Exhibit-A For Banning Mocks

March 24th, 2017

Fraudulent.

It’s not yet April and Joe is starting to pull his hair out. It’s bulls(p)it like this that just drives Joe up a tree.

Mock drafts, if done correctly, if done smartly, if done responsibly, have a purpose.

Doing a mock draft just to do a mock draft with zero research is a slap in the face to reasoned football fans if not a travesty to others who take their craft seriously.

And apparently, Bucky Brooks puts little to no effort into his work.

recent mock draft by the NFL Network analyst brings into question not just his credibility, but it exposes him for doing little to no research. In some circles, a guy pulling crap like this is known as a fraud.

Because folks click on mock drafts like porn and are attracted to mock drafts like flies are to honey, major media outlets push their staffers to do mock drafts weekly in some cases, which makes their mock drafts only slightly more worthy than used toilet paper.

What Brooks did recently was no less than mailing it in. Brooks has the Bucs picking Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis. A linebacker at No. 19!

Of course, this didn’t go over so well on Twitter, nor should it. Bucs fans rightly called out Brooks for putting such bulls(p)it out, rightly informing Brooks that the Bucs already have Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander as starters.

Perhaps because Brooks was exposed, he responded the Bucs need a SAM linebacker, which isn’t inaccurate as we don’t know if Daryl Smith, the Bucs’ strongside linebacker, will return or retire.

But even a casual Bucs fan likely knows the SAM linebacker is a part-time player. Last year, the Bucs were in a nickel- or dime-formation defensively over 50 percent of the time. When the Bucs go that route, the first guy off the field is the SAM linebacker.

So Brooks is pushing the notion that the Bucs should burn a No. 19 pick overall for a part-time player, when they need a running back and an edge rusher so badly? This is grossly irresponsible!

Frankly, Joe expects more from Brooks, who graduated from the University of North Carolina, a top-notch institute of higher learning. With crap like this, it tells Joe either Brooks got into UNC because there was a hole in the fence near the biology lab, or that in his five-year NFL career Brooks took too many hits to the head.

Either that, or Brooks is just plain lazy.

    Yeah that was bad lol

  2. MarcBucs88 Says:

SAM is a huge position for this team. Bigger than QB, I would argue.

  3. Joeypoppems Says:

Yea that was by far the worst mock so far. Makes absolutely no sense for the Bucs to draft a LB that early. Maybe on Day 3 if there is a guy they like for depth, but thats it.

  4. SCBucsFan Says:

Many people’s mocks of late are ridiculous. They just want clicks and attention.

  5. bucsfaninchina Says:

    burn the heretic!

  6. Kalind Says:

    Lol what a clown.

But Joe, we are not drafting a DE in the first man. That kid wouldn’t play. Talk about a wasted pick! At least a SAM would ‘start’ but a DE? He’s behind Gholston, Ayers, Spence and prolly Jacquies….when would he play?

There’s almost 0 chance man. Almost 0. For a 5th DE? No way. I hope they aren’t that stupid.

  7. Destinjohnny Says:

I wouldn’t hate having a badass lb on the sqaud
Especially if he could rush in 3down
I think we are going to draft adore Jackson at 1

  8. Sauerpickle Says:

    Marcbucs88, you’re joking right? Haha….

  9. Bucs fan 727 Says:

Yep couldn’t believe LB, not even the top rated LB non the less, RB, Safety, and or the best talent available

  10. MarcBucs88 Says:

Yes, yes, I was only joking, lol

  11. ISH Says:

Seems like his partner DJ is getting lazy too as of late.. their Path to The Draft show on NFL network is a total waste of time. Maybe they have too many irons in the fire, who knows.

  12. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I like Bucky a lot, but, damn.

  13. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Listen to Bucky and DJ podcast and its usually really good, but I really wonder if teams or even agents ask these guys to pump up certain players, they had a RB a few weeks ago to the bucs and a corner and WR, i still think OL needs to be addressed

  14. Joe Says:

but I really wonder if teams or even agents ask these guys to pump up certain players

You are not far off. Been going on for decades. Go watch “Elway to Marino” and watch how dead wrong Dr. Z was. He was fed so much misinformation he was dizzy.

  15. Cobraboy Says:

I saw a mock that has the bucs taking an OT at #19.

What do you think of that?

  16. C2 Says:

I agree that mock is not realistic… but honestly criticizing another media source for click bait when you run daily articles about Joe Mixon and other farfetched happenings solely to arouse emotions and create clicks smacks of hypocrisy.

  17. BurgDweller Says:

Yeah what a stupid pick. And also, graduating from college alone does not make a person smart. I have come across many college grads who are complete dunces.

  18. stanglassman Says:

Or the 3rd option is the agent representing the player is giving Brooks something for pushing his guy up the draft board. I doubt it’s the case here but you gotta know it happens.

  19. Nick Says:

I absolutely think it’s them pushing a player up because of incentive. Dusty Rhodes hit the nail on the head.

  20. Joe Says:

    C2:

There isn’t a day that goes by Joe doesn’t get a Twitter about Joe Mixon. Joe has NEVER made up a story based on a known falsehood.

  21. ARGH_M8E Says:

    Sort it out!

  22. Maze Says:

Bucky is clearly a moron. Have officially stopped following and listening to that lazy fool

  23. gotbbucs Says:

This guy gets paid for his opinion on football…..let that sink in.

  24. Capt.Tim Says:

    Kalind
Sorry friend, but if the Bucs draft a DE at 19, he will not be behind Gholston, Smith, and Spence for long.
Gholston has no pass rush skills- at all
Jac Smith is in the tub, not on the field
Spence may surprise- but I think he is too small to be a starter. He will be a situational rusher.
    Even Ayers is getting old.
This draft is thick with great DEs.

I souldnt be surprised if they draft a DE at 19
And, as much as I want toys for Jameis- I wouldnt be unhappy, either
We desperately need a pass rusher

  25. MarcBucs88 Says:

Do some of you really believe that Bucky Brooks thinks the Bucs are going to draft a SLB? Lol. How many clicks do you think these “analysts” would be able to generate if they published the same mock draft every time?

  26. MarcBucs88 Says:

    @19 **

  27. rayjay1122 Says:

That mock had me scratching my head too.

  28. Off the Cuff Says:

Christian McCaffrey and Marlon Mack would allow us to line up with as many weapons as Atlanta. We can even steal Dede Westbrook and Ben boulware in later rounds

  29. Bucco bruce Says:

Kiper has same pick for us. I think Brooks just copied his

  30. Chris Says:

Brooks has some of the worst mock drafts in history, and his analysis for draft picks are off by a ton sometimes. I can randomly go back over the years and Brooks mocks ate like throwing darts at a dartboard with a blindfold on.

  31. BuccoDav Says:

If you don’t like the mock drafts, why do you give them attention every day?
I would think you would just ignore them…

  32. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Don’t cry when we take a TE at 19!!!

  33. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Yea I saw his mock and said wtf a LB in the 1st. He always puts out trash but this takes the cake

  34. JP4 Says:

Agree with Joe that these mocks are a huge waste of time, a fap-fest for the fans during the long offseason. They are popular, and people get paid.

No accounting for why fans love them so much…why was Honey Boo Boo, Braxton Family Values, Keeping up with Kardashians, etc., etc., etc., so popular? Some people like to waste precious moments of their lives with the crap other people pull out of their azz.

  35. Skipper Says:

Bucco Bruce, I thought Kiper has us taking Corey Davis. I don’t always agree with Kiper, I do think he actually does his home work and studies team needs unlike Bucky Brooks.
