More national jabs at Jameis

The sad thing is that America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, is best known around the country these days for shoving fingers in his mouth and pretending to eat Ws formed by those digits.

Hey, that’s what happens when your team is 5-11 and labeled the NFL’s big disappointment of 2017.

We all remember Jameis mowing down his fingers in a passionate pregame speech before the Bucs were humiliated in New Orleans on Nov. 5, where they trailed 30-3 in the third quarter. The national media ran with the finger-gobbling video — and subsequent screen shots of Jameis’ teammates in stunned disbelief.

The Carolina Panthers, showing no Christmas Eve mercy, even trolled Jameis on their official Twitter account with a “W” cake and time-lapse imaging.

It all results in more kicks to the groin of the Bucs faithful, who aren’t laughing all the way to the bank like Jameis can.

On his popular national radio show last week, Dan Patrick had Gerald McCoy on the air and asked McCoy to help everyone understand what Jameis was doing eating his fingers.

McCoy played defense much like the Bucs did all season.

“I cannot help you understand that,” McCoy replied.

“My quarterback is very passionate. He does whatever he feels is necessary to get us ready for the game. And that’s just who he is and who he’s going to be. We support him I can’t help you understand that one, though. … I mean, anything that Jameis does is to help his teammates, to motivate his teammates. So when he does things like that, we just look at it like, ‘Well, he’s just trying to get us ready, so let’s go win this game.'”

McCoy added that he didn’t ask Jameis to explain the finger routine. “I stayed away from that,” McCoy deadpanned.

Next year when Tampa is kicking butt. I want Jameis to eat W’s after every game. That can be there rallying cry.

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

Are they any other players on the team ?

  3. The Buc Realist Says:

Then sell the “W” pretzels at RJS!!!!!!!!!

That is how you right the ship!!!!!! Kicking Carolina’s Butt and the camera flips to Cam and he has the towel over his head crying and then the Camera flips to all the fans, holding up the Big “W” pretzels in front of the screen jumping up and down wild with excitement because the score is Bucs 34 panthers 12!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. StPeteBucsFan Says:

It’s the NFL! You are expected to win or S T F U.

Winning cures everything including an overly hyped up QB.

Losing magnifies and distorts. If we had a winning record and were headed to the playoffs the finger eating would be long gone.

If you want the best and want to succeed you need to accept the good with the bad. #3 has a lot of wonderful qualities…but he can also be over the top and immature both on and off the field. That’s the price we need to pay to get fourth quarter drives like the game winner against N.O.

The one gripe I have difficulty getting past is Arizona…not the accusation but the fact that Jameis never told the team a year ago!!! Smacks of a lack of loyalty to the organization.

Overall though…I still support Jameis and I honestly believe if we get an OL that blocks for our run game and a DL that can rush the passer #3 and the team will be fine. Win games and the conversation about #3 will change dramatically.

Sad that McCoy had to even field such an embarrassing question. America’s Embarrassment!

  10. Lord Cornelius Says:

lol it’s not a complicated concept in terms of what he was saying. Eat a W as in get the win. It obviously didn’t resonate and wasn’t a great speech but jin the end he’s just a goofy guy that people love to hate

  11. AlteredEgo Says:

LC…It obviously didn’t resonate and wasn’t a great speech but jin the end he’s just a goofy guy that people love to hate….it was selfish and inappropriate for public viewing….not to mention immature and lacking in focus….

  12. gilhealy Says:

AlteredEgo, you are a piece of work.

  13. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis is a piece of work…hope he can get his sierra together

  14. gilhealy Says:

No, I got it right. Jameis is great. A starting QB in the NFL, Collegiate National Champ, and mature enough to ignore insults thrown at him by you and the like, at his young age, speaks volumes. Give us your credentials at the ages of 19-23. You know, just to compare.

In reciprocation Jameis will explain the Dan how McIceCream eats a dck every Sunday and what that means.

*Cut to fan* with ice cream stuffed dcks in their mouth waving them around in the air screaming we love you McIceCream

  17. Lord Cornelius Says:

wtf is selfish about wanting your team to win the game lol…

Again – people are just a4sholes sometimes. It was a dumb goofy speach – but the whole point of it was wanting to win a game. I don’t get obsessing over it. Football players yell and say all sorts of crazy sh1t before games. woopady do

  18. AlteredEgo Says:

LC…what does eating your fingers have to do with winning a game ?….in the locker room…no problem….selfish…look at me…look at me…I guess you and Jameis are the only 2 that related…because the look on his team mates speaks volumes

  19. LakeLand Says:

The National Media cannot write positive things about a team that lack positive things. They will only write negative things, the Bucs has to change this. They can only change this view of them with wins.

  20. I Bleed Pewter and Red Says:

It’s really not that hard to understand. Jameis eats his W’s the same way he eats his crab legs. 🙂

  21. Reach87 Says:

Lord C once again on point. Agree 100%. Not hard to understand what he was doing to me or the vast number of people I interact with on a daily basis. We used the term “gobble up wins” all the time when I played. The reference didn’t work for Winston and this ultra-xxxx crowd (he’s a goofy, passionate guy), but so what? Does that make him a bad person or selfish? If you really (really) think so, and are not just trolling, you need help understanding what selfish means.

  22. AlteredEgo Says:

Virtually NO one other than Jameis slurpers here are defending that bizarre scene…

  23. Robert Says:

    mccoy, jameis, d. jackson

trade em all while they still have worth. get some decent guys in here with “fire in the belly” for the team. not their legacy, not for crablegs, not for BS probowls…

for the love of winning, their fans, their honor. then maybe things will turn.

basically the opposite of what the nfl stands for these days.

  24. loggedontosay Says:

The media is very sad. Why waste time on the issue unless you have nothing inspiring to discuss?

  25. bkbuc Says:

Not even defenders of Jameis can defend that and I am one of them!

  26. ndog Says:

Altered no one is actually defending anything they are just explaining what he was doing cause you clearly don’t understand what he was doing. In addition they are just saying what is the big deal? He was just having fun trying to find a creative way to motivate his teammates. You are a piece of work man I tell ya.

  28. Lord Cornelius Says:

“Does that make him a bad person or selfish? ”

Apparently if you don’t have the opinion that he’s a horrible selfish human being because of this eating W thing then you’re just some dumb slurping homer

  29. AlteredEgo Says:

it means is extremely self centered , immature, unprofessional and inappropriate ….not a horrible human being…

  30. Lamarcus Says:

Why do u use a name altered ego? Eating Ws is a altered ego stunt but u don’t get that JW did that??? Do u know what alter ego means??

  31. gp Says:

i wonder what everyone would be saying had we won that game in grand fashion?

  32. gp Says:

    Jameis the motivational genius?

  33. AlteredEgo Says:

Lamarcus….Jameis needs to alter his ego….

  34. Lamarcus Says:

JW don’t need to do anything.

  35. unbelievable Says:

Realist I don’t know if I’ve agreed with one of your posts as much as that first one. Good stuff!

  36. NFLNut Says:

EVERYONE is jealous of Jameis’ success and loves to see him fail … he’s the new Kobe/Tyson/2Pac

  37. The Anomaly Says:

J(ate the W) has continued his recklessness with the football.

Until he gets rid of that he will never be great.

He is average and the 4th best QB in his own division.
