Greetings From Indianapolis!

March 1st, 2017

Joe’s live from the combine!

Hello from the state capital of Indiana (across the street from the Indiana state capital in fact) where Joe is presently at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center (nee: Hoosier Dome) in rainy, warm downtown Indianapolis. Both Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht and winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter are expected to hold press conferences this morning.

First, a couple of news bytes to help you start your day.

Be careful Bucs fans, the two following items may depress you.

Joe spoke with a couple of beat writers of the Saints and Browns, respectively. On Nick Fairley, Joe was told don’t expect the defensive tackle to hit free agency. He wants to stay with the Saints; the Saints want him. As always, if the two sides can come to a financial agreement, voila!

Joe was pretty much told the same about Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. He wants to stay with the Browns; the Browns want him. Pryor is not expected to leave Cleveland.

Additionally, Joe was told, despite the claims of Pacman Jones and his ilk, Pryor isn’t a bad guy and is not a locker room cancer. This comes from a respected reporter who is actually in the locker room regularly.

Stay tuned to JoeBucsFan.com and refresh early and often today. Should be tons of Bucs info flowing shortly.

Hope Licht can get some WR help before the draft, too little attention is being paid to the DL also, no one seems to remember how bad the defense was the first half of the season when most of our DL was hurt, if this doesn’t get addressed, like WR and RB last year, which was an epic fail by our GM relying on old injury prone starters Martin (injury prone) and VJax, our DL will be the reason we miss the playoffs, and we will be spending the offseason complaining how our great GM messed up relying on old, injury prone starters MCDONALD and MCCOY, starting to sound like a trend

Indy rocks! I moved to Jacksonville last year though.
Sun king is some great beer and zombie dust is another you should try!

  3. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Who wants to stay with Browns. Comeon bro. Come to Tampa and play with Jameis and be a part of a superbowl contender

    Guzzie

Is right dline needs more attention given the fragile 3 at DT injury histories and the fact gmc disappears half the game each week. Gets her meaningless first half GARBAGE sack then coasts when not being blown up in the run game.

  5. Rrsrq Says:

Everyone wants to stay until a call is made to their agent and finances are discussed. TP went to OSU, so it’s probably familiarity, but the Browns don’t have a QB. How much will a phone call from JW influence a free agent

  6. R.O. Says:

Snore.. won’t turn in BSPN or NFLN until draft night.

  7. SB Says:

Forget about Pryor. Something is not right about the kid if he has the chance to leave Cleveland and WANTS to stay.

  8. The Buc Realist Says:

So glad February is over!!! Its by far the worst month!!! Now the “real” football news is coming in!!!!

Ready for the “real” season to begin!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!

  9. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Pryor obviously doesn’t rank winning as a top priority.

He did a very difficult thing to transform from QB to WR and he is having success in a region of the country he is familiar with (he played for tOSU). Joe can understand. Don’t fix what is not broken.

    Pryor probably likes Hue Jackson.

I don’t get depressed about guys who don’t hit free agency. Not worth my time. I’m concerned about the draft primarily, and then whatever free agents we are able to sign. Playing free agent fantasy is a waste of time.
