Gerald McCoy Says He Might Play Monday

December 14th, 2017

Gerald McCoy speaks

UPDATED 3:31 p.m. – Those Gerald McCoy tears on the sidelines after a biceps injury against the Lions four days ago may soon turn to smiles.

No. 93 was being coy today in the Bucs’ locker room and called himself a maybe for Monday Night Football against the Falcons.

“Just going to keep rehabbing and do my best. I would like to be. I don’t know yet,” McCoy said regarding whether he expects to be ready Monday night.

Asked if his arm has improved since Sunday, McCoy danced.

“I guess you could say that if you’d like. Whatever,” he said, adding it was a blessing that he got a no-surgery-needed diagnosis.

A one-arm McCoy likely is better than the guys who would replace him. Heck, a one-armed Noah Spence was better last year than most, if not all, of the Bucs defensive ends this season.

UPDATE: – McCoy did not practice today.

Pretty misleading. “I don’t know” does not equal “I might play.”

  2. DB55 Says:

in honor of GMC’s decision to play on mnf OBP will be giving out candy cane ice cream cones to all fans. Just go to the gate and ask for the gmc candy cane ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and tutti frutti toppings.

  3. Dooshlarue Says:

    Ah…….the power of ice cream!

  4. DB55 Says:

I’m just gonna leave this right here if that’s cool.

It’s most definitely a pain tolerance thing,” Suggs told reporters on Tuesday. “But it’s also a win tolerance thing. How much do you want to win?”

  5. Dewey Selmon Says:

He ain’t playing. He never met a camera he didn’t like. Shelf him for the season.

  6. Bucsfanman Says:

DB55- If “ice-cream man” is suiting up, doesn’t that tell you he wants to win? I’m just asking because he could easily fold up shop on the season.
Thanks for making me want ice cream! LOL!
Breyer’s mint chocolate chip all day, e’ry day!

gmc never misses a chance to grandstand on national tv especially with the gruden circus the crying clown will not want to be out shined

This is 100% a fact. All that crying stuff on the sideline is for putting on a “good show” for his potential free agent market when the Bucs release his under-achieving butt next year.

People did not realize what he was doing……it’s all BS. GMC knows his days around here are numbered in TB.

  9. DB55 Says:

    Buc

I wish he would sit. I want to test the theory that we’re better without him.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

    this should be good!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  11. Crazed Fan Says:

Man, Gerald, don’t do it! The season is over! Do not risk making things worse for yourself. This season has given everyone diarrhea. Every Bucs fan is sleeping on the toilet. No need to come back now. Do what’s right have the surgery. Go Bucs!!! Screw Gruden!!!

  12. Lamarcus Says:

Of course he plays he needs sympathy pro bowl votes. Cuz he is looking at missing the pro bowl this year.

  13. Buc believer Says:

Oh my goodness what a warrior he is what a competitor what heart of a champion that is beating in his chest!!!! He is going to try to play during “that time of the month” I am just so filled with pride for having him on our team!

  14. tmaxcon Says:

gmc probably will spend more time in make up and tv prep than gruden will. he has to keep the BS front up to continue the fraud

  15. Lamarcus Says:

With all that crying gmc did I thot someone died.

  16. Bucsfanman Says:

DB, I’m kind of thinking he’s B.S.ing! I’m not going to hold my breath on whether he plays.
As far as being better without, that theory has been tested; Stafford called Jimmy Johns for a corned beef sandwich! I heard the driver was stuck in traffic outside of RayJay but still managed to deliver in between the snap and whistle!!!

  17. DoNUTS Says:

I like to play devils advocate with the #93 haters. I don’t think I need to name you as its obvious.

Okay, lets assume GMC is waived. Who will replace him in FA and outperform him in 2018? I want to hear current NFL player names not college kids who have proven zero at NFL level and could be a zero in NFL…like Aguayo example. NFL draft is truly crap shoot and we all know it. BTW- per you guys…nobody will trade for GMC cuz he is garbage so lets leave that off the table.

    Who will replace #93?

  18. patrickbucs Says:

Same dudes with the same comments every thread, you guys have jobs or just cut and paste?

  19. DB55 Says:

    Who will replace #93?

  20. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

What are the GMC haters gonna say when GMC leaves and we still suck? What are they gonna say we he teams up with actual talent somewhere else and turns into the beast everyone know he Is? Way to go GMC Haters! You have successfully run off our best DT since Sapp and our already dreadful pass rush is even worse. Bravo!

  21. DB55 Says:

    Patrick

That’s not true I bring new material on the regular. The tutti frutti is only a week old. Lmao

  22. America's Groper Says:

Leave a empty space there and not play, hell we won’t know the difference

    Well first of all

#1 He has to be healthy enough to even stay on the field the whole game
#2 He has to have a stupid DC to believe him that he’s an elite DT
#3 He has to players better than him to help him play average on any team

………….if he gets all them things going for him on his new team…then he might have some success.

  24. Bucsfanman Says:

You guys MUST be masochistic that WANT to see this d-line sans McCoy. Have you watched any games?! We stink with him, what do you think we’ll look like without?!

  25. Lamarcus Says:

We suck with gmc or without. At least that is proven. Gmc left the game and we look the same. 🤔🤔🤔

  26. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

    TheBucsAnthem

I find it funny how everyone outside of Tampa considers GMC to be elite and I’m sure a vast majority of the coaches in the league agree. All the GMC haters have been brainwashed and flock like sheep to people who claim GMC is the reason for our troubles simply looking for someone to pin it on. Everyone needs a scapegoat, and GMC happens to be the Bucs Fans’ punching bag.

Can’t wait to see what a beast he turns into when he gets paired up with actual talent and a coach that knows how to scheme for him.

  27. Crazed Fan Says:

The Bucs need a Rambo type of pirate. A pirate that is war ready. Nothing to scare the kids, but a pirate that knows he’s a pirate and not Barney’s next door neighbor. Put some eye black under his eyes and a banda on his head. Change the slogan siege the day is too whimpy. We supposed to be some rowdy pirates. We’re either taking what’s yours or defending what’s ours. We need that Rambo pirate who lets out a electrifying Argh!!!! With the cannons firing. We need an “Everything is ours” type of pirate. New coach. New pirate.

  28. DB55 Says:

    Fdtb

If you watch the tape it’s obvious.

Last week riddick scored his first td (2yards) on the goal line and they ran right to gmc gap, per usual. They tried it again after he got hurt and got stopped. Riddick had to bounce outside and break contain to get anything going.

Lions ran for 53 yards last week, keep in mind Matt’s hand was hurt too.

The week prior GB ran for 200 yards. Week prior to that 150 rushing yards so yea maybe just maybe gmc is hot garbage but wtf do I know.

If he plays it so he can get 3 sacks to ensure a pro bowl birth. And they’ll all come in the first qrt on 2&2.

  29. DoNUTS Says:

As I expected, no real answers just silly responses.

  30. SmokingJbucfan Says:

I’ll have a good ol’ Ice cream sandwich. He will run through the tunnel and start the game and be crying by halftime. Placed on IR Tuesday morning

  31. patrickbucs Says:

    That’s true DB👍

  32. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

    DB55
And that’s exactly what this team is missing. That I’m playing through whatever if I can walk. However in a lost season id rather him and every other starter rest. Never gonna happen but I want 3rd overall

  33. DB55 Says:

    Donuts

I’d give my right nut for Leonard Williams.

And stop being so sensitive you acting like gm-me.

  34. Buc believer Says:

Sniff Sniff Wittle Gewry weel twwy too pway if you weely want me too! Sniff sniff 😢😢😢

  36. BigMacAttack Says:

    Bucs play better without McCoy

  37. BigMacAttack Says:

But GMC has the best get-off in the NFL. No one gets off the field faster and more often. Colossal waste of money. Bustaneers

  38. orlbucfan Says:

The moron squad led by tampax are always good for a few laughs. You yahoos never disappoint. Thank you cos I needed a few chuckles.

  39. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Bucs record with mccoy is a dumpster fire so no where to go but up wout him, trade him to pats for a #2

  40. Mike Says:

    Tmax com is my favorite

  41. SOEbuc Says:

GOD NO! All he’s going to do is risk injury again and lose trade value or could be less fresh for next year. And LVD has a hamstring issue now. Jason, don’t be a dumbarse.
