September 23rd, 2017

The flu bug has casualties.

Swaggy Baker and Jacquies Smith did not make the trip to Minneapolis today. As a result, they are out for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

So apparently Baker has missed the first two game games of the Season essentially. Maybe mr. Beasting will show up for a change.

  2. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    ^Casual Simpleton confirmed.

  3. Oj "I Got The Juice" Howard Says:

Smh. If the run defense doesn’t show up, its gonna be a long a$$ day

  4. Supersam Says:

Looks like Swaggy got his bye week after all…

  5. AlteredEgo Says:

    Swaggy…is Shaggy…

  6. Steven007 Says:

    Blake, what?

  7. Steven007 Says:

Baker didn’t do anything game one. Ditto Ayers. Not that complicated.

  8. Mr. E Nigma Says:

I didn’t know Smith was still on the team.

  9. Nole&aBuc Says:

Fat worthless slug > Swaggy flabby Baker … for Licht a swing and a miss. Remember you have zero chance of getting a hit unless you swing the bat.

  10. mike Says:

    Agreed Nole and Buc

  11. Blake_bucsfan Says:

The fact that you think a NT didn’t do anything, despite helping to hold one of the best rushing teams in the NFL to 20 yards in the entire game, is evidence that you are a casual simpleton.

As is every other hater in this comment section.

  12. bucnut2 Says:

Blake- you are so right. There are a lot of people on this site who are simply not informed.

  13. CT Buc's fan. Says:

Swaggy was part of the D-Line which played a key role in holding the opposition team to 20 yards rushing.

If you feel you can properly evaluate Swaggy or anyone by glancing at the stat sheet but not watching film than you’re better than any NFL scouts and should send in your resume to the Buc’s Personnel Dept immediately.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    CT Buc’s fan. Says:
“Swaggy was part of the D-Line which played a key role in holding the opposition team to 20 yards rushing. ”

He also came out of the game a lot because he was out of shape and not in proper condition…even Koetter said he was winded.

GMC certainly doesn’t respect him. Baker has an excuse for everything and he has achieved nkthing.

Rodgers had the flu last week and played anyway.

  15. '74 Bucs Fan Says:

The loss of Swaggy is a big blow. Watch the film haters and tell me you didn’t see the line of scrimmage get dropped in the QBs lap. Have to say that I’ve lost a bit of respect for the guy for not trying to play.

  16. SeattleBuc Says:

Coach said if someone has the flu they should stay home, so as not to infect the other players and staff. Slow your roll, haters. Give the dude a few games to show his worth, jeez.

  17. Warrenfb12 Says:

    1. Jac Smith out – shocker
    2. Swagger- gets his bye week

  18. bucnut2 Says:

Finally some realistic buc fans take over. Swaggy played very well last week AND Koetter said in has presser, players with the flu we not allowed in the facility. GET REAL guys, Baker is a net POSITIVE for this team, period.

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

Man..I was sorta liking Swaggy there for a minute. But now I’m starting to think…..He’s The biggest SPINMASTER of all Time!!

  20. Blake_bucsfan Says:

For those of you considering taking Buccaneer Bonzai even somewhat seriously, this is the guy who unironically believed that Derel Walker was going to be the 3rd best Wide receiver on the team based on a completely unimpressive CFL highlight tape.

    1. Koetter stated that the entire team needed conditioning work, specifically naming Peyton Barber.

    2. There is zero evidence to support your claim that GMC doesn’t respect him.

    3. Rodgers played with the Flu, now more guys have the Flu, which is the only reason we are having this discourse.

  21. mike Says:

Blakes bugs fan wishes he was fat swaggy’s palm tree

  22. Blake_bucsfan Says:

^Guy with nothing intelligent to add resorts to baseless insults.

  23. Pickgrin Says:

Kwon and Baker out is 2 of our starting front 7. At least we have decent depth that can get the job done in Beckwith and McDonald.

What I’m more concerned about is if Brent Grimes can’t go. He was limited in practice wed, thur and Fri with a “shoulder” problem. Saw a report from the Vikings that Grimes was listed as “doubtful”. He’s listed as “questionable” on Buccaneers.com so I’ll believe that but we can’t afford to not have Grimes out there. Ryan Smith is a BIG drop off in skill and experience at outside CB. Maybe McClain would get a look outside if Grimes is out and Smith gets worked…

Also not sure what’s up with Pamphile but he hasn’t practiced all week and was listed “illness”. Apparently he made the trip to MN. Evan Smith can get the job done if Pamphile can’t go.

Nice to have decent depth for a change at a # of positions. Interior OL, TE, WR, DT, LB, Safety all have solid to very good depth behind good to great starters.

QB, CB, OT and DE – maybe not so much… and RB may well be added to that “better depth needed” list if we get 60% ineffective Doug Martin instead of 40% Pro Bowler Muscle Hamster back in 10 days.

  24. Rads Says:

    Pickgrin. Perfectly said

  25. Kobe Faker Says:

We will not miss Kwon actually

Peeps will soon see David plays alot better with Beckwith than along side Kwon in the middle

Kwon over pursues and is impatient and out of position

Beckwith fights off blockers and stays in position

Our run defense is sound and DC wont win the game

Our weakness and what opposing OCs will do is attack VH3

    Kobe Faker

  26. Rayjay1122 Says:

Flu shots for all players before the season would make too much sense. Yeah, I realize some people are allergic to the shot and I also realize that the shot is not a guarantee against getting the flu but in 5 years of active duty military service where the Flu shot is mandatory yielded no Flu outbreaks. Hopefully this is not going to derail our season with many key players out sick. Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is very true.

  27. Pickgrin Says:

So Kobe Liar says we are better off without Kwon eh? SMH

  28. Kobe Faker Says:

“Hey pick…go get a Bechwith jersey”

    Kobe Faker

  29. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Today I learned that Kobe Faker has gone full retard. You never go full retard man, everybody knows that.

  30. Lunchbox Says:

Blake-your point about Baker-I hear you. But this reminds me of years ago hearing that Rob Halford from Judas Priest was gay and still being surprised after seeing him wear all those goofy leather outfits. Point being-I never listened to what my eyes were telling me. Now with Baker, everything my eyes have seen tells me he’s a fat, lazy bum. I’m listening to my eyes this time.

  31. Steven007 Says:

Blake, your ad hominem is showing (look it up). To date Baker has played part of one game for us. He has, thus far, been nothing but a space eater (granted, it’s a lot of space). He has done exactly nothing more thus far than Silga has (less, actually) and certainly less than McDonald. Does he have potential based on past performance elsewhere? Yes, obviously, which is why we gave him $$$. But he has done nada for us to date aside from things our other guys can do. Thus my initial snark (look it up). If you can’t handle sarcasm, well, that’s just sad. Trust me, I want Swaggy to be a dominator no less than you do. I haven’t seen it yet though and neither have you. I hope we do.

  32. Kobe Faker Says:

“Beckwith is a natural middle linebacker…and U guys can learn alot from Kobe”

    Mike Smith

  33. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Steven007

Hey guess what, I didn’t need to look up either of those, but congratulations on being just as pompous as you are wrong.

    and @Lunchbox Cool story bro.

  34. Steven007 Says:

Sorry Blake, but not one thing I said was inaccurate and you know it. No need to be so negative. There are enough negative posters here. And it’s not pompous when I’m right.

  35. Buc1987 Says:

I think many Bucs fans are always looking out for that FA bust.
Some more so than others. Some expect it it.

Swaggy has been a little mouthy. So I expect some fan’s radars to be pointing in his direction. I’m sure we’re all going to be monitoring a brand new guy that humps trees and trash talks kickers in practice. Blake just jumped into the fray for no reason imo. Hell he started the fray. Bored perhaps?

To me your mouth has to match your play if you’re one of those trash talking players. Same goes for JW. Same goes for every player that “talks”. Walk the walk and most of us will fall in love with you. There’s a few players that I’m watching closely and of course Baker is one of them.

Calm down Blake. LOL It’s game day baby!

  36. Capt.Tim Says:

    Blake, and a couple others
So glad to see a few posters here, that understand Football, and are intelligent.
Its so hard to believe how stupid some posters here can be.

Last year- you could run right up the gut on this team. It was a big weakness.
We aquire One new Linemen, and suddenly we hold a great running team to 20 yards, and they think he didnt make a difference.
    Thats pretty Fning stupid

Hey Baker haters- I’ll make you all a bet
If we hold Minnesota to twice what the Bears ran for (or less)- 40 yards or less,
I’ll post here that Baker is a usual fat ass
If the run for more than 40 yards- then all of you haters will go jump off the Skyway, and spare knowlegeable fans your stupidity!
    Deal?

  37. Capt.Tim Says:

    Lunchbox
You really couldnt Tell Halford was gay- the first time you saw him?
Then that disqualifies your powers of observation!
    Always. Forever.

Kobe – better with a rookie, whos played one game. One game.
Than with Kwon, who will probably be an All pro this year.

You should be banned for live, just for posting something that rediculous

  38. Rod Munch Says:

Has Smith even been practicing? He will be a nice addition when he’s back and healthy.

  39. Rod Munch Says:

Also to those calling Baker a bust… LOL!

First off it’s game 2 of the season, and second off he barely makes more than Evan Smith and is not making starter money. If Baker plays and is any good then great, but if not, he’s out in a year since the Bucs can release him after this season without a cap hit.

Anywho, just an a silly idea, but perhaps he’s actually just sick with the flu and that’s why he’s going to miss the game. Maybe not, maybe he’s faking it, but you can test for the flu so if he has it, then the team knows he has it and the worst thing you can do is put him on a plane with everyone else and make them sick.

    So settle down kiddos.

  40. darin Says:

The flu and out of shape. Well 30 snaps last week, sounds like he had the flu last week too. Cmon Saggy put on your baggy’s and watch the ball move, not your bank app. I guess Laggy will be grilling ribs watching the game like us. Cmon Crabby gime an invite! I wana try that Braggy famous bbq.

  41. tnew Says:

go watch the 3rd and 1, 1:23 left in 2nd quarter. You will understand what Baker does that no one else on the team does. He occupies doubles, while not loosing the line of scrimmage. This was far from the only play, but this was a major play.

All of you guys lifting up Rodgers for playing sick, how many guys did he pass the flu along to? Yeh, way to sack up and come in sick but there are consequences.

  42. Doctor Stroud Says:

Many miles away from my air conditioned office at the Times, my diagnosis is that Baker has (allegedly) contracted an STD (Sexual Tree Disease). Don’t worry guys! I will immediately extract a core sample from Patient Zero in downtown Jacksonville and create a vaccine to cure what ails him. Shaggy will be Swaggy (or is it the other way around?) in no time!

  43. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    Stroud, Lol!

  44. Easy Denman Says:

McDonald is gonna play a huge role today with Siliga spelling him on certain plays or drives. Let go Bucs!
