Recruiter Jameis?

February 7th, 2017

One can dream.

Saturday night there was no football game yet Bucs fans’ hearts skipped a beat.

In recent weeks, it has been rumored that the Steelers might be open-minded to trading All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown for as little as a first-round pick. Given the fact the Bucs need another wide receiver in the worst way, it is understandable how Bucs fans began connecting dots.

Steelers bigshot Art Rooney II sort of poured cold water on that rumor recently, making it sort of fade away.

Then, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, went and done it. He hung out with Brown at the NFL Honors ceremony Saturday in Houston and threw out the above photo on Instagram.

One can only dream.

Perhaps Jameis was recruiting? Perhaps Jameis was telling Brown how, paired with Mike Evans, the Bucs would have an almost unstoppable passing attack?

Perhaps Jameis was telling Brown about the wonderful Florida winter as opposed to gloomy Pittsburgh’s? Perhaps Jameis was telling Brown about no Florida state income tax?

One can only guess what Jameis and Brown talked about, but it is sure fun to fantasize.

He was telling Bryant… Come on Down We need more players like you… Once we get rid of soft serv we will do great things. Losing Culture is changing but the Leader of Losing Culture still must go in order to taste success.

  2. Eric Says:

No need to tell him about Florida weather he is from Miami

  3. Joeypoppems Says:

If I had to guess, Winston was getting fashion advice.

  4. bucsfaninchina Says:

Joe, you getting saucer-sized eyes for Dez Bryant or Antonio Brown? You have “Bryant”s all over the article.

  5. Waterboy Says:

Pittsburgh might be more than willing to get rid of him for the right price.

  6. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Antonio Bryant? I think he retired.😁

  7. Jason Says:

WTF is Bryant? Antonio BROWN, my man lol. If we want to woo him, getting his name right would be a good first step.

  8. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Pipe dream. Teams do not let players like him and Eric Berry go.

  9. StPeteBucsfan Says:

My only question is why would Pitt let him go? I get the upset at the violation of locker room privacy and the FB video…that’s easily remedied…simply use the Army method of correction…anybody pulls out a cell phone to record in the locker room and the rest of the guys give him a “swirlie”!!!

Besides didn’t Brown already apologize for that breach of etiquette? Is that all there is? I can handle “divaness” until it reaches ODB levels…he’s not worth the distraction for the giant money he’s going to command.

Did anybody see the interview with Julio…this dude is the MAN…although ME13 will give him a run next year. Julio is modest and when asked why he…clearly the best receiver (ODB is not a pimple on JJ’s butt) in all of football had no diva qualities…he just smiled and softly said because he always wants to be a team player.

Our chemistry is great right now. ME13 was the anti-diva this season just like the guy he’s chasing JJ. If #3 thinks he can handle Brown…then OK…but I want some due diligence and assurances. Nobody questions his talent.

    Joe’s version of Fantasy Football.

  11. ndog Says:

I love Evans BUT don’t get it twisted he will never reach Julio Jones status. Jones has one thing no one else has. SIZE AND CRAZY SPEED for that explosion after the catch. We have zero of that here so that must be priority #1.

There was a story told on sports radio here in NY that Antonio Brown was free lancing a few times this season, including in the playoffs. He was upset at not getting targeting enough, and rather than run his routes he was going to try and get open on his own, do his own thing. Word was that coaches and QB were non too happy with this and that he had to follow the gameplan.
I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but it was discussed on WFAN last month. For Pitt to part ways with maybe the best WR in the league would raise a red flag for me. We have a 23 year old leader of this team. He doesn’t need drama, just good football players who put team first.

Antonio Brown was a 6th round draft pick. We should be focusing on doing a better job of finding value on Day 3 of the Draft.

I wish I could debate you but I do not disagree. Like you I love ME13…he’s all pro…but JJ is a generational player and he doesn’t need many more seasons to lock up first ballot pick for HOF.

I agree with you that he has the crazy speed to go with that much size and he’s also the consummate team player who can even block. Did you see the ISO in the SB where his block helped spring Devonta on one of those runs?

Right now there is JJ and everybody else…but ME13 is the next best thing…he lacks the speed but as his route running continues to improve he brings thes ame intangibles as JJ…great teammate..and willing to block.

Thanks for bringing some added insight into Antonio’s problems with the Steelers or as Paul Harvey used to say…now you have “the rest of the story”.

  17. RustyRhinos Says:

tmaxcon, I do not always agree with you, but you are very consistent.

  20. 813bucboi Says:

@jerseybuc….damn that’s crazy!!!….his talent would be great but im not sure if the locker room can handle a diva yet….GO BUCS!!!!

    Nino Brown and ME13 woah..

  22. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Gmc has been on 2 Bucs teams with a winning record, more than any other current player. He’s also widely regarded as one of the best 3 techs in football. So just give it a rest tmax.

There was a thing on NFL network where Ike Taylor said he thought it was very possible that the steelers get rid of A.B. Just sayin

  24. Couch Fan Says:

If a 1st is all they are looking for. I’d send it to them with a quickness. Seriously doubt that though.

  25. DB55 Says:

Guess who’s back? Back again, shady’s back, tell a friend.

  26. Joeypoppems Says:

Idk about giving up a 1st for AB. Honestly would rather see them use it on Corey Davis, and im not even that high on that idea lol.

  27. DB55 Says:

F** Brown! Can we trade GMC for the supermodel Jameis presented the award with? Goot god holy mother of jeezus. Bet chu she plays just as strong😂😂😂😂

  28. webster Says:

I cant believe you guys. Teams do not pay two #1 receivers. Both brown and evans will be in line for possibly signing the most money for a wr in history. I cant believe the joes and some of you believe this is even a possibility.

  29. captjimbo Says:

If it were a possibility I don’t know how you could not pursue it. What a tandem that would make.

  30. Broy34 Says:

Just ignore the McCoy bashing. Anyone that doubts his effectiveness and wants more sacks is delusional. His explosiveness is so good that he’s out of position on runs away from him because he’s always in the backfield. Just ignore it the dude is an absolute stud. Yes is prone to injury and would like to seem him fight through calf strains but unreal d tackle. With ZERO EDGE RUSH HIS WHOKE CAREER. Donald has Quinn

  31. DB55 Says:

he’s out of position on runs away from him because he’s always in the backfield
    —————
He’s out of position on runs to his gap too. If not getting run over or flung from his spot. I scream, you scream, we all scream for gap integrity and 4th qrt plays.

  32. 813bucboi Says:

@db55^^^^^^^^…I agree…he needs to work on his run defense and gap control….GO BUCS!!!!

  33. Kevin Says:

I would literally crap myself. Then it would all just be a blur
