Robert Ayers Reviews O.J. Howard

August 1st, 2017

Rookie review

Is there a straighter shooter on the Buccaneers than Robert Ayers?

Aside from being a “naturally pissed off person,” Ayers tells it likes it is and there’s often a negative spin. That’s really just Ayers’ way of staying hungry — exceptionally hungry.

So Joe had to ask Ayers what he thought about facing O.J. Howard in Tampa Bay’s first practice with pads of the summer yesterday. You know, real man-on-man football.

“I mean, he’s a good player, man. Really good, man,” Ayers said of the Bucs’ rookie first-round pick. “He’s aggressive and big and strong and fast and athletic. He’s a good player.”

That’s quite a scouting report from Ayers.

Joe also asked Ayers if he offered any instruction for the rookie Howard. Ayers said, “No.” But he shrugged off the question in general, saying he delivers advice for every player on the Buccaneers — young and old — if he notices something worth sharing.

Ayers added that he gives Gerald McCoy tips all the time, and McCoy passes them on to him, as well.

    Just gotta love the chemistry on this team!!! Yeah is starts with #3 but it runs throughout this team. DK and #3 are just going to harness that energy.

    @Stpetebucsfan

    Actually, It starts with Head Coach Koetter and is oozing thru the whole roster!!!! and even more exciting than just chemistry, is that there are some dynamic players on each side of the ball!!!!! Being able to disguise and not telegraph their intentions is so huge in today’s NFL!!!!!!! There is so much excitement and expectation for this year!!! And From the Coaches down to the players, They will ride the wave of excitement instead of being crushed by it!!!!!!!!!

    Jamies says: Mr Realist, give me some inspiration!!!!

    The Buc Realist says: You got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    “Competition is the most magnificent test in which a human being can indulge!!!!! It brings out all that is best!!!! it removes all that is base!!!!! I have to admit, I love the “post-Lovie” Realist. He was always so negative until Lovie got canned. Now, it like a whole different poster, full of optimism. Im proud of ya!
