“Stay In The Fu**’n Channel”

August 9th, 2017

Jon Gruden had words for Jameis Winston on Hard Knocks.

What a textbook, Chucky-The-Madman moment seen in Hard Knocks tonight.

The Bucs Super Bowl winning coach was shown in the quarterbacks room with the Bucs QBs, Dirk Koetter and position coach Mike Bajakian.

Chucky was ranting, clearly finishing up a motivational talk in the room.

“It’s a fine line between 6-10 and 10-6. It’s always going to come down to five or six plays. It’s just, I just feel you coming on, man. You got to keep pounding it. You know, just keep believing in it. You guys are on the track. You’re in the channel of success. Just stay in the channel. Just stay in the fu**’n channel. OK. You guys get there.” Chucky said.

Then, Chucky quickly turned off his fire and acted like the typical friendly but bizzare uncle before quickly exiting the room.

“Love you guys, man. Right down the street if you guys ever need anything,” he said.

Bajakian then closed the door and Koetter, who wasn’t paying close attention, sat up, smiled and sarcastically said, “He doesn’t miss ball, does he?”

That whole scene was an instant classic.

    God I miss that guy.

That was probably my favorite scene too. Gruden is the best.

Koetter was a good sport about it, but i’m sure part of him was ticked off: “i waited 53 years for this job and now the coach with a statue in the lobby is walking around the building rocking his old visor giving motivational speeches and trying to take over my QB room”

didn’t he get a little ruffled by some Gruden criticisms last year to boot?

    Pick6..you nailed it..

after the carolina monday night game, when Gruden declared DK had lost confidence in Winston because he ran on 3rd & 9:
“Again, when analysts say stuff like that, that’s like — when Jon was coaching and someone said that about him, you know what he’d be standing up here saying? ‘That guy doesn’t know what I’m thinking or anything about my team.’ He gets paid to talk on TV. I get paid to coach the Bucs.”

i seriously doubt dirk holds any kind of grudge, but how odd to have to watch the pundit\former coach who “doesn’t know….anything about my team” hold court for a whole day in your building with your squad

DK is way too classy to pay closer attention to the ‘typical friendly but bizarre uncle’ running around the house. You know, DK will speak softly,…

Settle down Chucky. It’s not all about you.

Chuckey needs the spotlight and attention. Koetter doesn’t. He just puts up with it. Chuckey was respected and feared. Koetter is respected and loved. They are both right where they belong, thank fictional heavenly being.

I disagree I don’t understand how you can have a resource like a SB winning coach right down the street and not utilize him. I’m picking his brain regularly if not offering him a job as my O-co or at minimum my qb coach. Remember the chemistry between coach and Jameis during the combine? Epic.

Coach Bajakin is garbage and in 3 chances with 3 diff NFL team the Smitty (Batman) and Koetter (robin) duo haven’t really done jack squat. But hey wtf do I know?

  14. Oj "I Got The Juice" Howard Says:

I agree that Bajakin is over his head. He is supposed to be fixing Jameis mechanics but they’ve hardly progressed in 2 seasons.

Preach. And one could argue screwing with Jameis’ mechanics may have hurt him. Sometimes, you have to let the racehorse be a racehorse.

Quick, name the best-known quarterback Bajakian has developed. (Hint: He once was camp meat with the Bucs.)

I give up Joe… who you talking about?

  17. DB55 Says:

WHAT! Are you guys saying I might actually have a clue? Say it isn’t so! Wow! I can die a happy man now. Geez Louise. Come take me Satan.

Gruden has so much entertainment value

  21. JimmyJack Says:

As a Buc fan I could care less what Gruden is doing currently and would rather see footage of current Buccaneers. But the young man is very entertaining and does spice up the show.

    Jameis will make himself elite.
