More DJax Cryptic Messages

May 28th, 2017

More curious Instagram missives.

This is getting to be fun.

Of course, we all remember two weeks ago when Bucs offensive coordinator Todd Monken shared a pointed conversation he had with star free agent signee DeSean Jackson. In so many words, Monken said Jackson must earn his salary.

Fans reacted in many ways — defending Monken or defending Jackson. Naturally, many ex-NFLers working as analysts believed Monken was personally attacking Jackson. Most non-players thought Monken was refreshingly candid and they had no issue with a coach holding a player’s feet to the fire; the nerve of a coach demanding a player to play to the level of his salary!

Since, Jackson has posted interesting cryptic messages on Instagram, including Tuesday, when Jackson posted a photo of Monken trying to tackle (?) Jackson in practice. Jackson wrote: “Monk get out [of] the way buddy.”

After Jackson professed the importance of spring practice but then was not at the OTA voluntary (wink, wink) practice Thursday, he continued on Instagram.

Yesterday, Jackson posted a motivational graphic. “You gotta want this sh!t more than they don’t want you to have it!”

Joe isn’t sure where Jackson is coming from of what is the source of some of his Instagram posts. But Joe likes this. It’s adding mystery and spice to an otherwise tedious underwear football season (outside of the kicking contest).

    @Joe

Jfro-6pak said the same thing!!!!! But it was at 10:30pm in the club!!!!! an hour later we saw him getting carried out passed out like he was a dead body (allegedly)!!!!!!

  2. Eric Denman Says:

    Who cares.

  3. FutureBucsGM Says:

I’ve been adamant since the prospect of signing Jaccpot that we shouldn’t do it. Now that we have, he’s here so I hope he proves me wrong. I can’t but to think Monken was feeling similar to how I was feeling when the idea came around.

I hope they have some kind of clause to protect themselves from Jaccpot taking advantage. Otherwise this just be the quiet before the storm. Dude has potential to be 15 touchdown dude but also the potential to slip the locker room and front office right down the middle. Hope Godwin learns fast we’ll likely need him as early as week 3. I only see DJax play in maybe 3 full games this season.

  4. Cover Deuce Says:

You know the news is slow when the joes are parsing IG posts 🙄

  5. Buddy Says:

I’ve been telling you Jackson is a bad teammate & all about himself-going down to wearing number 1 in practice instead of his correct jersey number of 11, but Koetter has no backbone or balls to tell him to get in line like everyone else on the team. He he will push the envelope all season, you’ll see.. mark my words

  6. Bobby A. Says:

OMG!!! He’s wearing a different jersey number in practice!!! What a locker room cancer!!!!!!
Seriously, dude, I was not as “pro signing DJax” as many, but we should at least give the guy the benefit of the doubt before casting stones. I’m sure he will always have that “all about me” mentality, but I don’t think it is fair to assume it is going to be a distraction. I don’t believe JL and the veterans on the team will put up with it.

  7. Mojiska Says:

If he was brought in to lead i would be worried. But we got jameis evans kwon and co.

  8. webster Says:

    @ buddy

Many players in the league wear different numbers in practice. You are funny trying to equate that to being selfish. Funny indeed.

  9. Pickgrin Says:

Listening to DJax press conference the other day – I detected no signs of selfishness or problematic personality. NONE. In fact the opposite. DJax sounds like a fairly humble guy with his head in the right place to me. We are lucky to have his talent and speed – and I really hope DJax can stay healthy and have a big year for the Bucs.

  10. tmaxcon Says:

Djax is hardly a bad teammate. That’s laughable. He will give it all on Sunday and hates losing. He will not tolerate losing like the previous team leaders with perfect ota attendance have. Not only did the former face of the franchise accept losing he embraced it and taught others losing was OK . The perfect attendance choir boy expirement led by cancer93 has been a huge failure. I trust that djax will be driven to win on Sundays it’s the mccoy lvd, dotson and Martin’s that will derail the new bucs.

  11. LakeLandBuc Says:

Desean Jackson had his own variety show on BET in 2015.

  12. Joe Says:

    Who cares.

Somebody cared enough to comment (ahem). 🙂

  13. Fred E. Bucs Says:

I don’t like any instances at all of players and non-players (coaches, executives, owners) exchanging barbs. No place for it. I didn’t like Monken talking smack publicly about DJax having to earn his money, and I don’t like players publicly ribbing the non-players, expecially the superiors in the organization. My advice I gave to Monken applieds to DJax: STFU.

  14. webster Says:

I love how fans think they can tell other grown men to stfu. Thats comedy.

  15. mike10 Says:

I had to diagram out those double negatives. And I’ve come to the conclusion that he wants it

  16. tmaxcon Says:

give me a loudmouth player that backs it up everyday and all day over these sheep choirboy losers the bucs have put such a high priority on in recent past. that formula is a joke. how’d that turn it out? I’ll remind you over a decade in the basement and not a single meaningful win since the super bowl. It’s SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT lighten up and have fun with it. all you up tight people with your distraction phobia and perfect little sheep mentality need a lap dance or two it’s sports entertainment

  17. Fred E. Bucs Says:

    @Webster….yo need to STFU!
LOL! Dude, we’re talking about what guys should do, or not do. Lighten up.

  18. Fred E. Bucs Says:

@Buddy, I would fully expect DJax to push the enevelope all season. No one will beat ALL competitors in any business if they don’t push the envelope. But I disagree with you that Koetter has no backbone or balls to tell him to get in line. In fact, I don’t think it would get that far. Koetter will have someone else do it first. But still, Koetter will chew some butt and remind who is boss, and he has no problem sending guys to the locker room who don’t cut it. Better yet, he is not someone on the team the players want to disappoint. And THEY will be the first to tell DJax to cool out. I’ve seen him working up close as an OC and as the HC, and he’s no balless/spineless leader by any stretch.

  19. Not there yet Says:

    Joebucsfan aka tmz Tampa……

“You gotta want this sh!t more than they don’t want you to have it!”

If only that line wasn’t true in all aspects of life lol so what they are not Donald Trump like tweets so since nobody from Tampa was following him prior to this season no need to try to figure his tweets because you can hide or fake personality but not character. I’m sure the real d Jackson will show up sooner than later

  20. grafikdetail Says:

the guy here is for one reason… take the top off the defense… i don’t care what he does as long as he’s able to keep teams from doubling Evans and give the Bucs more explosive plays

  21. Dylan Says:

Lmao it’s funny how I was getting called a retard over using instagram as a variable in the equation. IT VERY IS. Jos I agree he’s sending a message but I know he will show up on game day. Instagram isn’t what makes or breaks a NFL player but guess what? It can provide insight even if your to ignorant to agree

  22. Dylan Says:

You’re * before all the keyboard warriors start talkin sh*t lmao

  23. webster Says:

Anybody that thinks they are an authority on what another grown man should do should stfu!!! There is no law against djax speaking. Again, comedy.
