Doug Martin Inactive Tonight; “Violation Of Team Rules”

December 18th, 2017

The headline says it all.

Joe’s wagging a finger at you, Dirk Koetter and Jason Licht. Martin never should have been on this team in 2017. All the evidence you needed was in front of you last season.

  1. SteveK Says:

    Wow, not shocked.

Only shocked “we don’t have $17 million lying around” for Calais Campbell?

$7 million wasted on a washed up RB.

    Sad state for Bucs.

  2. EA Says:

I thought Dougie was gonna have a solid year this year, didn’t agree with T-Kras and Joes take on him, I was wrong, I guess he hasn’t redeemed himself, adios.

  3. firethecannons Says:

cut him now–why wait–btw what specific team rule did he break?

  4. Debbie does Tampa Says:

And it looks like we are keeping the GM that brought Doug back this year.

  5. Dom is gone Says:

Another great decision by management blowing up in their face!

  6. Clodhopper Says:

Haha. for fcks sake, Martin!! See ya never

  7. Pa Privateer Says:

THANK THE MAKER!!!!!……C3PO quote in the spirit of Star Wars

  8. Bird Says:

He probably knew he wasn’t starting and acted like a bad teammate and was late to game.

    Adios. Doug Martin.

Man some people can just fool yah. He looks like a nice kid. Think his taste for partying and molly turned him into an expendable overpaid baby

  9. Pa Privateer Says:

Just cut him now. He is gone after the season anyways. Why wait?

Give Barber the reps and see how he does with pass pro.

  10. What in the buc Says:

Never know why he wasn’t traded for a DE or a pick…. now we have someone making millions riding the pine…. and we are keeping that guy in 2018 hmmmm what is going on with us???

  11. buddy Says:

So Licht resigned him and now we have resigned Licht?? Does anyone else see what I see? Licht and Koetter are the problem.

    Woopdie whoo

  14. Angry in CT Says:

So they could of released him with out a penilty before the start of the season now look how stupid they are. Football is a businesses not a family or friend affair. This is the reason there horrible, poor descsion making but the front office and coaching staff. This team infuriates me to no end. We need someone to come in and hit the reset button someone who knows about football and how things are supposed to run.I have been saying this forever there is a reason Mr.Vinik and the lightning are not only winning but spending money being comparative all while selling out for 100+ games in a row. Winning constantly brings fans to the stands and pads the wallet. Glazers are just incapable of making real sports decisions. They get what they don’t pay for i’m sure the bottomline is not as lucrative as there hockey friends down the way.

  15. Bucnut2 Says:

Joe’s- I’ll give you credit, you nailed Martin. Question- are you going to give the rest of us credit a year from now when Winston officially earns the bust title?

  16. mark2001 Says:

I honestly didn’t know that decision was on Licht. I have to believe that Koetter wanted him back and said so, because if he hadn’t, Licht wouldn’t have paid the 7 mil. to a player that Koetter wouldn’t play…and start.

  17. AceofAerospace Says:

Never, ever trust a druggie. They WILL let you down.

  18. Bobby M. Says:

We are such a crap show….

  19. Dave Says:

    Bye felicia

  20. ScottyinFatAntonio Says:

A crap show that will be shown on national TV tonight no less.

  21. JonBuc Says:

Martin and his 7 million dollar salary brought to you by newly re-upped Jason Licht’s Out! When they were off the hook! These Amish owners stagger the imagination.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

More of Dirk trying to cover his a trying to deflect and give himself excuses as everyone calls for his head after yet another embarrassing loss.

  23. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Who made up the nickname Drug Martin????
I swear it is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read on this blog.

Disclaimer : Drug addiction is no laughing matter. It has taken lives, ruined careers, torn apart families and has left strong human beings looking like a shell of their former selves.

  24. Ed Says:

    Who said it was drugs

  25. unbelievable Says:

    Anyone know the violation?

  26. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Bye Doug. Was rooting for you man but I just don’t see it in you any more. I will always remember you tearing up the Raiders your rookie year.
To put into perspective Martin had 1,926 yards from scrimmage his rookie year.
With 2 games left Kareem Hunt (1641), Alvin Lamar (1336), Leonard Fournette (1136).
Douggie was a beast and gave me some good memories, unfortunately he will be remembered mostly for his inconsistencies. Good luck Doug.

  27. Lakeland Says:

The season is over now. Doug Martin has played these fools like a piano. He’s following in the footsteps of Carl Nicks, Eric Wright, Vincent Jackson.

  28. SCBucsFan Says:

Love the hindsight. I bet a lot of posters are great at picking last weeks lottery numbers too.

  29. Lakeland Says:

I wish the inept front office of the Bucs had any sight at all. They gotta be as blind as a bat. They make the dumbest decisions in the NFL.

  30. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

I was wrong also. Joe was right. Smitty is gone.

  31. Pelbuc Says:

This is why this is a sorry ass franchise. The owners reward the idiot who re-signed Martin. Litch should have already been fired instead of extended. Its clear that the players have checked out and the coaches are clueless.

  32. tmaxcon Says:

Im always right. Proven once again… tge gerbil was done

  33. AceofAerospace Says:

I coined the name Drug Martin.

  34. Lakeland Says:

The Glazers picked up Jason Licht 5th year option during the offseason. They still might fire him after the season.

  35. The Anomaly Says:

Licht, Dirk and Druggie can all GTFO. JW too. It should be just J since he ate the W.

    Fools.

  36. Sam Johnson Says:

sometimes “violating team rules” relates to hooking up with a teammate’s wife/gf

  37. BobbyBucs Says:

Joe – you called it in the beginning of the year

Honestly what a slap in the face – a team that stuck by him after he couldn’t control himself

    What a POS
