GMC The Actor

September 6th, 2017

Second profession?

In what sure looked like a staged scene, six Bucs stars sat around a large table in a private room at a Tampa highfalutin steakhouse in the season finale of “Hard Knocks” broadcast Tuesday night.

Part of the conversation included Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy saying if not for football, he would be an actor.

GMC had solid reasons. You don’t always have to be in shape and your body doesn’t get beat up. In fact, someone gets beat up for you.

“I wouldn’t play no sport if I didn’t play football,” GMC said. “I’d be acting.”

Bucs receiver Mike Evans jerked back in his chair, smiled broadly, pointed at GMC and said, “You’d be a good actor.”

America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, added, “I could see you being an actor.

GMC went into detail.

“This professional sports is too hard,” GMC said. “It is very difficult. Actors can be out of shape all year and be in shape for one role. We have to stay in shape year-round!

“You know what happens when an actor needs to be in shape? They are just in shape. Soon as you are going to hit them, somebody [yells], ‘Ah, cut!’ They don’t get hit.

“I have to really get hit.”

Now, the question is, after life in the NFL, will GMC try to get a part as a superhero in some movie? GMC’s teammates at the table seemed to joke with GMC that he can’t play a mean character or a villian.

To this, GMC scoffed.

Joe is willing to bet there are some offensive linemen in the NFL that can tell the tale of being on the receiving end of GMC’s ornery side.

Acting seem right…. I bet he would be real good at getting punched in the face…. Like for real – by a superhero…. I’m thinking the Hulk… #HulkSmashesMacFace!!

Hate to say but that was an weird and telling moment. Also add there was someone table set and no show? From who? Weird moment for dm haters. And showed friendly gmc that can’t act mean.

Next remake of Goonies should include McCoy.

I remember a player in high school who just laughed and smiled all the time.
He was very talented and could hit like a sledgehammer. He would smash guys and then get up laughing as if it was just all good fun.

People were actually more afraid of him than the stereotypical TMAX tough guys because we all suspected he was a little wack. Crazy guys are scary guys.

That was one of the funniest moments from the whole series. They were laughing at the the thought of GMC acting mean. It’s just not who he is.

I also thought it was an interesting group of players together- GMC, LVD, Jameis, EVans and Doug. Apparently some of the relationships between different guys are much tighter than we knew.

Ice cream! And you heard it from the horses mouth and the thought of him having any means streak whatsoever was laughable to all the captains.

I’ll just drop this mic here and hope all the jock boys stfu now.

  8. Lamarcus Says:

True I don’t think it was staged cuz someone table was there but no show but Dm sitting w the “stars” was the highlight for me.

  9. DB55 Says:

    “Football is hard…they hit me”.

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

Say DB55, Mean or not, When GM is not playing? Our defense drops off…SIGNIFICANTLY!! Not all good players carry that mean streak everywhere they go. Gerald is good just the way he is. HE has a great personality as a human being and plays hard on the field.

  11. DB55 Says:

But he doesn’t play hard ALL game and that’s the problem. He said it himself he doesn’t want to get hit. Remember that when it’s 3rd and goal with 1min left and the Bucs are up by 4.

    Gmc is weird.
