GMC, David, Hargreaves Out

December 16th, 2017

Ugly news.

Last night Bucs coach Dirk Koetter offered on SiriusXM NFL Radio the best weapon to stop All World Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones is a pass rush.

Koetter better have a backup plan.

The best pass rusher on the sordid Bucs defensive line, Gerald McCoy, has been declared out for the Monday night game with the Dixie Chicks. That’s the word from Koetter by way of Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com.

Joining GMC on the sidelines will be arguably the best player on defense whose name isn’t “Brett Grimes,” and that would be linebacker Lavonte David.

Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves will also miss Monday’s game.

Somewhere, Matty Ice is drooling as if he was just told about the greatest burnt ends in the world, found at Rollin Smoke BBQ in Las Vegas.

Hargreaves has received the “mercy rule” and will get a fresh start with the new regime next season. Unlikely he comes back this year IMO…hamstrings are tricky and great alibis for situations such as these.

  2. SOEbuc Says:

PLEASE keep LVD out the rest of the season. He’s are defensive MVP this year and doesn’t need to be playing with a bad hamstring in three more games that we’re already gonna lose. And if he is in that gives us the better chance of winning the last three games and getting the #20 draft spot next year.

  3. AlteredEgo Says:

SOE…after MNF…they all need a chance to play in the game….this is The Season for them….enjoy

  4. DB55 Says:

    Argh LVD IS NOT HURT!!!!!!!!

He’s never hurt and if he is he plays thru it and plays well.

Remember the time his knee almost got knocked off by a rb in pass protection? LVD wanted to play but Lovie sat him for 3 weeks.

I highly doubt LVD is hurt this just a way to see the young kids in action.

I bet beck goes to mlb w kwon a will. Foreshadowing?

  5. Fire the glazers Says:

NO CHANCE… The Dirty Falcons drop a 50 Burger on Monday night… and national chatter about Gruden swelters…

  6. not there yet Says:

Please no one freak out over this because I’m sure you saw how easily this defense was dispatched at full strength soooo not everyone is talented at every position which is why game planning and screening is all about something that correctly isn’t a strong attribute of this coaching staff. Every year there’s an excuse, last year it was safety and wide receiver, the positions were addressed and we’re scoring less points. Once again we’ll go through a draf hoping rookies will come in to make our veterans look good. But who’s going to teach? 27 mil contact this off season for a guy who could never pass rush. Only thing that will change the fortunes of this club is a coach

Can’t wait to see this defensive line without GMC, it’ll look the exact same, he best hope it doesn’t play better

  7. tmaxcon Says:

it would not matter if cancer93 or lvd were on the field. quarterbacks drool every week before the soft weak bucs defense. no team in history made more backup quarterbacks look good… hell they even helped cousins term a phrase with their mentally weak approach… at least the defense won’t come out flat with the captains on the sideline. coming out flat is their signature move after all especially during this time of the year.

  8. tmaxcon Says:

patriots want to win championships and every game they take the field the glazers just want to finish a head of cleveland. there is a reason there is NO HOPE bucfan

  9. Couch Fan Says:

Maybe im wrong but havent we lost almost all the ROH games? Pains me to say it but I think this will be no exception. No chance against the Turdy Birds

  10. unbelievable Says:

@Couch yea I’m pretty sure we’ve lost at least 4 out of the last 6.

Gonna be ugly on Monday night, unfortunately.

  12. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, this isn’t good news at all. I was thinking we had a chance to win. Now? Maybe not.

    Well…we can hope. Sort of.

  13. AlteredEgo Says:

You are what your record says you are……..

A great coach once said that! Does he need a job?

  17. Defense Rules Says:

Tough situation. With ALL our starters healthy, we’d have a tough time beating the Falcons. With half the starting defense on the shelf, plus several OLinemen out, you’d have to ask what chance do the Bucs have. Wouldn’t be one bit surprised to see the Bucs drop ALL of these last 3 games given their injury situation & lack of real talent to start with. Good news is that Joe & almost everyone else still have Smitty & Koetter (in that order) to blame for the mounting losses. Thank heaven we still have Jason Licht & the Glazer Boys to straighten out this mess (that they created) when the season ends. Another 4 years, 2 coaching staffs, and 53 new players and Bucs fans will be celebrating a 9-7 record yet again. Aah yes, the good old days when we ALMOST made the playoffs.

  18. Lakeland Says:

I hope the Falcons drop a 50 spot on the Bucs. Man will that be something beautiful to witness.

“Tough situation. With ALL our starters healthy, we’d have a tough time beating the Falcons. 20. Pickgrin Says:

If Hargreaves was not expected back – they would not have held a roster spot for him the last 5 weeks. They obviously pretty badly wanted to see what VH3 can put on tape the last couple/few games or Vernon would have been on IR a month ago.

  21. John Says:

Thanks for chiming in tmax bc we all listen to your BS every year…..

  22. AlteredEgo Says:

John ^^^….can you imagine how insufferable Tmax would be if the Buc’s were winning… OMG

  23. Bird Says:

    They may put up 70

  24. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Why do fans and media think David is so great? I mean what has He ever done? This guy is not any better then 70% of NFL linebackers. He is a pretty good pursuit linebacker. He also does ok in coverage. Is he a leader? Does he shed blocks and get TFL’s consistany? Does he make it home on his blitzes 50% of the time? Does he score on defense more than once every 5 years? Just because he is one of only a handfull of competing players on this team does not make him a game changer.

    Wouldn’t make a difference
