Kwon Out

October 4th, 2017

Final injury report released.

Social media posts are not official releases from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bucs fans learned this the hard way again today.

For the second time this season, stud Bucs linebacker Kwon Alexander got Bucs fans giddy with vague social media posts implying his return to the playing field was imminent, only for fans to be slapped to reality when he has been declared out.

So too this afternoon as the final injury report for the week was released and the only Bucs player ruled out for Thursday night’s game is Alexander.

Lavonte David, T.J. Ward and Keith Tandy are each listed as doubtful.

As always, the inactives list will be released 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

  1. Pat Says:

The Bucs already have no pass rush. Now pick two other places on the Bucs defense that the Patriots can exploit. Those two other positions on the Bucs defense would be linebacker and safety. These are exactly the places that we are starting rookies against Tom Brady. It could be a really long ugly night for the Bucs

  2. Rads Says:

Gronkowski questionable with a thigh injury. Limited today. The Pats are notorious for labelling everyone questionable, but it’s still nice.

  3. Rads Says:

    I believe in Justin Evans.

  4. mike n Says:

TB is going to light us up. With our weapons though, we can keep pace.

  5. unbelievable Says:

Sucks. Hopefully he’s ready to go in 11 days. Wonder if LVD or Ward will actually play.

    Next man up!

  6. bucs_365 Says:

I fear we are going to get lit up by Brady-Gronk, and others.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Of course we are going to be lit up by Brady…he lights everyone up….the question isn’t that….it’s how will our offense light them up?

  8. Doctor Stroud Says:

OK guys, as the world’s premiere expert in speculating on injuries at the St Pete Times, you all have my permission to speculate on what is really going on with Kwon. Hamstring and proprioception have been ruled out. The team has lied and obfuscated before.

  9. 813bucboi Says:

lol….the pats have been getting lit up all year….we will be the next team to light their a$$ on fire….after this win, hopefully we’ll get some respect….not from the media but from these bum a$$ so called bucs fans!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  10. mixxx31 Says:

    What 813 just said!

  11. Defense Rules Says:

Thank you Tambaybucfan & 813bucboi. Convinced we can lay 42 points on them tomorrow night if Koetter & Jameis are patient.

  12. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs have to win on offense because Brady isn’t Eli and I’m pretty sure he’s going to know to throw where Grimes is not. If God forbid the defense is in a situation where you have Ryan Smith, Chris Conte and Justin Evans on the field at the same time, Brady will put up 150 points.

  13. AlteredEgo Says:

OK…..that gives him a long rest rehab and recovery….sucks for him missing out on a chance to play against Tom Brady

  14. Cannon Says:

Watch this game be a defensive slugfest… always seems to happen with two teams with good offenses and poor defenses come together.

  15. Bird Says:

Kwon needs to stop posting kryptic messages saying “we back”

Tj ward, Tandy and lavonte doubtful. Man. Not good. Need best linebackers bs this team, the way they run short passes and timing

  16. Bird Says:

    Cmon rain

  17. AlteredEgo Says:

NFL active roster sizes need to be expanded from 53 to 60….all active on game day…..cut the PS in half….

  18. orlbucfan Says:

DK has been building this offense for 3 years. Time for it and him to flower. That happens, NE won’t know what hit it. Go Tampa Bay!!

  19. go for the face30 Says:

So..What is with all this business about Kwon’s injury not being all that serious? 3 games later…

I understand hamstrings are tricky, but it seems to me the Bucs are being a bit coy about the actual severity. Meanwhile I occasionally see Kwon jumping up and down on the sidelines, and hopping on teammates when someone makes a good play. The situation is so weird and confusing to me.

  20. Lord Cornelius Says:

Didn’t think he’d play. He shouldn’t rush back till he’s 100%. Same with Lavonte. I would have been shocked if any new player played on Thursday compared to Sunday other than Martin and maybe Jaquis Smith getting more reps.

NE has a better QB / line than the Giants but their WRs are much easier to check for the most part outside of Gronk. Gronk scares me the most because TEs light us up a lot.

Justin Evans was on the field like all game it seemed last week and held his own at least in coverage. I duno wtf is up with Tandy but I thought he’d be our best shot at FS with Ward the run thumping SS. In general i duno what the plan has been at safety

  21. Zwak Says:

Relax we got this have some faith!

  22. Easy Denman Says:

If we can survive this game I expect all those guys to play next weekend. 11 extra days to recover will be vital

  23. JonBuc Says:

Bucs will need to win the turnover battle, time of possession and avoid long developing toss sweeps from goal to go situations. 🙂 It’s difficult for me to envision a win but I sure would love one!

  24. Warrenfb12 Says:

Justin Evans vs Tom Brady 🤢

  25. Hail2dabucs Says:

Guys and gals ! Ask yourself who’s going to stop Mike Evans? Who is going to stop brate ? No one on that new England backfield will that’s who !I’m also calling it here first , desean Jackson will have a breakout game tomorrow night… Stop all that nonsense about the patsies ! What is this a pats site or bucs ? If we play a not half bad game on defence , and the offence starts to roll i
like our chances ! Go bucs

  26. Defense Rules Says:

Lord c … Tandy got hurt against Giants & is still doubtful. He was actually in for more plays than Justin Evans however (49 plays Tandy to 45 plays Evans out of 80 defensive snaps). Conte got 65 & Josh Robinson got the other 1 snap at safety. Bucs offense got 64 plays to the Giants 80 offensive plays. Bucs must find a way to reverse those numbers against the Pats or we’re dead meat.

  27. SB Says:

We can score 30 on them for sure. Can our D keep them under that?

  28. Dave Says:

This could be a blowout if the offense can’t keep up with Tom Brady.

  29. ScottyinFatAntonio Says:

    Jacque Smith waived!!!!!!

  30. DBS Says:

Time for the high flying offense to get off paper and get on the field. Score early and often. Don’t let them even stay in the game.

  31. Chrisco4Bucs Says:

If it doesn’t rain, 38-34 Bucs

  32. Kobe Faker Says:

    THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS…

remember all training camp and preseason Kwon loafing waiting for regular season game 1?

    YOU CANT DO THAT!!

You need to ramp up intensity and at game 3

  33. SB Says:

Actually Chisco4, I hope it does rain. Our run game is better than theirs and our run D is better too. Win win.

  34. Kobe Faker Says:

    THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS…

remember all training camp and preseason Kwon loafing waiting for regular season game 1?

    YOU CANT DO THAT!!

You need to ramp up intensity and at game 3 preason 95% intensity.

Kwon went from 50% to 100% and hams cant handle that

  35. mike10 Says:

    We’re down 2 safeties?… agains GOAT.. ehh

  36. greg Says:

Looks like we will either win 41-38 or lose 45-10….to think we are stopping NE with this defense is insane….and I hope that the crazy people are right. Play action to Doug Martin will be critical and will open up the field for Jameis against this awful NE defense

  37. SB Says:

Might be an apt call right there greg.

  38. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’m really hoping we are just due to get some sacks and turnovers, because if not, Brady is going to tear us a new one. Problem with Brady is you can’t blitz him either – you absolutely have to get pressure with 4. I’d be shocked if we hold them to under 35.

  39. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Just a bad thought that doesn’t make scense, given Kwon’s tweets, but this smells like the pre-suspension benching of Martin. Could the Bucs know of a failed drug test by Kwon? If so, benching him and getting Beckwith experience early would make some sense. Just my conspiracy theory!

  40. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Hawaiian, I agree with your take about blitzing. Brady gets the ball out so quickly that Blitzing him just gives him an open receiver earlier. We can’t get home when we rush 5+ so he’ll eat us alive. I think we’re better off rushing 3 and dropping 9, playing up on receivers and not lining up behind the marker. That’s the D I’d play against Winston. Drop 9 back and hope he makes a bad read. Brady won’t make a bad read, but I’m not afraid of thier ground game and he’ll get the ball out quickly. Just gotta hope we can tackle them before the marker and disrupt the timing. If we do blitz, we have to get in his face so he can’t step up.

  41. Mike Johnson Says:

To beat the Pats, the Bucs are a team who needs..all men on board and then some. Sorry guys, I picked us over the Giants. But cannot do so with the Pats. They..know how to win no matter what!

  42. SoCoBucsFan Says:

AlteredEgo screw 60. Go 70. 65 active 5 inactive and keep a 10 man practice squad.

  43. Cobraboy Says:

@AlteredEgo: back in The Dat, a WFL roster had 35 players and no PS or taxi squad. Think about that!
