Chuck Berry: One of the founding fathers of ALL rock n’ roll. What an icon.

  2. BigHogHaynes Says:

Bring in Kapp….we need a back/up in the worst way!

  3. Cobraboy Says:

    Great shjow.

A Guano is history. The staff no longer has faith in him.

  4. Rrsrq Says:

What is the status of Brates health

  5. Buccaneer scotty Says:

I don’t think we need TE but I would not be surprised if they do it! Didn’t think we needed a 2nd plus 3rd round kicker but they did it the list goes on.

  6. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Chuck Berry it turns out was a real POS and should never be glorified

  7. Atlbuc28 Says:

Awesome pod cast! Imo Nick Folk is our new kicker , pressure is pressure, either you can handle it or you can’t, its a dna thing… As for the tight end deal, at the combine it was all about the speed. Once in a lifetime crop of tight ends is all I heard… A lot of talk about match up nightmares for linebackers and 2 tight end sets….. I would rather have a dominate offensive line .

  8. BuccaneEric75 Says:

BigHog, Kap wouldn’t fit with our downfield offense.

Love the podcast as usual. The Ira Kaufman podcast just keeps getting better and better.

But I still don’t understand the mental disconnect that exists surrounding the subject of Tight end at number 1. You have all stated that you view Wide receiver in the 1st as a legitimate possibility that would fill a need.

Answer me this, why would another weapon in the form of a Tight end eat into Cam Brates targets, but another Receiver would not?

Cameron Brate is a phenomenal player that admirably filled the role of another legit Redzone target for Jameis. But based solely on the snap counts, he was a part time player.

What is the status of Brates health

Haven’t heard a peep that anything is wrong

  11. Tom S. Says:

All you have to do is look at how long the immortal Kyle Brindza lasted while struggling like Aguay-no. 4 games. And Brindza actually made 2 FG’s over 50 yards while the 2nd round bust never made one over 43.

That you guys can’t understand that other teams are not going to trade draft picks for garbage players like Aguay-no and Doug Martin is beyond me. Team pay QB’s because they touch the ball on every play of offense, that doesn’t mean a garbage kicker who should have never been drafted in the top 4 rounds is worth anything or a recovering addict RB with 3 bad years to 2 good ones on a 7 million dollar deal is somehow enticing to some GM. Not every GM is as dumb as Licht is.

  12. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

IMHO, Aguayo, who I have named “Senor’ Choke”, will be replaced by Folk.

  13. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Here is what our Coach has to say

Saying Aguayo was not good enough is an understatement: His field goal rate of 71 percent was the worst in the NFL among kickers who lasted the whole season. Aguayo’s longest field goal was just 43 yards, a distance that every team’s kicker exceeded — and two teams had two different kickers who made field goals longer than 43 yards. And Aguayo missed two extra points as well.

With all that in mind, Koetter made clear that Aguayo’s job is on the line.

“I think it’s already proven that we have no problem moving on from a draft choice and playing somebody that wasn’t drafted,” Koetter said. “We’ve got to have competition at every position. Nothing’s a given. If they’re not the best player, then I feel pretty certain in saying they won’t be out there.”

So for Aguayo, it’s shape up or ship out.

  14. Tom S. Says:

Also regarding Luke Stocker, “Rockstar” Mark Dominik traded TWO 4th round picks in 2011 to select him in the 4th round that year as they had a 2nd round grade on him.

While it’s great to say that Stocker staying with the team for his 7th year is a wonderful value for (two) 4th round picks, Stocker has almost half as many receiving yards (382) in 6 years as 2nd round bust ASJ has (713) in 3 years. You can find 250 pound blocking TE’s with no receiving ability on the street for nothing. The “Rockstar” didn’t think he was trading two 4th round picks for a TE who couldn’t get open.

Pop Quiz: Which player has more receiving yards, Freddie Martino in 2016 or Luke Stocker since 2012?

    (A: Martino with 142 yards to Stocker’s 125)

  15. Tom S. Says:

Bucs 4th round picks that were sliiiightly better than Luke Stocker: Kwon Alexander, William Gholston, Akeem Spence, Mike Williams, Tanard Jackson and Dexter Jackson (SB MVP).

  16. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Tom S. You are making entirely too much sense there buddy. Please stop this at once.

  17. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Well except for the Licht being dumb comment. Yes the Aguayo mistake is a bad one, but he is far and away the best GM we’ve had in years.

  18. USFBUC Says:

Kap is a terrible QB I wouldn’t want him as our third string QB. I really hope any calls for Kap to be our backup are sarcastic

  19. Tom S. Says:

Jason Licht is better than Mark Dominik without a doubt. But saying Licht is great because he is better than Dominik is like saying you are really fast because you beat a special olympian in a sprint once. It doesn’t quite work that way.

Licht has his hits and I do like a number of his draft picks (excluding Aguay-no and Dancin’ Charles Sims). Let’s say that for the moment he’s the GM equivalent to a power hitter who gets their share of homeruns coupled with a lot of strikouts inbetween. He hit it out of the park with Winston, Evans, Alexander and Marpet and has a bunch of floppy-hat wearing busts as well.

  20. KingBuc17 Says:

Guys Tight End is a need, with ASJ and Brate on the field we ate Atlanta’s lunch in game one. When Brate went down in NO we had no alternative. We need TE2 that is all around, Hands and Block, Brate is great and our receiving “only” tight end!! I love him and he beat out nucklehead ASJ, who was more talented.. but if OJ Howard is there, you get that impact weapon if Cook is gone. If Oj is gone you get Bucky Hodges in the 4th and draft BPA on DL in Rd1 for impact player.

    Starting line up on Off
WR1 MEvans, Hump, Huff, (maybe VJAX for league Min)
    TE1 CBRate, Westbrook,
    RT Dotson, Gotts
    RG Sweezy, D. Smith
    C Marpet, Hawley, Toms S. Miss(FA)
    LG Pamphile, C. Bennoch
    LT Smith, Wester
    TE2 OJ Howard (Rd1), Stocker
    WR2 DJax, Henderson(Rd4), KD Connon(Rd5)
QB Winston, Griffin, G. Kiel Cinn.(FA)
RB Foreman(Rd2), Quizz, Barber, Simms, (maybe Drug Martin for league Min)

    Defense:
    DE Spence, J. Smith
    DT McCoy, C. McD
    DT Baker, S. Siliga
    DE Will G, Ayers
    SLB Glanton, Bond
    MLB Q Alex
WLB L David, Nickerson Ill (Rd7)
CB Grimes, K. King Wash (Rd3), Josh R.,
    SS JJW, Conte
FS K.Tandy, Maye FL (Rd6), B. McD (1 yr team friendly deal)
    CB2 VH3, Jude, Elliott

K N. Folks beats out Aguyao

  21. KingBuc17 Says:

Also, Kaepernick deserves a chance to be a backup. Your going ot bring him to Tampa Bay, Home of CENTCOM, you better F….ing NOT. You will cause so much turmoil on this team and city. Please we are building a TEAM, Family and Community in Tampa AGAIN and don’t need him as a backup. Let him non-intentionally(BS) disrespect America somewhere else. Please NO!!!!

  22. Capt.Tim Says:

Most of us Love Brate. He is a great TE. But Jameis slaughters out of a 2 TE set. Add another 2nd Tier TE, who can block like stocker- but is a better Reciever. Jameis has always loved his TEs. Make him happy!

Kap for a back-up? It would be sad for the best Buc team in years, to play in front of an empty Stadium. This is the South, AND a Military Town. We have respect here. That P.O.S can stay in California.
Better yet, Rumor has it that he is losing his head over his politics. Probably due to his Muslim girlfriend. Let him gonplay on one of the Middle east minor league footballteams, and loose his head there( snicker)

Agree with opinion on WR, one more Free agent- and draft a young guy.
Still dont know why we didnt sign Ted Ginn. 4th or 5th wr, plus FINALLY solves our return issues
Like Josh Reynolds. Something about the way he plays!

RIP Chuck Berry. Your loss is felt by the entire Music community. Played “Johnny B.Goode” soooo many times in my life! Favorite Jam song amongst musicians.

  23. unbelievable Says:

TE is not the highest priority, but it is a need. Not sure how you guys (one of the Joes and Ira) don’t see this?

Brate is a great receiving tight end. But he is NOT good at blocking. We need a tight end who can do both. Why would you not want 2 TEs on the field that can catch and score TDs?

    Haven’t we been screaming #WeaponsForWinston ?

Not saying we will, but I full understand why people want OJ Howard or the kid from Miami.

And what happens if Brate goes down? We have NO ONE behind him.

  24. Rrsrq Says:

Brate got hurt at the end of last year and we had nothing, as much as I would like Howard, he likely will not be there, but we have to address the position with a quality player.
