Dirk Koetter talks DeSean Jackson

In the scramble to craft immediate and effective chemistry between DeSean Jackson and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, it seems Jackson is the man getting highest honors for his work.

Winning head coach Dirk Koetter addressed this subject on the Buccaneers Radio Network this week.

Koetter said he likes the chemistry between Jackson and Jameis right now, and a big chunk of the kudos goes to Jackson.

“I actually think DeSean and Jameis are in pretty good shape as far as their chemistry goes,” Koetter said. “DeSean has done a really nice job, you know, as a veteran player he’s done a really nice job of bending what he does to try to fit in with our system and what Jameis does. I’m really pleased in what DeSean’s done in that area.”

Koetter added, as Bucs know too well, that Jackson was open would have had a second touchdown last Sunday if Jameis hadn’t missed the throw.

Regardless, Joe’s very glad to hear candid Koetter praise Jackson’s work and flexibility. From that quote, Jackson really sounds like an anti-Diva receiver behind the scenes.

DJ needs to get a 100 yard game today and at least one TD catch, or he’s going to start squawking. We’ve already gotten hints of his frustration in not getting the ball. But until he and Mike Evans get their heads out of their fourth point of contact and focus on football, they are both going to be ineffective like they were last week.
