“When You Look In The Eyes”

April 12th, 2017

Joe has more from Bucs owner Joel Glazer

The written word can’t always describe the intensity in a man’s voice and delivery.

Joe had one of those moments with Team Glazer, specifically Joel Glazer, during the annual chat between one of the most powerful men in the sports world and the dude typing for peanuts on your favorite Bucs website.

As Glazer spoke on the following subject, Joe instantly knew the translation to print wouldn’t capture the raw emotion. The whole moment took Joe back to Rocky III and Apollo Creed explaining the “eye of the tiger.”

JoeBucsFan.com: What do you like about the makeup of this team? Whatever that word “makeup” means. What do you like about this team, the personality of this roster?

Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer: I think we got a great group of guys. We have a nice mix of personality, leadership, good character, hard work. But most off all, you sense the want to win amongst our players. You know it when you see it. When you’ve been around successful teams, you know when you look in the eyes, and you get to know the players and personalities, you know if this group, or this mixture, if these people have that want to win and the characteristics that it takes to take it to the next level and compete for a championship. When I go into the locker room and I look around, I see the ghosts of the past, but now I see what we have today: the formation of a group that has the capabilities to win Super Bowls.

Again, the words are strong, but they don’t match the passion. Joe can vouch for just how much of a Bucs fan Glazer is. Trust Joe, it’s not empty talk. Joe suspects Glazer would be comfortable hanging out with the true Bucs freaks known for commenting on JoeBucsFan.com. (Well, at least as comfortable as a normal person could be.)

Glazer sees the Super Bowl nucleus and is willing to put that on the record here. That’s enough to get Joe jumping rope on a Wednesday afternoon.

    Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawhaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What you mean?

Don’t You mean time has already ran out on GMC aka “Mr Softie”

Time doesn’t matter for him anyways…….he’ll probably be able to only play a full eight games this season and then he’ll be out or hurt for the rest of them.

    Another vanishing post?!?

  5. BuccoDav Says:

I find it interesting that everyone wants “Weapons for Winston” but think that GMC is supposed to be a one man wrecking crew. He’s been surrounded by mostly total SH!T since he’s been here. It’s been easy for offensive coordinators, just focus on taking out GMC and there has been nothing else to concern yourself with.

Agree!!!!! Fist Bump Mr. Glazer! Winston is in their blood too!

    15 more days…..15 more days!!!!

    Thank you Glazers!!!!!

    Fire Them Cannons!!!

  8. Arealbucfan Says:

I love it… Joe says the glazers can see us going to the super bowl and it instantly shifted to how much some recliner coach hates GMC… some dude in my section last year stood up and wished death on Doug Martin… simple as this… if your that unhappy being a buc just F off… we’ll be fine without you.. trust in what they’re building here and go Bucs!!! From one Joe to another Joe…where do you find these so called “fans” New England?

hahahaha remember about 3-4 years ago when the Pats got off to a bad start to the season and their fans started clammering that Brady was aging and started a QB contoversy? True story.

So to whom are you referring to??????

  11. Rob Says:

When a fan talks about Gerald underperforming. It makes me laugh and shows they know nothing about football. Considering coaches and players alike Heap praise on him and these so-called buc fans sit on these websites and thrash him. They know nothing about football

  12. Rob Says:

I also highly doubt the Filthy Rich Glazer boys would ever hang out with us lowly peons commenting on Joe Bucs Fan LOL

  13. JimmyJack Says:

hahahaha some fans don’t like McCoy. Guaranteed they were the same fans drooling on the couch hooked on every little word Mel Kiper said when he stated how McCoy would be the 2nd coming of Sapp in TB………As they realized over the years that Gerald would never be i the same level as Sapp their childish hearts broke. just like realizing the facts about the Easter Bunny these fans were left without an acceptable answer……There is no avenue for these fans to deal with the reality of McCoy that doesn’t hurt them and their foolish dreams. Anger is the only thing they have to hide from reality.

I say agree with these fans. To debate them is to show them reality. Don’t do this to them!!!!!!! Just like the 8 year old boy and the Easter Bunny it is not necessary to smash their dreams. Let them say what they have to say and you don’t have to correct them. They are not hurting anybody let them keep on dreaming

  14. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

No longer 93’s team. Its the Fameis regime now. Screw who ever don’t like it.

  15. feelthepewterpower Says:

Derrick Brooks called us a contender this offseason. The national media still has the old (recent) Buccs in their head. Take football outsiders and their 7-9 prediction, for instance. They still believe we’re not good enough. We have to continue that fire Jameis had at the end of the 2014 season when losing isn’t acceptable (guys joking around in the locker room after Carolina absolutely lambasted us in their crib. We have to get that physical mentality, that swag, that chip on them from head to toe (ala the 2002 had instilled in themselves) that we can beat anyone anywhere. Heck, like Gruden said, we’ll play on the Philadelphia bridge if we have to show the world we can do it.

  16. Bucnjim Says:

Have been on JBF for years all the way back to arguing about Barrett Rudd. I could not stand Ruud for similar reasons why fans do not like McCoy. In my/our fans opinion the Bucs were to quick to hang the face of the franchise on these guys. We’re/are they good? Yes of course! Either of them superstar game changers nope. Happy the Bucs had both, but to be the face of a struggling franchise you HAVE to be a superstar! Someone who does not make excuses as to how much talent is around him. Hardy Nickerson was not only a leader and a superstar on a losing team he showed the young players how to be all pros.

  17. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Some people are just too damn stupid to deserve a response. I should have followed that rule a long time ago.

  18. buc15 Says:

    TMAX in 3……2……1…….

  19. Rob Says:

Thank you for your comment filled with hate, lies and misrepresentation. –Joe

  20. R.O. Says:

Beating a dead horse with Q&A from the Owners Meeting… snore.
Yeah, really beating a “dead horse.” Team Glazer talks once a year. SMDH.–Joe

  21. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Joe, I haven’t seen this anywhere else..can you confirm or deny that Doug Martin has restructured his contract with the bucs? Caught it on Twitter earlier..

  22. USFBUC Says:

We just need a TE, RB, WR, OT, and one more stud player on defense and I think our team will be unstoppable.

  23. Dirks GreatGranpappy Says:

    How can r.o complain

Am I the only one who thinks the joes should find more things interesting? We’re getting 6 to 12 articles a day now. I’m feeling more like 200 to 220

    NEED. MORE. BUCS.

  24. Doctor Stroud Says:

Just read a report indicating that 49ers GM John Lynch (feels weird writing that!) is willing to trade down from No. 2 slot. Would the Bucs have enough in compensation to go that high? Should Licht try? I would say “yes” if Myles Garrett was available. Still, we have multiple needs.

  25. Lord Cornelius Says:

loving the latest walterfootball mock except I’d take Marcus Williams instead of Josh Jones and Samaje Perine instead of Mack (both were available):

R1-Corey Davis WR (#1 WR in the draft imo)
    R2-Josh Jones S
    R3-Marlon Mack RB
    R4-Demarcus Walker DE
    R5-Damonte Kazee CB

R6 grab a big project TE like Michael roberts. R7 grab shelton gibson for your return man and call it a draft

  26. Buccaneer scotty Says:

The days are getting longer and the stories are getting more boring come on 27th can’t take much more! Lol

  27. tdtb2015 Says:

    DC coming for a visit!!!!

Maybe, just maybe there is hope.

    Go Bucs!!!

  28. Buddy Says:

Joe you must be kidding. “One of the most powerful men in sports?” You’ve got to be joking, the glazers are wayyyyy down the list on powerful or good for that matter of the owner chain. Nice try tho.

  29. 407BucLovinHomie Says:

I simply don’t care what anyone sees in this team. Look at the schedule of home games and those away. Unless we go 6-0 in the division, we are a 7-9/8-8 team this year. I will believe different IF our BUCS show it on the field. AND DEAR GOD I HOPE THEY DO!

Have an awesome draft! Looking fwd to it-
