Bucs Return To Work TOMORROW!

April 16th, 2017

Go time!

For 3 1/2 months, your Buccaneers have vacationed across the globe, frolicked with fine women, wasted time on social media and relaxed like wealthy men do.

It all ends tomorrow.

Yes, the Bucs report back for business in the morning. All hands on deck to start the 2017 offseason program.

It’s the march to training camp, which likely begins July 27.

Tomorrow, America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, gets to set a firm tone, as does Dirk Koetter.

Jameis will be made available to the media, as will Gerald McCoy. At 11:30 a.m., general manager Jason Licht is scheduled to have his annual pre-draft news conference. (So if you see smoke rising on Himes Avenue, you’ll know it wasn’t another wildfire.)

Lots of fun ahead.

  2. macabee Says:

The Bucs held pre-draft workouts Friday for 30 players graduated from local high schools or attended a Florida university. They competed for the opportunity to attend the Rookie minicamp on May 5-7. We didn’t hear much about it because as expected, the Bucs will not say who they liked until after the draft as they are looking for UDFAs.

Macabee – We don’t permit cutting and pasting of others’ work here, outside of a simple excerpt. Thanks. That’s why the rest was deleted.–Joe

Awesome! Football season can’t come soon enough!

  4. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Happy Easter Joe. So let me get this str8 the Bucs organization is going go to a former superbowl winning member of this team an ask him to be apart of a scheme to convince the fanbase they are highly interested in drafting Dalvin Cook when they know a MAJOR part of the fanbase highly anticipating that very thing happening. Riiiggghtt. “Hey Booger do you mind risking your credibility for the purpose of fooling our fans”. “Booger-sure whatever you need Boss”. FOH wit that nonesince

  5. CarolinaBucFan Says:

3 and a half months of vacationing across the globe and frolicking with fine women? That sounds like a job I can get behind. Sign me up!

  6. mike10 Says:

Hey who remembers when Geraldini was the voice and face of the Bucs?

Thank u lil baby Jesus those days are behind us

  7. Lord Corn Says:

    Perfect picture for this

  8. Bucnut2 Says:

The smoke is already out there provided by Booger. If he is saying Cook is the pick, forget it. Even if Cook is there, my bet is they don’t take him.

  9. Dewey Selmon Says:

mandatory or will Djax stay in Cali?

  10. Bucnut2 Says:

BTW- when teams are using smokescreens they go to credible people who don’t know that they are being played. See 2014 when Lovie floated that the Bucs were interested in Johnny Football. The Joes and a lot of others fell hard for it. Booger is likely being used as is anyone with influence. The Bucs are doing what they should, keeping their intentions to themselves. IMO it’s least likely Bucs draft any running back with the 19th pick. They may trade down and draft one or take another position at 19, but I bet it wont be running back. Don’t take my word for it, go read Rick Stroud’s article.

  11. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

The same Rick Stroud basically endorsing Dalvin in a piece just last week. Gotcha bro.

  12. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

So VH3 in on the scheme as well I suppose. All I know is this time last season every other day Joe gave us threads on VH3. Draft night came around and VH3 was the selection. Go check the archives.

I know a tank when I see one. According to Sports Science Dalvin Cook has the fastest top in speed of any RB tested in the last five years. His 20 yards split is equal to John Ross. 2.67. Go ahead thinking there is a faster RB in this class. Be My Guess.

  14. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

You want explosive do you Coach Koetter??? Might wanna make it your business to acquire the services of this young man. There are players and then there are special players that happen to play a particular position in this case RB. Dalvin fits in the latter category.

  15. Capt.Tim Says:

    Yay!!

  16. Spartin Says:

Nole on Sat, if the Bucs don’t choose Cook are you gonna become a fan of the team he’s drafted by?

Who ever they draft, I hope has the heart and desire that Winston does because that’s what the team needs!

  17. Spartin Says:

Speaking of volunteer workouts, McCaffery won’t work out for teams because it’s a injury risk, he didn’t participate in the bowl game because of injury risk, would he stay away from workouts like this because it’s a risk? I have posted in here that I prefer McCaffery over the other RBs but now I’m not so sure.

  18. Bucnut2 Says:

If explosiveness is the standard McCAferry is MUCH better than Cook

  19. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

In what world. You can’t be talking bout this one dude. You mean the offensive weapon they are calling him. Not even being called a RB. DC faster and stronger. Go ask the Sports Science people homie.

  20. CarolinaBucFan Says:

I can’t wait for Thursday if for no other reason than to end all this Dalvin Cook talk one way or another. Talk about beating the dead horse

  21. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

McCaffery a pre madona just like Fournette. Not hardly surprised he won’t workout. Was too cool for they’re bowl game was too cool for GameChangers. What’s next a hold out??? Too cool to accept the initial contract.

  22. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

No one is forced to visit this site bro.

  23. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

10 reps from one 0 reps from the other..

  24. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

2.67 20 yard split from the special one.

  25. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

    Joe

So I understand the rules in lieu to your comment on Macabee’s comment. Can we post a larger quotation as long as it’s cited correctly? There’s been a time or two that I have wanted to do something similar

  26. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

    Nole

Your letting your fan hood of the noles bias you a bit. I’m not sold on cooks shoulder. I wish him the best, but having a few surgeries on mine I’m not convinced his durability will hold up. Wish him the best none the less. There’s a lot of risk in picking him up. But I trust licht on this one.

  27. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Surprised Tmax didn’t get up here when Joe mentioned his favorite player……..Mr Happy Smiles for all!

  28. Dooshlarue Says:

    2 things:

I can’t wait for the Ice Cream man, Ol Softy 93, to set the tone for the upcoming season…..we all know how he can fire up a team!

And Spartin, you must be new here.
If NosBos gets proven wrong he’ll do his annual disappearing act.
    Which I always enjoy.

I think it gives his doctors time to re evaluate his medications…after he’s been Baker Acted of course!

  29. Spartin Says:

Nah, not new been around for a few years. I just don’t say much because my points are usually covered by 6 or 7 people. Never really liked beating dead horses.

I’m aware NOSBOS would draft FSU over most players but I think we’re all guilty of focusing on a player we think has all the tools, he just happens to think every player on FSUs squad should be a Buc, to include some of the basketball team and a few track stars. I digress however, and hope we draft the players that will come in and work like Winston does.

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun

I’m not a gambling man, so I won’t place any bets, but I will say this:

I don’t think the Bucs will draft a running back in the first round, or, if they do, I don’t think it will be Cook. You can provide all of these media sources that claim otherwise, but I just do not believe it.

    Why?

Because its the popular consensus. The ONLY time Licht has done the expected is with Winston. If he is claiming he wants Cook, then my belief is he actually does not.

In fact, I suspect that he might be targeting Peterson after the draft, but doesn’t want to forecast his plans coming into the draft. Or maybe he DOES plan to stay with Martin, who I am sure they told that if he overcomes his issues he’s still got a home.

Yeah, I’m sure you will disagree, and that’s fine. And I’m sure you will think of all kinds of names that think you are right. But I still do not believe it.

But let me be clear…I actually would not mind if they took Cook. I would get behind it instantly. I even see a scenario where they take Cook in round 1 and another RB in round 3 or 4. And I would be fine with it.

    I just don’t buy it.
