  1. Bucssuccs Says:

Oh boy, the bucs really have their hands tied behind their back. Get rid of our D-line coach who is a guru at coaching d-lines, but ours disappears these past few season. Knowing our luck we’ll cut him to sign with the Browns and have their d-line have 30 sacks a season. And with the rumors of bucs changing their coaching personnel, there isn’t much to change to really make a difference. Plus, if Dirk Koetter gets canned next season and we get a new coach who doesn’t like our staff, then what happens? I dunno, the franchise is put in a very, very difficult situation

  2. Pierce Says:

I’m all in on Koetter. This guy develops players which no one has been able to do since Dungy. He knows his shi(p)t! He had one bad year, get over it. You fools wanna throw coaches out after two years. Your idiots. No program has ever been with a damn turning their coaching staff over every two years! Hopefully some day you’ll realize this.
You trolls wanna cry about not getting your Gruden? Were you asleep during those erratic years when our team’s Identity was a bunch of old vets with little gas left in the tank? We weren’t that good back then – look at the tape! The tape doesn’t lie! If it wasn’t for Monte we wouldn’t have been shi(p)t!

And F the fools who are dumb enough to believe we can get any of these coordinaters that we want. “Let’s get Rod!” What are you kidding? Just because he used to coach here doesn’t mean he’s gonna come calling back? Wake up and realize we’re the Cleveland South! Most decent coaches will run for the hills rather than work for the Bucs! Koetter is the man! I’m excited about next year!

  3. Buccaneer Bill Says:

Alright Pierce! I completely agree. I am also pumped and focusing on better results next season!

  4. Bucssuccs Says:

    @Pierce

When did I ever say about throwing away coaches. I’m saying that if we do he’ll go around and turn a terrible d-line into a good one.

  5. teacherman777 Says:

    I love Koetter!

Did you guys forget the Shula offense?

Or the years we couldn’t get a first down?

    Or J-Fro partying before games?

Koetter is the best OC we have ever had!

Just wait until our D-line is fixed!

Sign M. Bennett or trade for him, he is GMC’s best friend!

Sign Ziggy Ansah and draft 2 D-lineman

    and boom! we are back!

  6. Gencoimports Says:

Where is the Jason Licht poll?

  7. Rod Munch Says:

You should have an option for resignation, as in I’m resigned to the fact he’s back…

  8. Buc believer Says:

Most of the people leaving responses are one of two things…. people who did not watch/attend a Bucs game this year or jerks err Derks (excuse me) family.

  9. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Gruden is going back to the Raiders and it’s gonna be sad seeing him back with that team. I have been a huge fan of his strictly because of his passion and love of the game. I hope the Glazers made the right move in retaining Koetter, but my gut tells me Gruden was the right man for this team. Hopefully I am wrong. Go Bucs!

  10. Midnightstroker1 Says:

I’ve been voting little confidence since these polls started. Some ppl are going both ways.

  11. Bculaw Says:

Hoping this season was a big learning opportunity for DK. Clock management and personnel management really seemed to bite him a couple of times this year. My hope is that those will improve with experience.

We saw some strides late in the season with play calling when he started incorporating more screens and short passes into the game plan. Hopefully that growth can continue with more creativity in the red zone next year. Get Barber and the rookies (OJ and Howard) more incorporated in the offense going forward and find a new guard or two and the offense should hum.

Don’t have much to say about the defense. Hopefully the team can fill some holes via free agency and the draft. Lord knows there are plenty to fill.

I was all in on the Gruden talk, but that ship has obviously sailed. Don’t know if any other coach that would be an obvious/guaranteed upgrade over DK. The players play for him, so let’s give him another year to see if the team and staff can improve on their shortcomings.

  12. Pickgrin Says:

There is a good bit of talent on the roster and assuming Licht can continue drafting well, this team is not that far from becoming a consistent winning organization IMO.

I’m glad the Glazers displayed patience for once when it comes to giving a newer HC a chance to work through “problems”.

  13. D-Rome Says:

    No confidence.

Giving snaps to the Muscle Shamster and Swaggy Baker in the final game of the season, keeping Mike Smith, and continuing to be the play caller tells me everything I need to know about Dirk Koetter heading into the 2018 season.

Since no changes are being made and no one is being held accountable for the failed 2017 season what makes any of you think Dirk Koetter is going to change his play calling approach?

Get used to more failed pitch plays and scared red zone play calling for 2018.

  14. The Buc Realist Says:

Just like the Glazers, I voted Totally Confident!!!!!! Now that the “distractions” and injuries are hopefully out of the way, the team will focus on the “real” issue’s, the Trenches!!!!!!!! And that I am totally confident as well!!!!!! The biggest issue was weapons, and man did they stacked the roster with it!!!!! We will see that once again!!!!! I can almost guarantee a Guard and a DE in free agency!!!!! We will comb DE with the 1st pick in the draft (unless the RB falls to 7, which is likely, as QB’s rise in the draft and RB fall)!!!!! If the whispers I am starting to hear are correct, They might Keep Robert Ayers JR and will pay him his current rate of 6 million to be a rotational guy of the Bench!!!! RA91 would be a great part time player as injuries and age do not allow him to be effective as a starter!!!!!!!!

I am very excited for next year!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. 813bucboi Says:

I voted “little confident” only because im a die hard bucs fan…..

we all saw how dirk performed when faced with adversity and distractions(as if no other team in the NFL lost players due to injury…MIA and JAX had to deal with injuries and IRMA yet still had a better record than us)….

now that he’s officially on the “hot seat” heading into next year, im interested in seeing how he and this team responds….he sure shat the bed this year….no doubt about it….

will he improve?….will this team improve?….will he improve his clock management?…..will he improve his play calling, since he’s not handing it over?…..will he give his input and make recommendation about the defense?…..will he stay committed to the run?

this season will begin with more questions than answers and that’s never a good thing….it is what it is….i’ll save my criticism for when the real bullets start flying…..GO BUCS!!!!!

ok realist….this looks like the last “valid” excuse you still have left on the plate….these are dirks players…..these are dirks coaches….we have talent as dirk has confirmed…..once we draft heavy in the trenches and sign a few FA’s there will be no excuses!!!!!!

and when we draft a DE this year, how much production do you expect from him?…..the last rookie DE produced right out the gate was Bosa(10.5)sack as a rookie….I don’t see a Bosa in this draft….chubb is nice, but I don’t think he’s Bosa…..GO BUCS!!!!!

  17. ben Says:

Bucs won ONLY 5 games with all the weapons!! How can anyone think confident ? . how many of you would be pleased if you pay for season tkts? Is this team a joke to the national media?

  18. The Buc Realist Says:

    @813broccoli

I am looking for a team to be built, I was one of the few that when dominik was fired, that voiced how bad that roster was!!!!! I voiced for years how young the “real” core was!!!!!!! unlike you and the sheep, I am not looking for a rookie DE to get 10 sacks and when it does not happen to cry about firing all the coaches!!!!!!! This year was a disappointment and it can not happen next year!!!! We need to see growth from the young roster!!!! We need to see a potent offense, since we have poured most of the roster for the most part of 4 seasons!!!!!!! Big growth should be expected and seen next year. And it is close if the right moves and good draft happen this offseason!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

    No confidence.
Since no changes are being made and no one is being held accountable for the failed 2017 season what makes any of you think Dirk Koetter is going to change his play calling approach?

    ^^BINGO^^

that’s my main problem….no accountability…..sure they come out and say “it falls on my…I have to coach better”, but what actions are dirk taking to improve his coaching and this team…..him not making any changes is a big “red flag”….in the NFL, everybody has talent….what separates good teams from great teams are QB play and coaching…..I feel like we have the QB but we’re still lacking the coaching….

but it is what it is….he has another year to get it right….GO BUCS!!!!

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    realist

where did I say “im looking for a rookie DE to have 10 sacks”?…..I just said don’t expect whatever rookie DE we draft to be a game changer…..

sure, hopefully he can make an impact and provide decent production, but you saying “fix the trenches” like licht can just wave his magic stick and get a all pro player…..

and as far as looking for a team to be built, well we have that now….franchise qb….franchise wr….weapons….average oline(still can use some work)….LVD…KWON….beckwith….j.evans…..VHG(despite what people think)….Godwin…OJ…Brate….Hump….

we have a solid young core as you’ve stated…..dirks coaching has held us back….as you stated we need to see growth from this team…..this team has not grown and developed…..lets hope he can get us to the next level…..GO BUCS!!!!

  21. Bucsfanman Says:

I can’t see what the poll says but I will say this: What choice do we have? The whole crew is back next year….WOO-HOO! Are we to expect things to be so vastly different?! We STILL have more roster holes than Swiss cheese and we are expecting the SAME coaching staff to get different results. We would have to have one heck of an offseason in terms of acquisitions for this to work.

  22. D-Rome Says:

where did I say “im looking for a rookie DE to have 10 sacks”?…..I just said don’t expect whatever rookie DE we draft to be a game changer…..

sure, hopefully he can make an impact and provide decent production, but you saying “fix the trenches” like licht can just wave his magic stick and get a all pro player

It’s may be too little to late for Jason Licht. Spending a draft pick like a drunken sailor on Aguayo and missing on Vernon Hargreaves will hurt the Bucs for quite some time. Whatever he does in the draft or in FA will likely not be enough but will help the franchise in the long run.

  23. The Anomaly Says:

How can anyone be confident in a guy that just went 5-11?

    And is making zero changes.

This fanbase is fragile and has battered fan syndrome.

  24. 813bucboi Says:

    D-ROME

his biggest mistake was taking Roberto….that was beyond a head scratcher….im still high on VHG…..I’ve personally seen him play in HS and at UF and the kid is a baller….he’s a man press cb…..not a zone cb like grimes…..smitty and his soft nonaggressive scheme is ruining him and ryan smith(who’s also a man press cb)…..

unless licht is able to pull off drafting chubb…guice….a day1 starter on the oline and dline with also signing d.lawerence and ziggy ansah im afraid you may be right…..it might be a little too late…..that’s why both are starting off on the hot seat…..GO BUCS!!!!!

  25. darin Says:

Only took dirk 17 weeks to get it somewhat together. N now people are confident? Maybe next year theyll win a few by week 14. Bad head coach. Hope you improve dirk!

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

Joe…Where in the hell is the..Pressbox, Binocular wearing Nacho eatin, Defensive Cordinator Smith pole?!!!!

  27. MadMax Says:

Still sticking with little confidence…..he can fix that.
