This is the NFL. Why are we asking for a positive question policy? That is embarrassing, Gerald.

  2. DB55 Says:

Ice cream McIceCream tutti frutti bubblegum rainbow snaps. Don’t hold me accountable bc it hurts my feelings. Where are the participation trophies? Inquiring minds want to know.

  3. lightningbuc Says:

Jesus, first it was Icky Licky Fingers. Now, it is Kumbaya in the locker room. This team is an embarrassment.

Just glad I don’t derive my income from trying to polish this turd on a daily basis like Joe has to.

  4. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Dear new GM trade the ice cream man ASAP

  5. SteveK Says:

Mr. McCoy, in your opinion how you positively describe the defense giving up the booty at the end of games? I’m positive that our defense is bad at the most cruscial times, closing time.

Forget the low sacks, edge rush issues, or the third down short comings, why are we so bad at the end of games?

Koetter calls get questioned about play calling, but how can one rely on this defense at the end of games. Several times this year we’ve folded faster than an oregami master on speed.

I wish we could trade GMC to New York and see how his positive question policy in the face of failure would be received. Lol 😂 local Tampa media will give in, but not Joe. One can’t be a captain, paid the most on the team, and a pro bowler without being asked why the defense can’t get it done.

  6. Tampa Bay Tailgater Says:

GMC….newsflash….you’re 4 games UNDER 500 and will be more before the season is over. We have consistently pulled positives out for the last 10 years…

    “We did some good things….”
    “We didn’t give up…”
    “We fought until the end…”

Sticking your head in the sand and refusing to answer anything you portray as “negative” is why your team is 4-8.

The first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one you dumba$$.

But no, we’ll stroke your ego and tell you great job because in week 10, you decided to run all the way to the ball during practice.

    Get over yourself.

  7. Tampa Bay Tailgater Says:

It’s responses like this why I will not renew my season tickets next year.

GMC is a reflection of the culture problem…pat each other on the back and tell me how great I’m doing instead of how we’re doing as a collective unit.

For crying out loud….someone call someone out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are 31st ranked Defense!!! Passion my A$$!!!!!!

  8. not there yet Says:

Where are all the GMC supporters. Elite with that kind of sorry soft mentality? Dude is garbage and I haven’t seen a pass rush move in years, tired of watching his day ass try and squeeze between two defenders, if he can’t do that he’s out of ideas until the next play

  9. C eh N eh D eh Says:

    TRADE THE CLOWN McCOY ASAP!

  10. SteveK Says:

    TampaBayBucFan,

Very rarely do I see you pissed off. Couldn’t agree more! GMC and his lowly defense are not above reproach. Preach brotha, or mid hermano Pablo!

  11. SteveK Says:

Sorry Tailgater, misread your monikor for another.

  12. SteveK Says:

    Los Big is not ok!

Newsflash Gerald, losses piling up= bad energy

One can’t question the state of their favorite team?

  13. C eh N eh D eh Says:

This is the Bucs problem since he was drafted…Would you “follow” this clown and be inspired to give 125% for a win? The statement on his lone move is so true…If he doesn’t get off the snap quick with his surge on the Oline, he’s useless…

  14. Tampa Bay Tailgater Says:

Thanks Steve! I have given this team the benefit of the doubt but when I have 3 home games left to go and watch a 4-8 team play meaningless football…I’m speechless …I hear this type of attitude it boils my blood that I’m giving my money to these spoiled athletes.

That shows you how disconnected these players are to the fans.

GMC singles out Rick Stroud, like Rick is just asking for his own curiosity. Rick is asking on behalf of all of us and for GMC to do that when he wears the C on his jersey is very telling. GMC wants the big contract, status of being a captain and a fraud “leader” all without the accountability and responsibility of that role when things are going his way. He doesn’t get to chose what to answer, play better and give us somethign positive but that would require more running to the ball which only lasted a game. He’an effin baby and I’m over him and this personality. GUT THE CANCER.

He also challenged fans to show up in person and look what happened when we called his bluff.

Imagine a Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, Barber replying this way? Times have changed.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Hahahaha……You guys act like you’re suprized by his comments. This is the same demeanor he has always had and he will never change.

I’ll hold my stand on our Dline that they are in need of leadership and accountability and Gerald is not that guy…….But rather then blame McCoy I think it’s more fair to blame both GMs that chose to build around him.

Maybe GMC is too engrained and too big of a figure here and will never be questioned as the leader of our Line. That’s the only way I would say to release him. Other then that they need to bring in trues leadership on that line and you can win with a guy like McCoy.

  16. America's Groper Says:

GMC how abiut giving us fans who pay yo a$$ some positive play on the field instead of getting shoved to the side by a single player clearing the lane for the RB to blast through. Or give ussome positive sacks

Lamarcus is just playing follow the leader. Started by maxipad. So one of his 2 followers will do it in just about every thread

    Where is dbs now?????

    Blahahaa

  18. Steven007 Says:

“Hey Gerald, I’m positive this team sucks. Do you have any idea why?” – Um, does that qualify as “positive”?

@JimmyJack, yes, the failure of not building around this talented but uninspiring DT falls squarely on team leadership (GM, etc).

  19. ndog Says:

The question I would ask is. Gerald I am positive you vanish in 90% of each game how do you do that?

  20. ndog Says:

How can anyone watch this guy play and be impressed? I just don’t understand how year after year people say this guy is elite. I mean just watch the games and you see that the effort is rarely always there and he just doesn’t want it that bad. I do 100% believe he has the talent to be a hall of fame player but he lacks almost everything else that it takes to be great. It is truly sad that someone with his gifts just does not love the game or does not have the drive to be great. Fletcher Cox, Aaron Donald, heck even Mike Daniels shows tremendous passion and effort to be great where as McCoy is just happy getting paid and being told by others hes great. How many times in a game do you see guys run right through the gap he created by blowing up field to nowhere? At minimum 10 times a game that happens and how does that help the team?

  21. dooshlarue Says:

    Cancer93 missed his true calling……

He/She should be a supervisor at the DMV.

“Sir/Maam….. you just disrespected me……..Ima haff to ax you to step to the back of the line.
You ain’t be needin to be gettin all up in my face with yo negative talk”.

Time for an ice cream break.

  22. DBS Says:

Right here follower. Blahaha!! See your following again. But then that is all you know how to do Lamarcus.

  23. William Walls Says:

I’ve supported GMC from Day One. The biceps tendon injuries he had in his first and second years in the league actually made him a potentially stronger and better player; but, in hindsight, I don’t think he put in the work required to take advantage of that.

Here’s what I think happens with a lot of athletes, and what I believe to also be the case with GMC. You see this particularly in top selections across all sports. You have a kid who has been orders of magnitude better than everyone around him since the first day they walked onto the field, the court, or whatever. They work pretty hard, but they’re never really pushed, because there just isn’t anyone else with the talent to push them. On the whole, they have it pretty easy compared to the athletes they’re competing against.

But, here’s what I think a lot of people miss. These kids that have this extraordinary talent and the physical tools to make use of it have no idea that they’re NOT working as hard as they possibly can; because,at every level, from kiddie sport, to high school, to college, they’re working harder than they, themselves, have ever worked before. They can only assume blindly that they’re working their tails off; and, without legitimate competition to truly push them harder, they have no real way to know that they’re not.

GMC is the kind of ‘leader’ he is today because he’s never truly known adveristy, so he’s never been truly tested. Now, I still consider him to be a top-three DT talent in the NFL. I don’t think that notion can even be disputed. The man is double- and triple-teamed game after game, play after play, for a reason. His burst off the line of scrimmage is lethal. An OC that can’t find a way to neutralize that burst of his is in for a very long, very bad day. But, because he’s never REALLY been pushed as a player, he’s never developed into the true nightmare DT he could potentially have become. And, because he’s never really had to persevere through adversity as a developing player, he doesn’t know how to handle it now. That’s what got exposed in this video.

  24. Lamarcus Says:

Sorry for following THE BEST DAMN WEBSITE IN THE WORLD TODAY.

    Dbs

OK ok. As a gmc hater as I am and to say I’m have complex thinking about everything but gmc could have a point here. I’m a marketer and it does sometimes help to purge negativity. Calling out positive DOES help build morale EVEN IF UR LOSING. Gmc didn’t word it right.

I’m fair and not a hypocrite. I know it’s not ‘NFL”but the locker room is also a workplace like any other. Sometimes as humans u get to hear all negative stuff about u but none positive I deal with this stuff day to day.

  25. AlteredEgo Says:

WW….BINGO….and this applies to many others

  26. NFLNut Says:

TRADE McCoy ON DRAFT DAY … not because he isn’t good but because he’s declining and this team needs to build for the future

  27. Lamarcus Says:

If I always let my subordinates know all the negative stuff about them will suck the energy out of them cuz they will believe nothing is every good enough. So they dont do nothing to fix things cuz it won’t be good enough. So gmc approach was kinda weird to most but to endure it everyday like myself it is a real thing.

This is perhaps one of the only times I will defend him cuz I can relate. Doesn’t change I feel about him. Just I know where he is coming from.

  28. DBS Says:

If you look at a lot of the people making these comments. If Winston said he did not want to dwell on all the negativity and and stupid things he has done. Plus his offense but only positive questions and try to stay positive and end the season on a positive note? Wow what a different story it would be.

  29. Lamarcus Says:

    Yea dbs

Of course it would. That story would of been worse. But I sit here and I thot about what gmc said and trying to do…. I don’t jump to conclusions and I’m a big gmc hater but this is a time I agree w him. THIS IS REAL PROBLEM. The negativity.

  30. America's Groper Says:

GMC trade value is probably a 4th round pick, I believe other teams can see that is all he’s worth, but his pay will kill the deal. I doubt they could find a foolish to pay what the Bucs are paying him

  31. DB55 Says:

The man is double- and triple-teamed game after game, play after play, for a reason. His burst off the line of scrimmage is lethal. An OC that can’t find a way to neutralize that burst of his is in for a very long, very bad day.
    ——————
This is total bull. Gmc is a 3tech guess what people every single 3tech in the league gets double teamed. But it’s not even close to every play and we can watch tape and put money on it. Lmk.

Second, when is the last time gmc dominated a game? Seriously! He played well in Miami but far from dominant and that was one of if not his best game in recent history.

Seriously I just want to know where you people get your information cuz it darn sure isn’t from the game. I take it that you guys are big fans of AM radio, it’s the only way you can be so clueless.

What you should have said to make this statement true is – gmc has the best get off in the league then they put hands on him and he quits rushing or he blows past his gap and gives the RB a free first down. As long as he gets his 1st qrt sack he’s happy and can tell the media to fckn off. He’s my hero. –

Consider this gmc had 2 tackles on Sunday, one of which came in the 4th qrt (miracle) when he blew up a screen pass but did you notice who blocked him? No one! 1 of 2 tackles for the game and he was unblocked but yea he’s triple teamed every play. Gtfoh.

But that 800k dollar check cleared and that’s all that really matters.

  32. Buc believer Says:

GMC I am POSITIVE you are a girlie boy and you suck! You and your “positive” talk can get the hell out of here. Sapp needs to take you behind the woodshed you pansy.

  33. William Walls Says:

    DB55:

I never said that GMC dominates games, did I? He rarely does, and I wrote about why I believed he doesn’t. But, he DOES dominate how OCs gameplan to play us. Opposing OCs have said so. What I’m suggesting is that, because GMC hasn’t put in the work to become the dominant player he could have been, OCs can successfully gameplan ways to contain him because he’s the only guy on the DL that they have to worry about.

You see, I’m much more inclined to agree with you today than I might have been in the past. If you had actually read what I wrote, you might have grasped that. But, apparently, in your rush to rhetorically smash any perceived defense of GMC, you steamrolled right over what I was actually saying and couldn’t wait to for it to sink in.

  34. DB55 Says:

No prob will. My fault you’re right. Ty

  35. unbelievable Says:

I think GMC is just trolling all his haters at this point. I actually wanted to cringe when hearing his answer, then I started laughing cuz I really think he’s just trolling you guys.

William Walls you’re spot on. I think Ayers may have pushed him a bit his 1st year here, but that’s it. GMC is still a top 3 to top 5 DT, but we have absolutely no one next to him.

I asked this last week of tmax, lamarcus, and DB, but didn’t get any answers:

What defensive tackle consistently takes over games all on his own, without any good pass rushers (DEs or OLBs) playing next to him? You guys act like most of the teams in the league have one, so it shouldn’t be that hard to name a few…

  36. William Walls Says:

Thank you for that, DB. That’s a very classy move, man. Peace.

  37. Kansas95Buc Says:

People wanna bash GMC so much but how much have the Bucs provided help for him? The last de we had that was good was Michael Bennett who we let walk for no freakin reason who WANTED to be on the team. GMC is no Sapp and never will be but lets be objective here. He don’t appear to be the leader/mean type so why are you expecting that of him?

  38. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

LOL @ Now, it is Kumbaya in the locker room.
I nearly spit my beer at the monitor, when I read that!

  39. SoftastissueMcCoy93 Says:

So glad I didn’t renew my seasons tickets after last year. That ish was brutal.

  40. DB55 Says:

    Unb

True story! He is trolling, good for him.

    Atkins and Donald for sure.

Joseph, Graddy and Short but they have pass rushers

Wilkerson and Williams but they don’t always line up inside and don’t have 5 sacks.

Then there’s guys like calius Campbell

Too many variables. Stats vs heart etc. ie graddy and short may not have sacks but try to get 2 yards on them, good luck. They play much bigger than their stats and paychecks.

All I know is this if a team need 2-3 yards they’re running it to McCoy’s side garunteed. Watch the film it’s unbelievable! 😝
