Talks injury

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, may have trashed his shoulder in the first quarter today, but his confidence has not been damaged.

Jameis talked to media in the locker room after the game and voiced plenty of optimism.

“I don’t think I’m going to miss a game,” Jameis said, adding that if the injury wasn’t to his throwing shoulder he would have kept playing.

What the injury reality is, well, that’s unclear.

TV cameras caught Jameis warming up in the second half of the game. That wasn’t the look of a guy team doctors are concerned about, but we’ll know when the Bucs resume practicing on Wednesday.

Ryan Fitzpatrick played about as well as one could have expected in relief of Jameis. The game wasn’t too big for Fitzpatrick. There was a lot of good but too much bad, such as the pick-six that wasn’t because of Mike Evans’ relentless effort and tackle.

Don’t be fooled by Fitzpatrick’s strong plays; the Bucs are cooked without Jameis. Yeah, they might be able to sneak past Buffalo next Sunday without him, but the prognosis for a long stretch without Jameis would be a return securing of a top-10 draft pick.

    Go on Fitz!!!!!!!!

  2. NJBucsFan Says:

If Fitzpatrick does have to start he won’t face a prevent D at the beginning of the game like he did when he started moving the ball. Hard Knocks curse

  3. Broy34 Says:

Anthem chill dude seriously. You’re clueless if you’d rather have Fitz. He was awful

  4. Captain Big Stick Says:

Xrays were negative per Dirk’s postgame.. Jaboo will be ok, hopefully he can learn to score TD’s in the first half during the recovery period!

    go bucs

  5. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Buffalo’s defense is legit. They are in the same caliber or better than Minnesota. This will be a really tough game.

  6. Mr. E Nigma Says:

Just like Alexander was going to play three weeks ago.

He was so awful that he came off the bench and came back within two scores when we were down 31 points???

    What game were you watching????

  8. Captain Big Stick Says:

Jameis could learn something from Fitz by watching that bomb to ME13. That was a heck of a deep ball, something I haven’t seen from JW03 in quite some time

  9. Howard Bass Says:

At this point Joe we could really use a top 10 pick, especially for a pass rushing defensive end. Oh that’s right, Jason Light is allergic to beefing up of D-line through the draft. Never mind.

On the other hand, I really hope Jameis is healthy. We have no real shot without him and he needs game experience to continue to develop in order to take the next step. Can’t progress toward being an elite QB if he’s on the bench.

  10. Nebraska Buc Says:

Kwon Alexander said he wasn’t going to miss a game either and he hasn’t been back since. So I won’t believe that till I see it.

The one where Lavonte David forced a fumble and returned it for a TD. The one where Fitz had 2 INT’s that resulted in 14 points. The one that missed Mike Evans on 4th down down 24-0 at the end of the first half.

  12. Buc1987 Says:

    The one where…lol

  13. Broy34 Says:

Thankyou Hawaiian. I was also watching the one where every throw was behind the receivers. He ran instead of throwing when he had a pocket. And the cardinals didn’t care and played softer defense than Hargreaves. You’re clueless and I won’t waste more time. To blame jameis is fantastically laughable

Arizona is not a good football team. I’m convinced that Bucs are a bad football that Arizona looked good against.

Harvard to Harvard for a TD…1st in NFL history!!

  19. Mr Ed Says:

The team is exposed to be a collection of talent that starts games slow, seemingly unprepared. Koetter is a poor game manager and can’t decide what to be. His play calling is disjointed until there is no choice. He’s not a head coach.

Glazers should ask for their money back from Mike Smith.

And Buc fans should stop caring about this farce of a team. They don’t care, why should the fans?

    IdahoBucsFan1145543,

Idaho is KKK country, no? Do you wear your white hood when you post or do you just keep that in the closet for special occasions?

Jameis has more career passing yards and TDs at his current age than Favre, Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Matt Ryan COMBINED had at the same age.

Read the above again … Jameis doesn’t just have more career passing yards and TDs at his current age than each of those players had at the same age … Jameis has more career yards and TDs than ALL OF THOSE PLAYERS ALL PUT TOGETHER had at the same age.

Outside of you being a blatant racist I can’t think of a single reason you could give to justify your idiotic anti-JW posts.

So I’ll ask again … do you wear your white hood while you post?

By the way, I don’t actually care what you (Idaho, BucsAnthem, etc) say or think so feel free to ignore my posts and questions … now and then I just find it fun to poke fun at such obviously disturbed individuals such as yourselves … carry on.

  22. EA Says:

NFL nut do you have a stat fetish or a crush on Winston? you post this same BS 5 times every week, nobody gives a rats ass.
Watching Fitzpatrick play for the Jets was painful but at this point why not start him for a couple of games just to see where this offense stands. Let Winston rest for a couple weeks and hopefully he comes back stronger the rest of the way, it’s not like he’s lighting it up right now.
I understand that certain jobs in the front office may be linked to Winston’s success but a couple of weeks of sitting and watching may humble Jameis a little bit.

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

What part of being a consistent Losing team do you fellow Buc fans Not..understand? We have beat 2 teams with losing records. You are what your record says you are. And 2-3 says you are a below average team. Less than 500.
6 out of the next 8 are on the road. And Nobody feels sorry for us. Keep it up Bucs, you might have a top 5 draft choice next year. I am placing the blame directly on the savior..Coach Koetter.

  24. NFLNut Says:

    EA,

    I post FACTS … if you don’t like them, I don’t care.

BTW … Jameis was 3rd in the NFL in yards per game and 7th in the NFL in yards per attempt per game and on pace for 4,792 yards, 28 TDs and 12 picks … THAT IS THE EPITOME of “lighting it up” … and puts almost ALL the rest of the NFL QBs this year to shame … it’s just not good enough for you because unless the young man plays like God on a football field you will find a way to rip him … you’re a joke.

  25. Shane Says:

This defense cannot keep putting this team in a hole. You give up a score on the first possession now your offense is feeling all kinds of pressure. The success in second half was due to soft coverage and Patrick Peterson being out. That’s fools gold. We cannot keep coming out flat. I think most of it is the coaching staff not preparing these guys and the playcalling is atrocious.

  26. FortMyersDave Says:

Mike Johnson says the Bucs might be on their way to a top 5 draft pick. Normally I’d attribute that to normal troll talk out of some of the posters who actually seem angrier when the Bucs win then after they get bent over like they did in the desert or up in Minneapolis…. Yet after yesterday I would dare say that the Bucs could be a 4-12 club and they could be drafting in the top 5 though I think Cleveland probably has the #1 slot sewn up with the Bears and Giants winning (two teams that all the trolls say were destined for the top of the draft). This is a weird season: teams like Denver and the ATL lose despite being 14 point underdogs, the Bears win a road game for the first time in 2 years, Rodgers out indefinitely, etc… Yet the Bucs manage to maintain consistency: fall behind on the road big again and simply have poor game planning, execution and clock management. I called for Lovie’s head for losing to the Skins after being up 24-0 but Koetter being down 31-0 is far more embarrassing. Should Koetter’s seat be getting warm??????? Its the same old Bucs with some new fancy wrapping! Jeez, I thought this team could go 9-7 or 6-10 after the Bears game now I suspect they might go 0-8 on the road and 4-4 at home: pathetic and Koetter and his coaches have to take the blame. BTW: the only reason I think the Bucs could win any more games is that they probably will surprise someone (like Lovie’s ’15 squad did in Pittsburgh) and it would probably screw them in the long run like Gruden’s Bucs beating Cleveland in ’07 to go 4-12 instead of 3-13 and allowing Detroit and the Browns to pass them in the draft order thus missing on Megatron and Joe Thomas and ending up with Gaines Adams who unfortunately had a very short career as well as life. And memo to GM Licht: add Hargeaves to the list of early round busts on your resume; that guy alone can turn a good defense into a mediocre sieve and the Bucs are bad on D with or without him…. You bought some bad groceries for Koetter and he is not a very good cook. Where is Chuckie?????

  27. Zwak Says:

Your not going to miss a game? You’ve already missed many so far this year!

  28. Clodhopper Says:

Does it even matter? We can get embarrassed just as easy without him as we can with him!!

  29. DoNUTS Says:

#3 is tough to watch right now. A sideline look may not be the worst thing in the world for him. Fitz played better than him but Fitz is not a here to be starter. Yes INTs were ugly but when your playing down 20+ points you tend to take risks that a normal scoring game may not occur.

Lets be real. This team is not going anywhere. If you think playoffs, you are not paying attention. The problems extend beyond the QB too. VH3 also needs to look on from the sideline too. Where is TJ Ward? The Bucs are cursed when it comes to FA. I am not sure Mike Smith gets a HC position in the NFL like rumored here; his def plan looks soft. Im stunned by the lack of pressure considering we have Smith and Hayes coaching them. It makes me wonder what is really going on in that D meeting room.

  30. Nick2 Says:

Fitz can go on a streak. He has done it in the past. Problem is he usually sputters right at playoff time. Didnt he throw like 6 pics last year or the year before in a playoff deciding game? That being said he has two really good receivers and maybe he can get Godwin more involved. Why Koetter hasnt done that yet is beyond me. We need more playmakers and Godwin has yet to be heard of to any degree. The fact Desean is not getting more design plays to get him open is troubling as well. Come on Dirk go back to the frickin lab or Chucky will be here with his lab assistants next year and you wont!!!!!

  31. 813bucboi Says:

i think pulling him pissed a lot of players off including Winston himself….I don’t think he was given a fair chance to fight and battle back….dirk is in over his head….GO BUCS!!!!

  32. denjoe Says:

Koetter knew it was over and didn’t think it would end up close,
so the injury would be used as a diversion away from HIm,Smith,
and Licht’s incompetence. That my conspiracy theory! lol
