc of all time and the worst captain in team history.

  31. lokog Says:

I’m glad this crybaby is gone

  32. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Yeah righty max. My scrub sit all season and the pro bowl bong whiffer played and your Bucs went 5 & 11. I’m just hoping my scrub gets an offer and gets out of loserville. Good luck next year as you I’m sure will get to continue bashing the Bucs All Pro Player. You my friend needs to get real!!!

  33. DoSomething Says:

He will be the next “why didn’t the Bucs find a way to use him” subjects when he goes to the next team and balls

  34. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

The Weed Whacker has seen his day. No one will take a chance on the Bong Whiffer!!! Hell if he couldn’t crack the starting lineup in Tampa why you think he can play somewhere else… Time will tell. I may be wrong but I may not…

  35. tmaxcon Says:

    Tandyman

you are the one who needs to take a bong hit… you after all are supporting a career bum whose best trait is an average to below average special teams player who can’t get on the field and has only made 6 or 8 plays in his entire career.

spend some time on google researching the definitions of good, great, consistent and bum… you will find tandy in the bum section…

you really should trade in your pharmaceuticals for weed it will clear your mind.

  36. WillieG Says:

    Another turd flushed

  37. I'm a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Tmax you are already hitting the Bong talking all that Jibirish shat!!!! Tandy played 6 games as a starter in 2016 45 tackles and 5 interceptions and your Bucs are 9 & 6. He sits in 2017 because of your 32nd best Defensive Coordinator in the League and your Bucs go 5 & 11. It is what it is not what you try to make it. Think that is a little better than 6 or 8 plays my friend.

  38. tmaxcon Says:

    tandyman

so in your mind if tandy would have played the bucs would not have been 5-11 and koetter and smith wold not be taking heat. wow dude… get help seriously.

  39. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Yep Tmax that’s what I’m saying!!! In knowing how Keith prepares, study’s and is a Coach on the field he did make a difference. Now I’m not as naive as you are with Gerald being the reason the Bucs lose all the time to believe that Tandy did it all himself but he sure had 6 great games didn’t he? My last post to you on this topic. I as many others get tired of hearing your unsubstantiated jibitish. You need to get off that Bong my friend!!!

  40. unbelievable Says:

Wait, what? What has swaggy ever won or achieved?

Further proof that tmax is completely clueless about football. LOLOLOLOL.

Gotta love when people sh*t on others about something like smoking some herb. Something that’s now legal in more than half the states in the US. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from a close-minded redneck…

  41. tmaxcon Says:

[Sorry man, going to have to put you in the cooler for a few months for that. Joe is responsible for every word typed on this site. Joe will not tolerate anyone referring to a player as a felony much less molesting children. Bad enough you are a broken record on such an idiotic topic. Worse when you have to stoop to this level. If you weren’t such a loyal commenter for years, you’d be gone for that. See you when the regular season kicks off. — Joe.]

  42. SOEbuc Says:

Ward was a multiple pro bowler and I don’t even think good coaching would save him from sucking as badly as he did last year.
