Goes above the rim.

[UPDATE] Though the Stick Carriers were slaving at their regular jobs this morning, Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans did his best to get the fans at practice this morning worked up.

Evans caught a dart from America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, for a touchdown on the north end zone. Almost in a continuation of his catch, Evans did a behind-the-back slam dunk on the crossbar.

Fans hooted and hollered in approval.

Evans, of course, was a high school basketball star turned football star in Texas. Joe asked him after practice if that was his move or a tribute to another hoopster.

Evans said initially, no, it was just the right place, right time, right position to do his thing. So when Joe asked Evans again if that was his move or a tribute, he looked at Joe with a puzzled face and said, “That was me.” Joe explained he wasn’t sure if that dunk would be a new signature celebration or if he was paying homage to someone like LeBron James.

Evans broke out into a wide smile and said, “Yeah, LeBron, that’s it! It was him!”

UPDATE: NFL referee Ed “Guns” Hochuli is at One Buc Palace today to offer video presentations of new NFL rules. The NFL has relaxed its celebration rules for players but Evans’ behind-the-back dunk on the crossbar is still illegal.

Hochuli told Joe that players are now allowed to use the football as a prop but using the goal posts as a prop is still verbotten.

I’m ok with celebrations but let’s be honest…morons like TO ruined it for everybody. Going to the padding of the goal post to dig out a pre planted cell phone to fake a phone call is just too much…running to mid field to drop the ball on the other teams logo is just asking for bench clearing brawls…I can’t believe just one guy hit TO for that foolishness…the entire team should have jumped him and beat the hell out of him.

In the Army we would have given him a blanket party!

But I concede the whiplash caused by that clowning was also getting a little ridiculous.
