Chucky Loves Kwon

August 9th, 2017

“Jiminy Christmas, I love that dude, man!”

Pretty funny meeting between the past and the present.

Of course, when the greatest coach in Bucs history spent a day at One Buc Palace last week, Chucky was followed by “Hard Knocks” cameras as if he was leading dogs around carrying a handful of bacon.

While watching practice, Bucs middle linebacker Kwon Alexander came off the field and Chucky walked briskly up to Alexander, swatted him on the shoulder and said, “KWON! I just wanted to introduce myself, man! I’m a big fan of yours, brother.”

Alexander seemed surprised, both that the lone coach who won a Super Bowl with the Bucs would approach him, and as if Chucky really thought Alexander didn’t know who he was? The look on Alexander’s face was like, for real?

Alexander was clearly honored to hear Chucky rave about his play. It was a pretty cool scene.

Of course, other than maybe referees and Brady Quinn, who doesn’t Chucky love?

I liked when Chucky slapped Kwon in the arse..lol..

I hope Gruden’s not in every episode.

  3. NewTampaChris Says:

Kwon seemed to have no idea who Gruden was.

Too much Gruden. I get why he was included in the episode, but he was highlighted almost as much as the head coach.

Yea I don’t think Kwon knew who coach was. My biggest take away from HK is that this team is young. Kwon was 7 yo when Gruden won the SB. 7!

I could be misreading the scene, but to me it looked like the look in Kwon’s eyes said “whatever old man, I got work to do”.

HBO needs to sprinkle in some “personalities” with high Q or recognition factors so the show is not just full of no names.

We all love #3 and so will others when they finally get to know him. Same for DK.

Chucky is our connection to SB glory…I’m not a giant Chucky fan…he was a losing coach for the Bucs after the SB…but I totally respect his overall body of work…including his time with the Raiders and his work with other NFL teams.
    His overall resume is excellent.

No matter what anybody can say Chucky has EARNED that face time. He was easily the most recognizable face on the show last night and I was glad to see him highlighted up front because he brings credibility to a team just now coming out of a decade of misery.

It also highlights what really matters….these guys are chasing a Super Bowl…that’s what counts! So let’s light this rocket and see if we can reach Minny.

I’m pretty sure Kwon knows who Gruden is. There’s a huge steal statue of Gruden with the Lombardi trophy Kwon walks by everyday at work so you would assume he would of asked, “Who are those guys?” at some point in his two years.

That look Jameis gave Gruden as he was leaving the quarterbacks room was brutal. Yikes!

I agree. The people complaining were probably children when the Bucs won the Super Bowl.

Gruden slapping Kwon on the rear end is why you’ll never have women play in the NFL, not that any would anyways – but can you image the national fake news outcry of that clip if it was some hot female kicker like Kathy Ireland in Necessary Roughness and Chucky just went up and whacked her on the rear like that.

Speaking of that I need to do some research Google image research on Kathy Ireland.

For those complaining about Gruden give it a rest, what they’re clearly trying to do here is say this is a team on the rise, trying to get back to the playoffs – to regain the one time glory they had, even if it was only for a few years. Gruden is a huge national figure when it comes to football, he’s a compelling guy, and man do I like him sooo much more now than I did when he was the coach of the team and cutting Lynch and letting Sapp go so he could sign washed up mid-30 something offensive linemen and an injured 30+ RB Charlie Garner to a huge contract. Oh and dont’ forget throwing a huge hissy fit because Rich McKay wouldn’t sign an old and slow and washed huge Andre Rison. Nope Chucky, I’ll never forgive you for destroying that defense because you had to show everyone you’d win on offense and you could win without Dungy’s team. HINT: You could not.

Anywho I didn’t mind Gruden being there at all, showing the Super Bowl football – as I said they’re clearly just doing a we were once great and now we got the feel of being relevant on the rise again. It’s a simple story and will work every single time.
