Panthers 17, Buccaneers 3

Joe despises typing this, but your Buccaneers are a bad football team right now.

Really bad. They look like the 2-5 team they are.

So now the offense, littered with weapons, can’t show up at home? Dirk Koetter’s big MF stick seems to have been carried away with the rest of the Hurricane Irma debris.

What the heck is going on around here? What a disgraceful game today. Joe would love to meet the Bucs fans who left this game thinking, ‘Man, we really have a nasty, take-no-prisoners football team.’ Joe wants what they’re inhaling.

The “badass” football team Dirk Koetter said he desired does not exist and what remains has driven Bucs fans into NFL Draft talk — before Halloween.

Joe would love to hear the chatter in the Team Glazer suite, as ownership tries to make sense of how their team can’t score points despite a cadre of a weapons and a healthy offensive line.

Three points! Three!

Sorry, Coach Koetter, but Joe’s pinning that on you. You got weapons. Find a way.

There’s a lot of season left for the basement-dwelling Bucs, but if this mess continues, Joe would not be surprised to see a thorough overhaul of the team.

Next Sunday, the Bucs head to the Superdome to face the division-leading, 5-2 Saints.

Stick with Joe for plenty of postgame stuff from the Stadium On Dale Mabry Highway.

    Wow

  2. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Adam Humphries played 3 times as many snaps as OJ and Godwin.

I like the guy, but that should never, ever, ever be the case. Jameis played bad against a good defense. But Dirk did absolutely nothing to help the guy out.

Tank the season. Get yourself a franchise Running back, an Offensive tackle, 3 Dlineman and 2 corners.

As much as I hate to advocate firing yet another coach after 2 years, we need to start over.

Fire Dirk and hire Matt Patricia or Bruce Arians.

  3. ScottyinFatAntonio Says:

Thank the lord that crap show is over.

  4. dexterOHMAN Says:

    QB change is a must

  5. denjoe Says:

I think this makes him “Losing Buccaneers Head Coach”.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Woe is me!

  7. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

Bye bye licht. Bye bye Koetter. Bye bye Mike Smith. Hello to the new era Gruden led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This isn’t the 3-5 2016 bucs. This is awful. Welcome Gruden with a top 5-10 draft pick and find a gm who can draft guys outside of the first round. Yes beckwith godwin marpet are good. Free agent signings and attempts are abysmal. It’s time to move on. Fan base needs to be united and firinf incompetent football people is the right start to that. This town erupts if Jon Gruden returns.

  8. Bkbuc Says:

Hire Bruce Arians and watch this team win 12 games

  9. JameisWin55 Says:

Lets hire a real coach instead of a coach who claim to fame is Boise St Arizona St and underachieving with ATL O

  10. Ed Says:

“There’s a lot of season left” for what? Evaluating players? Coaches?

Certainly not anything good for the fans that have been expecting a playoff contender, not a team like the Browns or 49ers.

  11. BucfaninMi Says:

I’m done. Decades of disappointing Sundays. Just about every other team in the NFL gets it together at some point, not The Bucs! The fans of this team are definitely well knowledgeable of football, because we see every week how it’s supposed to be played. Other teams make adjustments and corrections in game!! Not the Bucs! If Gruden comes back in some capacity I might be back. Otherwise, tear down the whole complex, salt the earth where it stood, and send the debris into space!

  12. Eric Says:

    Season over.

I’d be surprised if Dirk survives.

Please conduct real coach search for once.

  13. Jimmyjack Says:

Anybody notice how Carolinas Dline got better and better as the game went on?

If you want to know why Winston sucked this today that’s why. You gonna play dropback one dimensional football against a team whose strength is up front you are going to get your Azzes handed to you.

  14. Vincente Says:

Hahahahaha this team stinks so bad…can’t do anything but laugh at them now.

  15. D-Rome Says:

Yet most of you will give Dirk Koetter and Jason Licht a much longer leash than you did Lovie Smith. They don’t deserve it. Dirk Koetter is nothing special. Other rookie and second year head coaches have found more success, including our division rival.

    Simple as that.

  16. 813bucboi Says:

Defense came to play…. Good to see Smitty make the CB’s play close up and make in windows tighter…. Winston was bad today….I don’t know if it’s the shoulder but he didn’t look confident today…. He looked like a nervous rookie today…. Still no pass rush…. Third week in a row one side of the ball ain’t come to play…. Very disappointed….GO BUCS!!!

  17. Joseph Mamma Says:

Unfortunately not all good offensive coordinators become great head coaches. Dirk wasn’t a great college head coach either.

  18. Jimmyjack Says:

What happened to the game plan we had last year when Quiz went off. Did I miss something and Carolina revamped their defensive unit?

  19. BucfaninMi Says:

    Bingo D Rome!

  20. Ed Says:

has Jameis lost his teammates, looked like offense was clueless today

  21. BucfaninMi Says:

Gruden offensive HC Dungy defensive HC and Biasaccia ST coach.

  22. Mike Johnson Says:

Thank You lord for providing me wtih liquid courage to watch my Bucs Lose. The Makers Mark was..better than the game!!

  23. Bird Says:

Wouldn’t expect anything else from the joes. Don’t blame Winston. It’s koetter. It’d licht. Its the Glazers. Its mike Evans drops. Etc etc etc.

Somebody commented earlier that the only guy James hit in stride was Luke keuckly shorts passes he gets the guy killed. Long passes underthrown. Overthrown. Stares a guy down from snap. Just not good enough.

How many other qbs would love to have half these weapons.

    Can’t take this mediocrity anymore

  25. BoJim Says:

Remember how stoked we all were during the pre-season? pfft

  26. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

Can we have Gruden please. Fan base will erupt. Time for someone else

  27. NFLNut Says:

    BRUCE ARIANS?

  28. BucfaninMi Says:

@ Bird, that’s why Fitz looked good! He probably had to wipe the drool up first when they called his #

  29. BoJim Says:

Grew up in Colorado and was a Broncos fan till Elway got his rings. But always a Bucs fan first. However, I might go back to seeing what Denver is up to nowdays. 😉

  30. Jimmyjack Says:

Rome is right you guys give Dirk this longer leash then Lovie had yet at least Lovies team had the excuse of being a team that was still being built.

Newsflash…….This team is done being built and they gave Dirk the keys to drive us to being a contender in this league. His team is going downhill under his watch…….There is no excuse and today is a perfect example. We handled the Panthers last year and Dirks team got dominated today.

    This coach blows hard

  31. BigMacAttack Says:

I’m glad Olsen didn’t play, he would have killed us. So Luke Kuechly killed us instead. Kuechly read so many plays today. They’d put 10 in the box and they’d run anyway. I like Dirk but the Bucs have a Coaching problem. And what has happened to Jameis? You can also play great defense on first and second down, but then you give up big plays again and again. Defense was still better. The Buc players as a whole look disconnected, lackadaisical and like they don’t care. Still hope they get it figured out.

  32. AceofAerospace Says:

Every year, Firing Gruden just looks dumber and dumber. There’s not one player on this team that I wouldn’t trade or cut to lure Gruden back. Winston included. I don’t care if he throws for 6000 yards this season, as long as he keeps doing stupid a** sh*t that he pulled today, this team is going nowhere. Year 3 is to long to still be learning the basics. I don’t care how long Gruden has been out of coaching. If Dick freaking Vermile can win a super bowl out of retirement, I guarantee you Gruden can.

  33. Shane247 Says:

Another year p!ssed away! I’m not even certain where the problem lies at this point. Is it the GM? Is it the coaching, Is it the players? Across the board I see massive issues. Bad drafting, over looking positions of need because “this guy was ranked high on our board” (Charles Sims, Roberto Aguayo, Justin Evans, ASJ, etc…). We’ve had terrible free agent acquisitions (too many to list). So overall, the GM is not doing a great job. The coaching has been terrible and we keep repeating the same mistakes week in and week out. We have no leaders on this team! Some of them may call themselves leaders, but I can assure you a Ray Lewis led team, a Warren Sapp led team, or a Tom Brady led team would NOT be playing like this because those guys simply would not tolerate this level of play.

  34. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

    All aboard the Gruden train.

  35. GrudenEnthusiast Says:

    Time for a new regime

  36. ARGH_M8E Says:

A true friend told me the score, I couldn’t watch till later… He saved me 3hrs of punishment is what it sounds like! FCUK these guys lol, weak

  37. Fire Goodell Says:

Dirk has already won more games then Lovie in two years, won the same amount of games Greg Schiano did in two years and needs two more wins to match Raheem’s record in two years.

  38. Season Is Over Says:

Yes, and that is quite an accomplishment considering their successes. Lol. Go Dirk.

  39. DBS Says:

There is Broy34 with his weekly name change. What you crying now?

  40. Ed Schwartz Says:

Carson Wentz and Jared Goff are both 1 year behind Winston, with much less weapons in the passing game yet both are years ahead of Jameis in terms of decision making and throwing the ball on time.

This Buc offense may put up yards but it also punts way more than a team gaining that much yardage through the air.

The big plays have been there all year, only Winston doesn’t have the timing down, he’s a thrower, not a passer

  41. orlbucfan Says:

Somehow there might be something to the fact the Bucs have bad karma. There is no rational reason why we lost this game. 2-5 and no way to win this division. It’s ownership. This team should have been bought and owned by its fans. We long time fans.are used to being in the cellar. BUT this team should not be! Go Bucs!!

  42. Greg Says:

We all support…and in some cases spend thousands of dollars a year the same organization that determined that Raheem Morris was a better coach than Jon Gruden.

We all are guilty of enabling this nonsense. We are all sick.

  43. GrudenEnthusiast Says:

DBS. Thanks for noticing. Pretty sure I’m not whining tho bud. Nice try. Enjoying a Sunday with my wife.

  44. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

    And guess what? Broy34WantsGruden

  45. The Anomaly Says:

You’re just not going to win many games with that many turnovers.

Winston has been ok but he needs to really improve to be that franchise guy.

  46. adam from ny Says:

i’d say right about now chucky is running around with a hard-on in his undies…

and if he comes back to the bucs, he will not gut the team heavily…he will tweak stuff…tweak the weak…

when you don’t speak softly and carry a big stick, you “tweak the weak”…

ready for the return of the chuckaneers

  47. adam from ny Says:

the stick carrier gang is prolly hangin by a thread right about nowzers…

“big paw” must be freeeekin’ pissed AF !!!

  48. denjoe Says:

Dirk Koetter’s big MF stick seems to have been carried away with the rest of the Hurricane Irma debris.

    LMAO!

  49. redtop5588 Says:

i dont think its Jameis losing his teammates as much as it is the team losing there confidence in Coach Koetter i think its just time to move on i wish we never made Koetter HC and kept him the OC i’m not even mad today i just come to terms that this is not the year idk how we are so our Defense actually played good well our Secondary played good glad to see HG3 playing a lot better an Ryan smith did good but our problem is am did not get pressured hit nothing we need help we cant get no pressure its pathetic Jameis just had a bad game hes still so young and learning penalties an self inflected wounds killed us on offense its one or the other good offense no defense or vice versa

  50. FortMyersDave Says:

Man, I hate to say this but Dirk Koetter is simply a Norv Turner clone. Likeable guy who is a good coordinator but can not function as a head coach.

  51. BigMacAttack Says:

Dirk was a good OC. Right now, not so much. He calls a lot of bad plays. Dirk should probably give his “OC” Monkin a chance to call the plays. It’s time for Dirk to be a Head Coach.

  52. Patrick Says:

Norv Turner actually won and took the Chargers to the playoffs. Something Koetter has yet to do here

  53. Thomas Bowery Says:

the Buccaneers are not playing very good football right now. I only know one thing and that is that I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jameis Winston this kid knows how to step up and take the blame for a bad performance and put some of these losses directly on his shoulders. he’s not a whiny little b**** quarterback like some others in this league like Cam Newton. He’s not afraid to shoulder the responsibility for a bad performance by himself causing the Bucs to lose a game. as he says the whole team has to click together for the Bucs to be successful. right now it’s just not happening. one week it’s the offense and the next week’s the and the next next week it’s special teams. this kid’s a natural born leader I think he’s going to take the Buccaneers long way

  54. EA Says:

Of course they rushed to make Koetter the head Guy, they were afraid they were gonna lose him to the Dolphins, you guys remember how it went down.
Gruden doesn’t get along with his players, lets can him a find a players coach like Rah.
Rah is too soft and lost his players lets hire a hardarse like Schiano, that will fix things.
Schiano is too inexperienced , lets hire a proven Coach like Lovie.
Lovies OC hiring record was bad, it was reported that Koetter was the fron runner to get the Dolphins job so they made him a HC so jameis doesn’t suffer any setbacks.

Well here we go again, back to the drawing board.
I’ts hard being a buc fan, all we want is a freaking playoff appearance for crying out loud.

  56. Saskbucs Says:

Yeah it’s official… the Bucs stink. Jameis was bad today, no way around it and I am a full supporter of his. Unfortunately an Evans drop on 3rd down and couple penalties early hurt the rhythm, if there was even any starting, but no excuses for JW. He has to be better. One coach shows up and another lays an egg.

I don’t like changing coaches every 2 years anymore than the next guy but at this point it has to be done. Very frustrating and disappointing season, with next to no hope in a turn around now but all you “fans” saying you are done… beat it. Fair weather bums. 2 years from now the Bucs will be winning and you will be crawling back like you didn’t leave at all. Embarrassing
