Vernon Hargreaves Did Not Practice

November 15th, 2017

The Bucs’ Wednesday injury report is out.

It looks like Vernon Hargreaves’ quest for his second career interception will have to wait at least a week.

Hargreaves pulled a hamstring against the Jets and Joe saw him on the sidelines in shorts and a black shirt during the second half of the game. That’s never a good sign.

Today, the Bucs’ only day in pads for the week, Hargreaves did not practice. “Limited” would have been nice to see, but Hargreaves wasn’t ready. Joe has no issue assuming Hargreaves will sit this one out on Sunday, the first missed game of his young career.

On the cornerback front, Robert McClain returned from his hamstring injury and was full-go at practice today.

It’ll be interesting to see if he starts opposite Brent Grimes, or the Bucs stick with second-year man Ryan Smith, who has revived his situation with some decent play the past few games.

Also out of practice was Will Gholston (neck), Jameis Winston (shoulder). Other guys were “limited” in practice, but there are no new injuries on the team.

Should be a no brainer to go with Ryan Smith I’d think. This is still basically his rookie year at CB so he could use the snaps.

I don’t get it…. everybody in the state of Florida was clamoring for the All-SEC shutdown CB from University of Florida and then we got him. I wasn’t so sure about taking a CB that is a little too small but makes up for it by also being a little too slow… and now you’re bashing him? How about this? Next time the draft rolls around, instead of you morons touting your hometown heroes that suck, how about you do a little leg work and start pulling for us to take the best player in the country that is available… you know, the way I did a few years ago when we SHOULD have drafted Luke Keuchly and the dummies wanted Trent Richardson OR Morris Claiborne… or the year we took Adrian (One big game for his career) Clayborn with Cam Heyward and Justin Houston were available? Enough with us having to sign or draft the SEC or player from the state of Florida because the majority of the simpletons don’t recognize anybody else’s name.
