CBS: Bucs Ready To Attack Calais Campbell

March 5th, 2017

Big spending planned says CBS.

It’s heating up!

Either the Bucs are using the media to leverage Will Gholston’s agent, or Team Glazer and Jason Licht are aching to make it rain and spend big cash to make the Bucs winners.

Consider this report today from CBS insider Jason La Canfora, the same guy who the NFL hammered for somehow breaking news of teams’ draft picks before Roger Goodell could announce them in 2014.

La Canfora claims the Bucs are among seven NFL teams prepared to spend big and they should be among those chasing Calais Campbell and DeSean Jackson.

Joe will not sleep tonight!

  1. Blake_bucsfan Says:

It starts. The era of Bucs dominance is once again upon us.

  2. Steven Levy Says:

We don’t need to attack him, we just need to sign him.

  3. LifeOfABucFan Says:

We have the main thing to attract these guys..a winning season..spend money like if it’s not mine..oh wait, it isn’t..either way SPEND IT ALL!! Let’s get that fookin title again!!

CC and DJ? My lord, can I ask for more this year?

  4. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

It’s nice to be mentioned with the big names again and to actually have a chance to sign some of them. It’s been a rough 12 or so years. Glad we are finally getting back to winning football!

  5. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

One player I really like the more I watch is Jabril Peppers. He is a freak who would be great in our secondary. Would still rather sign Cyprien and focus on other positions in the draft but damn this kid is the real deal.

  6. Jeagan1999 Says:

My wish list: Campbell, Poe, Mangold and D. Jackson! Total cost, $40 -$45 million! Then in Draft, D. Cook or OJ Howard in Round 1, JAbril Peppers I. Round 2.

  7. jthv Says:

We have a 23yo franchise QB with 2 yrs of franchise record breaking experience already … now we’re reaping all of the ensuing rewards. Surrender the Booty!!

  8. Jonzey Says:

I am still sold on Cook in the 1st, we need a game changer running back , go sign jackson, campbell, and Jefferson. Another weapon for JW, Campbell dangerous next to McCoy, and a playmaker at safety.

  9. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

He’ll be here shortly Jonzey just wait on it. I put that on Fameis.

  10. BucinPA Says:

I love Campbell as a FA! Him, safety Jefferson, and d-jax then we can put the checkbook down for awhile. It would be nice to start getting compensatory picks for a change. We worry about that next year.

  11. Jameisbucsfan Says:

If Jameis wants someone on the team we will sign them. Partly because of his pull in the front office, but mostly due to his infectious personality that he is using behind the scenes to influence the free agents.

  12. Dougyballs Says:

D jax ,campbell , jefferson. What a dream. Trade up and get cook. Im good with that too just use a second and a fourth from 2018 to do it

  13. Eric Denman Says:

If they manage to sign BOTH I will be happy even though Jackson is a diva and injury bug is suspect to hit him.

  14. 941BUC Says:

Campbell will not be interested in any other team that doesn’t have Americas Quarterback. Him playing next to McCoy,Ayers and Spence along with Kwon and LVD with VH3 and Optimus Grimes in the back covering WRs and giving them time to get to the QB doesn’t sound any better.honestly I don’t think ananother defense in the league has a more complete and dominant defensive roster than Tampa Bay.

  15. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Dougyball you trying to start a mutiny here mentioning trading up.. Its possible I happen to believe the envelope is as good as already turned inn. But if it comes to that so be it.

  16. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Trade up is not happening. That falls into the wishful thinking category.

  17. Dougyballs Says:

Nos bos. I am the one that told you that im a gators fan and my brother and dad are noles. And I would do that in a heartbeat. But would much rather use 2018 pics to move up. I just can’t see him falling to 19

  18. Rojas Says:

Campbell, DJax, an Mangold. Draft either O.J Howard, Cook, Davis, Harris, trade back, Buddha Baker, Engram

  19. Dougyballs Says:

    Blake
Not sure where you say that is wishful thinking
If you want said player you go get said player
And not here to take sides or bash unless someone is acting like tmaxipad. Because i would be fine with oj and getting a rb later. But i have watched cook run wild for the last couple of years and that is who is tops on my board outside of the untouchable Myles G

  20. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Dougy I’m being fecious,if Licht’s intel tell’s him someone else is salivating he will pull the trigger we know this. But Blake SB remind us daily his combine has been so so. So maybe moving up won’t be necessary at all. But then again I could be wrong they quick to say someone will “looonng Gone”..

  21. Negative Jeff Says:

Campbell and Jackson!!!! Negative Jeff has full blown wood!

  22. Blake_bucsfan Says:

But overall he had a better combine than Fournette. So I’d say he’s the first RB off the board come draft night.

  23. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

And I agree the picks will come from 2018. No worries.

  24. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

It becomes increasingly harder and harder to understand you Blake. You got that pin ball syndrome. You bounce around wit your thoughts quite a bit bro.

  25. Dougyballs Says:

Not sure where you say that is wishful thinking
If you want said player you go get said player
And not here to take sides or bash unless someone is acting like tmaxipad. Because i would be fine with oj and getting a rb later. But i have watched cook run wild for the last couple of years and that is who is tops on my board outside of the untouchable Myles G

  26. Joeypoppems Says:

must every article become a debate about RBs? lol

  27. Mike Johnson Says:

To be big, to want to win it all out, to really go BIG? you gotta think big..you gotta want to win..all out. Bucs have not shown this kind of mentality in along long time. We shall see. But I won’t hold my breathe! Us getting both Campbell and Jackson would…take my breathe..away. Won’t happen.

  28. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Ain’t gonna happen. When a team source says that getting Cook is “wishful thinking” that tells me that trading up isn’t even on their radar.

  29. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Must Pop always ask that question???

  30. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Guess you belive in santa clause too huh Blake.

  31. Joeypoppems Says:

since I never get an answer I guess I do

  32. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Nope, but I know you believe in conspiracy theories that don’t even have an unnamed source attached. So I mean is it really much of a difference?

Like how you said DC running 4.5 twice was “Stategic”

    lul.

  33. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    *strategic*

  34. Defense Rules Says:

Would love to have Calais Campbell on our DLine as much as any Bucs fan, but despite all the tweets & news reports, still have a sneaking suspicion that he’ll remain with Arizona. Calais is now 30 (will be 31 when this season kicks off), Granted he played his college ball at Miami, but he’s been with Arizona since the start of his career, 9 seasons ago. Probably got 2-3 yrs left. They love him out there, and he seems to love being a Cardinal. I know everyone believes that ‘show me the money’ will win out, and that the Cardinals did franchise tag Chandler Jones, but they still might be able to keep Calais with what they have left in cap $$$. Time will tell.

  35. Ocala Says:

Dalvin Cook RB Florida State in round 1
Zay Jones East Carolina WR round 2
Marcus Maye Florida S round 3
    Jon Toth C Kentucky
Michael Roberts TE Toledo round 5
Jalen Reeves Maybin LB Tennessee round 6
    David Jones S Richmond

    De Sean Jackson WR
    Calais Campbell DE
    Brandon Williams DT
    Tony Jefferson S

    And Ben done

  36. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@DR Money talks baby. So does having a young franchise QB.

  37. Dougyballs Says:

Yes it does turn to rb because we don’t have a legit one like a #2 wr

  38. Dougyballs Says:

And of course a team rep would say we aren’t looking at cook. Thats what you do when you want him

  39. Dougyballs Says:

And blake i wrote you a comment but it’s waiting moderation. Might go back and check it out later. Guess i got flagged for I don’t know why

  40. cmurda Says:

Blake, Cook had a terrible combine except for his 40 time. I’m hoping this scares teams off and we can snatch Cook at 19. I’m all about moving up a few spots if need be to get Cook. Getting Cook along with a nice FA splurge and we can be riding off into the playoffs.

  41. Joeypoppems Says:

Campbell seems like the guy to give Arizona a discount but the Cardinals don’t have much to spend so Idk if they can even afford the discount. According to over the cap, Arizona has a little over $17 million in cap space. Idk if that includes the tag they put on Jones or not

  42. Dougyballs Says:

And nos bos. If we end up with cook we will have to get together so i can buy you a beer and you can tell me all about how you rocked blakes world

  43. Dougyballs Says:

If they only have 17 mil. There going to need a chunk of that to sign there drafted players

  44. Joeypoppems Says:

    @cmurda

If Cook’s combine was bad enough to scare teams off, then what if the Bucs were one of those teams?

  45. Blake_bucsfan Says:

awww look NosBos has his own fanboy! How cute!

  46. DoNUTS Says:

I just dont get all the Cook love except that there are alot of FSU homers on here and I dont expect to change their mind. He is not a 1st rounder sorry….tears in yo beer. If he is picked in round 1, I will laugh at that team. How many blue chip lineman did he run behind? How many fumbles? The NFL is so much faster and his combine performance took him off many 1st round NFL boards IMO. You cant suck when the lights are on; his SPARQ score was awful and a good portion of NFL uses that as an indicator of NFL potential. There has NEVER been a RB picked in round 1 with his SPARQ scrore…ever! Yes, the Bucs use the SPARQ system like SEA and other teams who have a prowess of selecting quality players. SPARQ is not the only factor but its the one used to make the groupings for the first 3 rounds.

I like the idea of getting L Murray or alternatively picking the TEN RB Kamara (great hands in passing game) in the second round. I think we should go after OJ Howard with first round pick. I would love to see us get both Campbell and Jackson but it wont happen so I will settle for either but would prefer Campbell. We still get very little pressure on the QB and our division has the best QBs in NFL so that would fit the equation better. I know here comes the hate. lol

  47. The bucfan 88 Says:

Look I really really want Campbell & d jaxs I got a feeling Campbell will be the easiest for us to get with but if we can get d jaxs & jhon Ross if any of u guys think this is a bad pick come on the kid is stupid fast with d jaxs he can show him the ropes then if this man some how makes past the 3rd wave sign Marshall to a nice contract

  48. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @The bucfan 88

Fast don’t matter one bit if you can’t stay on the field. And John Ross has about the worst injury history of any prospect in the draft. Hard pass.

  49. cmurda Says:

@Joey. you never know but the Bucs have the luxury of seeing more of Cook and they know his talent. With that said, I still think we may need to move up and we will find out if Licht is willing to.

  50. Ndog Says:

Donuts so you don’t like Cook but want Murray!!!!? Are you kidding me plus your argument is backwards in that Murray had the great oline and Cooks was terrible. Dude do some reach before posting this slop.

  51. Dougyballs Says:

Blake Fan boy i am not. How long have you been on here junior. Like i said. Check out my post later that was awaiting moderation I agreed with your oj pick and taking a rb later. Agree to disagree if you want but we have a glaring need at rb not te

  52. Joeypoppems Says:

I don’t think the Bucs are scared of his combine numbers, just playing Devil’s Advocate.

I read a short post on CBS sports today saying that Dalvin Cook’s poor testing results combined with his hamstring and shoulder injuries, teams could view him as a 2nd round RB. If he doesn’t improve those numbers at the FSU Pro Day then who knows, maybe he could fall to #19 and maybe even further.

  53. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Joey Lol I would be a whole lot more open to drafting the kid in round 2. But I don’t want to touch him in round 1. And especially don’t Trade up for him.

  54. Dougyballs Says:

And anyone who says cook had a bad combine didnt see where he had 22reps at 225 missed something. It says his shoulders are good to go. Fumble issuses can be corrected as well with proper coaching technique. Vission on the other hand is a unique skill

  55. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Dougy consider it done bro😀. Blake you can’t seriously think we are the only one’s bro. You listen to the commish’s latest podcast. If not check it out bro. See for yourself who the first three callers are asking about my G.

  56. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

See I’m the the most on jbf but y’all crazy if y’all think I’m alone.

  57. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

    most vocal

  58. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

And do believe his 40 were strategic. I mean he had just stood in front of 32 GMs and told him his dream is to be a Buc. I think the young man is aware we pick at 19.

  59. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Well no duh bro, There are plenty of Noles fans that are also Bucs fans. It only makes sense that people want who they know.

  60. Joeypoppems Says:

His numbers were not good at all really besides his 40 time and bench press. I don’t think at this moment he would fall anywhere close to the 2nd round though, but crazier things have happened in the draft before.

  61. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Call me crazy, but I think believing an unnamed team source might be truthful is a whole lot easier to believe than a guy purposefully running slower to willingly drop in the draft and take less money.

That sounds like some ManBearPig type of baloney.

  62. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Yeah Poppems, and Joe would have you believe that Teams don’t even care the least bit about the combine. So he should still end up being a top 10 guy.

  63. MadMax Says:

    Welcome to Tampa Mr. Campbell!

  64. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Cardinals reportedly not going to resign Tony Jefferson or Calais Campbell. And after that combine showing I think Cook WILL be there at 19.

  65. USFBUC Says:

Even on the NFL network they are calling Cook a prototype do it all NFL RB. I am also still on board with trading future picks to get the guys we want this year.

  66. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@USFBUC If the combine has shown me anything, it’s that this draft is incredibly deep. Absolutely no need to trade up for anyone.

  67. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And GOAT if that turns out to be true, Jason Licht needs to take both of them off their hands asap.

  68. Joeypoppems Says:

Idk if Joe meant it that literal. I took what he was saying as teams don’t say “we are going to draft him because he ran a 4.4 at the combine”. The combine workouts are just another piece of the puzzle combined with game tape and interviews and im sure other things.

Besides if they truly just flat out didn’t care then I don’t think GMs and coaches would watch the workouts live and in person. Kind of like the Senior Bowl, coaches and GMs show up for the practices and don’t stick around for the actual game and just watch the tape later.

  69. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

He’ll be right there GOAT now that doesn’t mean its a Dunn deal but he does a few advocated in VH3 and Fameis in the building. I’m sure their are others.

  70. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

GOAT they act like giving away a few 2018s would derail us. Man please wouldn’t be a sole on here complaining if we won next season’s superbowl. Djax Dalvin and Campbell I’d be like consider it Dunn.

  71. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

And Blake Dougy has stated he is a Gator. I think he can see beyond the rivalry an look forward to the compliment Dalvin would be to our football team. Same way I did once we drafted VH3. And unlike my Big Tmax I feel in two season’s he’ll be hard to handle.

  72. JabooBuc Says:

NOS- no offense but if you think a player would deliberately run a slow 40 which could literally cost him millions then you need to lay off the weed. I’m an FSU grad and would love to see DC here, but if it happens it is not because he deliberately sabotaged his workout.

  73. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    Not. Worth. It.

We will have a shot at playmakers in rounds 1, 2, and 3.

Completely, utterly, and totally useless to trade up in a draft so stacked with talent.

  74. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Nosbos how many times do I tell you I’m not a Gator fan? lol.

And I repeat again for the 20th time. This is Jason Lichts show. It doesn’t matter one Iota what our players want. Koetter has some input, but the decision rest’s with Licht.

  75. Joeypoppems Says:

I wouldn’t say trading 2018 picks would “derail” us. Just don’t see a reason to trade them. And saying “well they will be late picks anyway” is a poor excuse to do it. That’s just me tho.

  76. DB55 Says:

Anybody interested in Robert Woods WR Buff?

  77. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Blake
He didn’t say u were a gators fan. He said that dougyballs was a gators fan(which he is)

  78. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Db55
I’ve been talking about him for a couple of weeks. Good consolation prize if we can’t get DJax or Pryor

  79. DB55 Says:

    Goat

    Yup.

  80. TeddyTB Says:

Ain’t nobody trading no damn future picks we weren’t that good last year. I’ll kick Licht ass my damn self if he did that for a RB. Y’all talking like other teams aren’t getting better too or as if injuries don’t happen. We could suck next year, Licht needs to be trying to figure out how to get some more picks for this year!

  81. feelthepewterpower Says:

DJax never plays a full season….keep that in mind. Plus, he’d be our number three….and we’d be paying the guy close to number one money. Cambell had a knee injury late last seaason…IS he the same player prior to the injury????

    Buyer Beware.

  82. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Ftpp That’s why we need to Sign Djax AND draft a Receiver in round 1 or 2.

And it’s why we have to sign Campbell AND Bring back Big Will Gholston.

We need to acquire depth at every position.

  83. Joeypoppems Says:

How would D-Jax be the #3 WR?

  84. Rob Says:

Cook is gone in top 10. Drop mic

  85. feelthepewterpower Says:

IF DJax is in a reasonable price range OK…would NOT get into a bidding war for his services…I guess I am in the minority on this issue as Buccs fans seem to hear a name of a well known player (Peterson, DJax, Marshall, etc.) and instantly want us to sign them, no matter the cost, declining skillset, etc.

  86. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Jenna Laine just did a piece on RBs 51st would fit well with the Bucs, need I really day who sit atop the list. That’s not important tho. What is important is she notes his 759 yards after contact last season. The most in the NCAA last season. Guess it pays to lift more 225 more than 10 times. And that shoulder proves it can more than handle the load. Go to google you’ll see it.

  87. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Jaboo you don’t think he could’ve lodt mills by saying he hopes to be a Buc??? I mean think about it bro, you ate auditioning why in the h3ll would you say that infront every GM in the league. And if I’m a GM can really count on you if your heart was rwally set on being on another team???

  88. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Perfect reason for why he will go in the top 14 picks Nosbos. I don’t think he makes it out of the top 10. But I guarantee you 100 percent if he makes it the the 14th pick, the Colts will take him.

  89. Joeypoppems Says:

you left out the 16 fumbles in 3 seasons part

  90. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Let me break it down to you Jaboo “he said that because he already know’s what the lick read is”. They just spin this stuff like its random. None of us are in those inner circles bro.

  91. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

16 fumbles I doubt that highly Pop. But if you say so bro.

  92. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And Nosbos, just like Vernon Hargreaves didn’t bring up Cook until directly asked about him, Cook didn’t mention being reunited with Jameis until directly asked about it.

Also, i’ll remind you that he said it would be his dream to play with Jameis again. Not the bucs specifically. I’m willing to bet that if Jameis was a Titan Dalvin’s answer would have been the same.

  93. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

The colts Blake😄. We’ll soon see my G. Look at Pop complain about all the Dalvin chatter but he staying up on every head line 👍😉good job homie.

  94. Joeypoppems Says:

And it’s not like he went up there and the first thing he said was “I want to be a Buccaneer” he was asked about the idea of playing with Jameis again and he answered the question.

Just like VH3 didn’t go on that podcast and say “we need Dalvin Cook” on his own. He was asked about Cook and he answered the question.

  95. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

    You reaching now Blake.

  96. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Pop how many yards after contact did McCaffery have last season???

  97. Joeypoppems Says:

“Dalvin Cook, Florida State: His 4.49 40-yard dash was the seventh-fastest among running backs, and he posted a 30.5-inch vertical leap. At 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, he’s got the size and physicality to be a feature back at the next level and could be plugged into Doug Martin’s spot without much trouble. He’s an electrifying playmaker and can catch the ball well. His 759 yards after contact last season were most in college football. Ball security will be an issue — he logged 16 fumbles in three seasons. He also said that he needs to improve in pass protection, a natural deficiency for a lot of backs coming out of college. He said it would be a “dream come true” to reunite with Jameis Winston down in Tampa.”

That is what Jenna Laine said about Cook that you referred too a few minutes ago and it clearly says he logged 16 fumbles in 3 seasons.

  98. Joeypoppems Says:

and yes, I like to keep myself as informed as I can so of course I keep up on all the topics.

  99. DoNUTS Says:

Ndog- sounds like the only person on here who has not done their homework or is so lost in FSU love is you. I have looked at Cook a lot and there are other reason that I think he will drop to round 2. He had to go to Court for an assault response; suspended from team all Summer-negative. While he was found not guilty, he went to Court because he was found by the police to be responsible for a misdemeanor assault-bad. He hit a woman according to the police report. I find guys that hit women to be not NFL worthy. NFL is a privilege even though some of these guys have been told its their right. He has had 3 shoulder surgeries! If he doesnt have an incredible Pro day then he will drop for sure. I get it that you dont want to hear that about your favorite player but its the truth whether you like it or not. I mean we are not talking about passing over Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson or Herschel Walker.

Now about Murray….yes he played behind a good OL with the greatness that is Donald Penn…I would like to think our OL is on par with the Raiders or 1 player away- which I think is JR Sweezy. Sweezy was a big reason Mr. Skittles was a stud. If you look at the all-22 from his last year in SEA, you will see clearly what I am talking about.

You dont have to be an ass about it by insulting people; come with a real argument with FACTS or sit on the side line and hold the clip board.

    GO BUCS!

  100. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Look at’em Starky and Hutch panties in jumble over my homie. Ima keep you two thinking bout Dalvin all the way up to drsft night.

  101. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I coulda swore you posted a different total a few weeks ago so who am I to believe Pop you or her???

  102. Blake_bucsfan Says:

That’s the thing tho, I’m not thinking about Dalvin. I’ve got my list of desired guys for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round. And Dalvin ain’t one of them.

But I really do feel as though Dalvin is going before we pick. And really do not feel that we are going to trade up for anyone.

  103. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Nos you were so ready to accept her words as gospel until Joey posted the negative stuff.

  104. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Murray??? Pa-lease. Dont the raiders have plenty money as well??? Why are they allowing him to walk again???

  105. Joeypoppems Says:

If I posted a different toal then believe her. She is a lot more informed than I am lol.

And I like how you resort to insults when you read information that proves you wrong. I’m a kid at heart so I understand the childish behavior

  106. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Bro I careless about a fumble total, seems like it changes by the week. Couple weeks ago y’all were saying 12 now its 16. Next week it’ll be 20. Who’s really counting.

  107. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I think the discrepancy in the fumble total is that some post his total fumbles number, and some post his fumbles lost number.

Either way ball security is a concern surrounding him.

  108. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

An insult would be me telling you to EAD. So if that’s what you have a taste for then so be it. EAD!

  109. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Oohhh okay Blake we’ll soon see how much it concerns Licht. But Pop im still waiting on that McCaffery total bro.

  110. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I mean seeing is how quick of a draw you two fellas are I would’ve thought you would’ve shown me by now.

  111. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

759yards after contact. Skinny dudes don’t do that all that often.

  112. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

That’s d@$! near a thousand yards AFTER contact..

  113. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Okay okay okay McCaffery kinda frail. How bout you Blake let me those after contact totals on Oj. What you say bro.

  114. Joeypoppems Says:

Don’t see what McCaffrey’s yards after contact has to do with this conversation but all I can find was his 2.5 yards after contact per carry total in I believe the 2015 season

  115. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

What about you SB,I mean tebow outshined him in 3cones. Can a brother get a total anybody.

  116. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Pop gotta come harder than that bro. That was like his bench performance. Weak.

  117. Joeypoppems Says:

And now you want to compare Cook’s yards after contact to a QB and a TE? Why? lol

  118. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/christian-mccaffrey-1.html

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/why-christian-mccaffrey-is-our-no-1-college-running-back/

Ok so according to PFF he averaged 2.5 yards after contact per rushing attempt on average in 2016. He had 253 carries, so that leaves you with 632 yards after contact on runs. He also led all college players again in all purpose yards for 2016.

  119. Joeypoppems Says:

Weak? lol. Weak on what? I gave you the info I could find

  120. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I mean C’mon man don’t let that 759 AFTER! contact quiet you people.

  121. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

😄Thanks Pop I be funnin is all.

  122. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I posted a response but it’s in moderation.

  123. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Fournette Bigger,h3ll may be faster. But 759yards AFTER! contact says he’s not more physical Blake. I say that because initially you were like I want a more physical back. H3ll someone show us Foremans after contact numbers.

  124. Blake_bucsfan Says:

and judging by my recent post’s that go into moderation, it’ll be in that state for a few more hours.

  125. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Fournette missed 6 games this season… So you can’t really compare their seasons bro. But yeah, if Cook is so good, and all the scouts and Gm’s feel the same way, then that’s all the more reason for him not to be available.

But I’ll let you continue with your “wishful thinking.”

  126. Joeypoppems Says:

If Dalvin Cook’s 759 is the most then what is the point of looking up all these guys numbers in that stat if they are lower? lol

  127. cmurda Says:

You guys can play patty cake all night long. It doesn’t change the fact that Licht is going to get Cook in the 1st round. Whatever it takes, he will get it done and we will all be thankful for several years that he did.

  128. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I could find the stats for the last 2 games of the year. But thru the first 11 games Forman has 1056 yards after contact and 111 broken tackles

  130. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Ya see we can come here and critic some combine numbers like that really means anything. But its when he steps on that green grass man.. Booyy looka here.. Y’all take care, I’m out for night. 759 AFTER!!!

  131. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

That’s is missing the last 1 or 2 games. I couldn’t tell by the wording in the article

  132. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Cmurda, No way, no how are we trading up for a Rb. It’s not happening.

  133. Joeypoppems Says:

Interesting. Jenna Laine says 759 from Cook was the most and that article says Foreman has over 1,000. Somethings gotta give lol

  135. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    ^^^^^
This article compared formans 2016 season to Henerys 2015 season

  136. Joeypoppems Says:

I won’t rule out the chance that Licht does trade up but I also definitely would not call it a fact as if it is a guaranteed thing lol.

Dalvin Cook won’t be the only RB they like. He might be the most liked but not the only one. So they would have to like him sooo much more than the next RB on their list, whoever that will be, to have the “get him at all cost” mentality. None of us know how much more they like Cook above the rest.

  137. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Yeah I was just thinking the same thing Poppems. I was really looking foward to seeing Foreman test at the Combine. That Foot fracture will definitely hurt his Draft stock. I was sure he would go in the 2nd, but with an injury like that I can see him dropping to the 3rd, maybe even the 4th round.

  138. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@JoeyPoppems If we trade up for Cook. I’ll permantly change my screen name to. ColorMeShockedIn2017.

  139. Ndog Says:

All I know is there is enough talent in this draft and free agent class to make us serious contenders if we pick the right mix. We all have our thoughts let’s just hope they pick the best players for THIS team and for the long term, no quick fixes.

  140. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Ndog I think that’s something we can all agree on.

Although I’m not sure what you define as a “quick fix.” Because If you’re talking about DJax and Campbell, I think those 2 are the teams must have Free Agency targets.

If Jason Licht comes away from free agency having signed Djax, Calais Campbell, Tony Jefferson, and Nick Mangold – In my mind thats an A+ haul.

  141. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Just saw mock draft with us getting cook at 19 on nfl network lol

  142. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    That’s Bucky Brooks mock 2.0

And it’s full of ludicrous picks. Toss it out.

  143. Pa Privateer Says:

So back to the Campbell article…………….

    Campbell not cook………

  144. DoNUTS Says:

If Barry Sanders…uh I mean Cook is half as great as some of you guys think, he will be gone in the first 3 picks.

Here is another ass kicker…how important is the RB position in the NFL today? Lets look at the past 5 NFL Super Bowl winners….any bell cow (300 attempts-1500 yards) backs on those teams when they won? NO! Ray Rice 660 yards in ’13…Seahawks Lynch (closest) 1300 yard in ’14…NE and Broncos…no bell cows.

Licht has probably 5-7 different scenarios excluding trades to address the RB situation not one on draft day with one guy.

  145. MadMax Says:

Watching the combine replays with no sound allows a different perspective and focus.

  146. DoNUTS Says:

Pa …agreed… Campbell should be the focus of the team and fans. For me, he is the the #1 player in FA. I just heard that the AZ safety Jefferson will not re-sign either with AZ so there is another position of great need.

I am not sure I can handle one more season of Conte…getting smoked.

  147. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

3 major surgeries for Ross. No need to hear anything else. Pass

  148. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

If we are talking about extremely unlikely but wet dream level of excitement we should sign Campbell and Poe. Imagine our D line with Spawn, Ayers, GMC, Campbell, Poe, Jacques…all time great line there.

  149. BuccaneEric75 Says:

NOS-BOS, Blake just fired the cannons across your bow! Sounds like a screen name challenge! Will you change your screen name if we don’t draft Cook?? Come on!! I love it!

  150. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Lol Eric he’s already got a bet like that with TruBucfan22. I think whoever loses has to change their screen name to Buccaneer Princess 😀

  151. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I don’t know, Blake, NOS seems confident enough to take on all comers!

  152. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Ross is the only player I think I would be upset about taking in round 1. He’s always injured and couldn’t even get to his second 40 before he got hurt again. Some players just can’t avoid the injury bug. Speed can’t help when it’s inactive.

  153. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Since we’re debating FSU players, I’d like to take Kermit Whitfield in round 7. I think he’d be a great returner and I think he won’t go in the top 6 rounds.

  154. Ndog Says:

Quick fix meaning short sited with our selections like Cadillac over Aaron Rodgers cause we needed a RB. That kind of thinking is what I’m talking, it destroys teams for years. IE Rodgers SB champ 1st ballot HOF vs Cadillac out of the league is 5 years. We needed both at the time but RB was the more pressing need. Quality should always be the driver if both positions are an option.

  155. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Blake I was kinda leaning to the way you’re talking about Cooks combine, he’s trying to fall some.

  156. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Ndog ok then bud you’re dead on accurate in that case. Agree 100 percent.

And DavidBigBucsFan99 there is no way a dude willingly gave up millions of dollars by sabotaging his own workout. Young kids with no money don’t think like that. Trust me. And I still don’t think Cook did anything to hurt his stock. He just didn’t blow anyone away. All the talking heads still walked away talking about Cook as the most complete back.

Some team in the top 14 picks is gonna fall in love with Cook just the same way NosBos has. After all, there’s a sucker born every minute.

  157. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Donutz
If ur saying lynch is not a bell cow rb u don’t deserve to post on ANY football site ever again. Lol

  158. NFLNut Says:

Dalvin Cook had a bad combine? What?

He ran faster and jumped higher than Fournette and was the 3rd strongest RB measured as well (as Freddie Stephenson is a FB not a RB) … I agree he could easily slide to #19 though do to his past off the field “issues” but from what I have heard he looks up to and respects Jameis a great deal and I personally doubt he’d be a trouble-maker in Tampa.

Man, if the Bucs signs CC and DJax they could draft a:

RB, CB, TE, S, WR, DE and DT … and be all set …

  159. Blake_bucsfan Says:

NFLNut People are saying he had a bad combine because in all the other drills, he was middle of the pack. SB posted that except for his 40, Tim Tebow outperformed Dalvin Cook in every drill.

I don’t think he hurt his stock enough to drop him, some do. But I still stand that his off the field issues will not be enough to drop him to 19. I think his most probable destinations are Jacksonville, New York(Jets), Carolina, and Indy.

  160. NFLNut Says:

I personally don’t see him going before the teens and think the most likely landing spots for him, before Tampa picks are the Eagles, Ravens and Colts … and that’s it. I would be shocked if the Jags or Jets drafted him and a little surprised if the Panthers did as well.

  161. NFLNut Says:

And … if the Bucs pass on him at #19, I could actually see Cook being the 4th RB taken as well, after Fournette, McCaffery and Kamara … seriously.

  162. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Give the checkbook to Mike Smith. Give one blank check to Koetter and send him to Garcon’s house. Wait and see if Jamal Charles’ price tag drops to justify a signing. Draft Jabril Peppers and the rest OL/DL. Depth at linebacker is something I’d like to see addressed too.
As far as Dalvin cook debate… He’s a fine back with a heck of a burst. I just don’t see him as being worth top 10.

  163. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Can’t Say I agree with you nut. For my money he’ll be the first Back taken. This is a copy cat league after all. And A tiny rookie running back with burst and a whole lot of college production got taken in the top 10. And he was a huge success. I just have a strong gut feeling that a team this year will try to emulate that and Draft Cook just because.

  164. NFLNut Says:

Blake, you may be 100% right and if I was a betting man I’d still say he gets drafted before Mac and Kamara, though I really do doubt he gets drafted before Fournette.

I am pretty positive that Fournette will be the first back drafted and while I still think Cook will be the second back off the board I could easily see many teams preferring Christian Mac as he’s a year younger, a far better receiver and seems to be a super high character kid … as for Kamara … I doubt he really gets drafted before Cook … unless Cook’s supposed gang-banger entourage really scares teams ff, but Kamara did have the highest SPARQ score f all the RB’s and blew Cook away in that regard, so you never know.

  165. SteveK Says:

    Morning mock:

Round 1 Pick 19: Jamal Adams, SS, LSU (A+)
Round 2 Pick 18: David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.) (A-)
Round 3 Pick 20: Tyler Orlosky, C, West Virginia (A+)
Round 4 Pick 19: Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami (Fla.) (A)
Round 5 Pick 18: DeAngelo Brown, DT, Louisville (A+)
Round 6 Pick 20: Carlos Henderson, WR, Louisiana Tech (A+)
Round 7 Pick 19: Jamaal Williams, RB, Brigham Young (A)

  166. Chyno Says:

Don’t think we’ll be going after Campbell after we just resigned Gholston. I don’t see the point in signing Campbell when essentially he’s the same player Gholston is. Granted he’s been more productive sack wise than Gholston but a big bodied DE that stuffs the run is what Gholston is. Campbell isn’t a sack monster so idk. Yea we can kick him inside to play next to GMC but we got our pass rusher in GMC why invest so much money into the DT position. I rather have a run stuffing space eater next to GMC. We could get that in the draft rather than pay a 30+ year old. We need more edge rushers if anything. I rather save the money on Campbell n spend it elsewhere.
