“It’s Going To Be Hard To Watch”

January 7th, 2017
Pain will be a theme today, a Buccaneer explains.

Pain will be a theme today, a Buccaneer explains.

Keep loose hand-held objects away from many Buccaneers today.

The ones who care deeply are going to be in agony, which could turn into temporary fits of rage.

Playoff football will kick off and the Bucs would be there if they they didn’t gag away great opportunities against the Rams or Raiders at home, or if they simply beat the Saints two weeks ago.

Adam Humphries talked about the pain on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday.

“I will be thinking [we should be in the playoffs,] seeing teams we played before, teams we had success against.” Humphries said. “It’s going to be hard to watch. But at the same time, it’s a learning experience for me and for our team. You know, we really want to be out there. And it’ll make us hungrier next year.”

Humphries added that taking better care of the football and learning how to win close games will be the keys to reaching the playoffs next season.

Joe will add another key: striking fear into opponents with a true No. 2 receiver threat.

I thought we covered this months ago??????

    “The Buc Realist Says:

NFL Draft 2017 WR, TE, DT, Safety!!!!!!”

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!

Joe will add another key: striking fear into opponents with a true No. 2 receiver threat.

We will certainly add WR’s and in fact have already started stockpiling. We’ll pick up a group of wanna bes like yesterday and sometimes you find gold…most times not. We’ll certainly draft a WR in the first 3 rounds.

We already have receiver threats in Brate and Hump who both have sure hands and the brains to compensate for their lack of speed and the ability to get open.
They both also seem to be in #3’s comfort zone.

I love Brate and Hump and so I don’t think we simply need another receiver.

We NEED team speed and generally you find that at WR but a running back like Dalvin Cook brings that as well…and when they can catch out of the backfield….whew.

Walter Football has us taking Jabril Peppers Michigan’s outstanding safety. Their logic is sound…we’ve been weak at safety for awhile now and Peppers is the real deal and if he’s the next Woodson then he’s generational.

I trust the football minds ultimately to make that decision at One Buc Place.

But what say ye group…would you revolt if the Bucs took Peppers?

I believe I’m OK with that pick if he really is the next Charles Woodson…and if Davin Cook is not on the board at 19.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Joe…..why the pic of GMC when the article is about a Humphries quote?

Just curious……..seems to me like it’s waving a red flag in front of a bunch of bulls….

  4. DayOnePaul Says:

Peppers will be long gone by #19

  5. 941BUC Says:

Hey Joe!can you explain how the Detroit Kittens got the #6 seed over Tampa and we had a better Division record and SOS?!wouldn’t of you left Detroit out for not having a better record with a weaker SOS and Division record?NONSENSE!!!TAMPA BEAT 3(THREE)TRES! PLAYOFF BOUND TEAMS AND DETROIT HOW MANY?!But I’ll tell you what.if our D continues to improve and we pick up a real #2 WR in the draft of FA and a true #3 WE WILL WREAK HAVOC!

  6. Ray Rice Says:

    @JOE

Striking fear with another WR?…YES… Because they definitely aren’t striking fear with their DT. The MF is just too happy and content with ALMOST being successful as a team. You would never hear him declare he wasn’t a dam loser like Jameis did. That’s because he looks in the mirror every day and accepts it. Snatch that dam C off of Aunt Geraldine’s chest and give it to Killa Kwon.

  7. Fred E. Buc Says:

This is good therapy for Bucs players, the Packers-Giants and Lions-Seahawks game. Personally, I paid $10K in Bucs season tickets to get to this today. So I have the world’s smallest violin playing for guys like Humphriies. That said…

Let it burn in real good Bucs players! Make just ONE play with the game on the line back in September like you did in many November/December games and you’d be on TV today. True, probably playing in Green Bay or Seattle, neither of which could bode well for our Bucs. BUT…use this to ignite the fire, to drive the hunger for next year. And this off season, every time you’re tempted to pick up that bong, toke that joint, pop that pill, take a snort, or drive drunk…all those things that have killed careers and contending teams’ hopes….think think think.

  8. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Hello St.Pete. everyday I read we need a WR with speed. Well like I stated on Rodgers article I hope people have someone other than John Ross or Corey Davis in mind if they talking first round. Ross look like a lil boy against the tide and I can’t recall the last dominant west WR. And people no-one from Western Michigan getting taken in the first round cut and paste that for future reference.

  9. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

You a MI fan day one? A lot of mocks have him falling into the 20s

  10. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Dude tells me lastnight I don’t know Koetters offense, I’m like he’s right I’ve never ran it. He went on about needing speedy WRs. He added like many here believe”we can just go get any ole RB in the later rounds”. I’m thinking in less Koetter is reinventing the old Oilers Run & Shoot this team is going to need more than just Rodgers for a 16 week season. Doesn’t have to be any good I guess seeing as many feel one can be had in the later rounds.

  11. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Joes, you must pull your hair out when Duemig keeps saying that the revivers are fine cause Winston threw for 4000 yards and someone had to catch them. Anyone can see that you don’t build a receiving corp with a first round pick and 4 undrafted free agents. Kurt Warner knows about how having big time receivers will help a QB.

  12. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

And for all the you don’t draft RBs in the first explain to me the decision of the Chargers to take LT 5th overall..

  13. Birdman Says:

If ya boy Hey Jude doesnt hold a WR on the opposite side of the field of the play on 4th down against the Raiders we’re in the playoffs.
We saw a whole lot of Javien Elliot the second half of the year. Coincidence? I think not.

  14. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Hey Nole…Yeah I think everybody want’s a WR with speed but I agree with you about the names you mentioned.

Our last great speed WR Joey Galloway was taken 8th overall. So it would seem we need to spend a high pick but it’s time to BPA the WR’s and see if any are really worth a first round pick.

There are some electric players…but I haven’t watched enough college ball to know who is good at WR and most the players who have blown me away are RB’s.

  15. Mojiska Says:

@stpete- the ones that have been impressive to me have been dede Westbrook, Ross, Mike williams (although name scares me) and juju smith-Schuster. Ross and Mike williams are round 1, juju may he round 2 and dede may be round 3. Haven’t watched. Ton of Corey davis, but small school guy in round 1 scares me. Ross isn’t worth a round 1 pick imo, he isn’t a #1 potential guy and you don’t take a slot in the 1st.

  16. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

St.Pete they come here and throw out little John Ross and Corey Davis from Western.Michigan. they act like they are aware of 6’2 225 4.4 @$$ Mike Williams of Clemson. Put Mike Williams at Western.Michigan and look at the stat sheet when he was done.

  17. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Thank you Moj emphasis on you don’t take a slot in round 1. Y’all better go check an see where Antonio Brown was taken. WRs are a dime a dozen. Special RBs,well I’ll leave it alone.

  18. Gilhealy Says:

Nole, Davis will go ahead of Williams. Why the doubt?

  19. MadMax Says:

If they want to be sure they’re not in this position again this time next year, they’ll target Derek Barnett in the draft to finish our DE search…. especially if he drops past the 7th. He’s worth trading up for.

Now im good with a WR too, but my gut is telling me Barnett will be A BEAST for somebody! I hope its us. DE project OVER! Then hit the WR and everything else.

  20. martinii Says:

Read where Peppers is dropping a little and Teams aren’t sure what to do with him. Many sites have him listed as an OLB, some as a FS. Personally I would rather have a complimentary WR to Evans or a RB because the 2017 draft class seems to have an abundance of good ones. My old school instincts tell me the only sure bet 1st RD pick is an OL 10 yr starter but now days thats not hip enough for most. Just saying

  21. Gilhealy Says:

I actually think Tennessee takes Corey Davis before we get a crack at him. With those RB’s and Delanie, these guys will be something to keep an eye on. Good draft coming up. Lot’s of ballers in all positions.

  22. LakeLandBuc Says:

There’s no need to cry over spill milk. Beat the Saints and all the pieces fall into place.

  23. Gilhealy Says:

Oh, and I think Pryor playing with Jameis would be special. Two alpha’s wanting to win more than anyone else out there. Pryor will be more than willing to fall in line with this group. Koetter wouldn’t have any other way. That kid carried Ohio State for years. Pure stud athlete. And he knows it. Get him the ball. He knows what to do with it. I can live with attitude that comes with hunger.

  24. cmurda Says:

Hump may not be a true #2 but I do want to toot my horn about liking this kid from day 1. Before he was even a thought of being kept on the 53 man roster, I was singing his praises. He has produced and proven himself as a viable contributor on this team. Now, I can admit and it is clear that he is not a true #2 as Joe pointed out but he is a solid #3 WR. Now, we need that WR that can take the top off the defense and settle in opposite M.E. The important thing is whoever this receiver turns out to be (personally hoping it is Desean Jackson) needs to be able to catch the ball. I have had enough of the D. Dye experiments.

  25. Shiftlessjunglebum Says:

Lol the pic of GMC. He’s not in pain. Remember 9-7 is and missing the playoffs is a “special year”

  26. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    @Gilhealy

I find your post interesting especially when you think of NE. How does BB get the Legarratte Blounts and Aquibs to toe the line? And given how well Aguib played for NE why did he cut him?

I normally totally dislike head cases but I agree with you sometimes it depends on what is upsetting them. Some guys just can’t handle losing.

Pryor certainly has an excuse to be upset. Cleveland isn’t just bad on the stat sheet they have made some of the worst decisions of this decade.

I trust Licht and Koetter on this one. If they feel they can get Pryor for the right price/player/draft pick we’d have a huge head start.

I just looked up Pryor’s stats. Wowie!!!! 4.39 speed in a freaking 6-4 225lb body. He’s ME with speed and he’s a former QB. I LOVE former QB’s who can accept they are not NFL QB’s but have NFL talent…for the others..Timmy waste your life pursuing baseball…you should have played TE and been the next Gronk.

I gotta say…just imagine…Pryor and Evans…two huge receivers…one with game breaking speed…toss in two very competent possession receivers in Brate and Hump then mix in Sims. Now if you also have 4.3 speed coming out of the backfield in Dalvin Cook who can catch as well as run and all we’re missing is the ST return guys.

Talk about freaking weapons for #3!!! We’re getting sooooo close you can taste it.

  27. ndog Says:

The few folks saying we don’t need another receiver either have never watched the Bucs play this year or never even tried playing qb cause when no one is open it is a horrible feeling cause you are tasked to do something positive with the ball but there is no where to throw it. That was Jameis quite often this year and it cannot continue. We must get at least two wide outs, improve the center position and dline and we will greatly improve.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

941BUC…don’t know much about how to figure out all the BS tie-breakers and such, but the Times up a little snippet the other day.

It said if the Bucs would have beaten N.O. and lost to the Panthers then they would have been in.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but we’re not ready yet. If we were we would have beaten the Rams and the Raiders.

Our run comes next season. I think we go REALLY deep into the playoffs next year barring key injuries, and Mike Smith stays or the new DC is competent. Next season man. Next season is party time.

  29. Buc1987 Says:

    ndog….correct…WE HAVE OUR BABY NOW..and he’s beautiful.

Now go get the baby new toys. I’m quite certain he’ll know how to play with them, and take good care of them.

    Get the baby toys!

  30. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Poor poor bucs…….

The Bucs deserve a better DT than Mr Softie GMC…..

  31. orlbucfan Says:

I enjoy reading these comments cos I know so little about college ball/players. They are reporting that the Draft will be full of potential WRs. Bucs need another receiver, a punt returner (get Hump off that duty), D and OL depth, RB?. With Glennon moving on, how are Bucs looking in terms of backup QB?

  32. Gilhealy Says:

Exactly, StPete. He’s an Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith, Jameis Winston kind of guy. Can’t stand losing, or being outplayed.

  33. TheBucsAnthem Says:

…….it’s gonna another long off season of BULLSh!T

  34. Gilhealy Says:

Ryan Griffin actually looked pretty good in preseason. Knows the offense as well as Glennon. Quick release.

  35. Buc1987 Says:

    St Pete….just wondering.

How do you know Tebow could catch a football well enough to be a TE?

  36. Buc1987 Says:

Yes Anthem thank the football gods you’re not a Browns fan.

  37. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Gil lets bet a jersey on who gose first. And I’ve never said we don’t another WR,I feel that number 2 will be addresses in free agency. How anyone can say they watched the Bucs this year and not see a need for a Big time RB id beyond me. See we do have this WR that is going to his first pro bowl and was named an All Pro. We ain’t in need of another #1 we need a quality #2 people.

  38. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

So let me me ask this question for all the all the WR in the first round people. Are drafting that to be our new number 1 WR??? If not how do you explain drafting a number 2 wideout with your first pick??? Who dose that???

  39. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Again DM and Sims average yard per carry this season 2.9.

  40. ManzielMadness Says:

    @Nole

I agree about wanting Dalvin, just dont think he’ll be there at 19. Also, you gotta see Corey Davis’ tape, kid shows up when he plays against big schools. Other great recievers have come out of small schools btw, Jerry Rice, Miss Valley State. Terrell Owens, Tennessee Chattanooga. Randy Moss, Marshall. Isaac Bruce Memphis. Greg Jennings went to Western Michigan etc. Would be very happy if he was our pick

  41. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Madness I’ve watched his highlights but drafting another WR in the first to be our number 2 doesn’t make since to me considering our RB situation. If DM didn’t fall off the cliff I would not be on here shouting from the mountain top well I can’t say his name but you get where going.

  42. Gilhealy Says:

I don’t remember saying we didn’t need a RB. I don’t know if you’re referring to me as one of “those guys”. If Cook isn’t there, Davis would be awesome. And two number one’s ain’t a bad thing. Line ’em up wherever you want.

  43. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay I can also respect that Gil.

  44. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I’m just puzzeled with the sentient going on round here. We need a another WR yes. But we are nonchalant when it comes to RB. We’ll just find one in the later rounds. That’s malarky. Theirs a long list of WRs that have been found in later rounds. AB was selected in the 6th.

  45. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I hope Rodgers stays but 16 games as muy number 1 RB??? Nawh man. I like what Atlanta doing with Freeman and Coleman. What the Saints are doing with Ingram and Hightower. You need two quality backs just like you need two quality WRs.

  46. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Gil the only reasoning for the nonchalant attitude is I’m a Nole and the guy I’m reppin is from FSU. If he were from The U these people would high on well again I’m not permitted to say his name.

  47. 808BUCS Says:

Dalvin Cook won’t be there when we pick. DM and Sims avg 2.9 yrds because there were no running lanes what so ever. DMX was getting hit as soon as handed the ball most of the time. Fixing our OL should be priority as well. Cook or any RB would look ordinary behind this line if we don’t fix it.

  48. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Stpetebucsfan

Would be freaking stoked with a Jabrill Peppers pick, not only does he look to be a premiere Free safety that can do it all, stuff runs in the box, Break up passes, and he is an electric return man.

Plus all of his former teammates and coaches speak of him as having an infectious energy and charisma. And that the kid is always positive, even in the face of a life of trials and tragedy. And that he puts all out on the line play after play. So I think he would fit in so well among Jameis and Kwon. The more passionate player with heart we get, the better. Especially when those players are also supremely gifted athletes.

  49. 808BUCS Says:

Dalvin Cook won’t be there when we pick. DM and Sims avg 2.9 yrds because there were no running lanes what so ever. DM was getting hit as soon as handed the ball most of the time. Fixing our OL should be priority as well. Cook or any RB would look ordinary behind this line if we don’t fix it.

  50. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@NosBos By and large, it’s far more common to find extremely high value at running back outside of the first bro.

  51. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

So what happen in one year 808??? How exactly did they combine for the most rush yards in 2015 and fall off so suddenly behind the same group of individuals. Can’t be just one explanation bro.

  52. Buc1987 Says:

    Corey, Corey, Corey!

  53. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

You absolutely sure about that Blake???

  54. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I got a question Blake. This is not a trick,I want your honest opinion. Do you see Mike Williams as being on the same level as Julio Jones was while at bama. No pro talk college.

  55. Gilhealy Says:

Yea, I know ‘Nole. I’m Seminole’s all the way also, but when I see talent, it doesn’t matter where they’re from. Those that preface statements about players with hate towards a college kill me. These kids took their best option towards getting to the show.

  56. Gilhealy Says:

Williams and Davis will be the first WR’s off the board. Depending on what flavor the GM likes, it could be either one. Davis has a little more speed, but didn’t face a lot of aggressive press coverage. Williams faced tougher competition. I just like the cut of Davis’ jib.

  57. 808BUCS Says:

So Nole you mean to tell me that you are trusting that we go into the 2017 with this OL you got to be kidding me. Grant it yes they had a good season in 2015, but 2016 look like crap and it definitely needs to be fixed. Not saying to go get a line in the first but it needs to be address and no FA ain’t the answer

  58. Buc1987 Says:

    Nole…I can answer that.

No. Corey Davis is faster than Mike Williams though.

    Corey, Corey, Corey.

Corey might actually fall to 19 too. Whereas our boy Dalvin might not be there. Trade up to the lower teens? Maybe. Trade the farm? No.

Safety in the first? No. Rather go O-line.

    It’s only January.

  59. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Cant really speak on Julio Jones in College, because I never really bothered to watch his college stuff, But i’ll say that Julio is probably a tad bit faster than Williams. But Mike Williams definitely looks like a stud receiver with all the tools to be a number 1. He does have pretty good speed, and I Love the way he boxes out defenders in the redzone and in jumpball situations, plus his hands are money.

And I wasn’t making a statement on where I think he will go, just noting that I’ve seen him go as low as 15 or 16 in some mock drafts, I personally see him as a top 10 draft pick, but the draft is a crapshoot so you never know where someone will get pick, you can only speculate.

  60. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Look at 87. Corey!Corey!Corey! Hmmh, think I could respect that little better had at any point during the season you stated”hey people we need look out for this kid” but that’s just me I suppose.

  61. Gilhealy Says:

808, could be they’ll have a better idea what’s what with Sweezy by April. O-line needs help, but we lost Gottshalk late, and Benenoch never really caught up. I’ll trust Koetter on that call.

  62. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Honestly Blake you see Davis coming off the board before Williams???

  63. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay again Gil I feel what you saying.

  64. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

808 I respect you feel it needs addressing I to feel that way. But I couldn’t have stated a response any better than what Gil stated.

  65. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Probably not, but I do See Davis as a player who could be another number 1 receiver for our offense If he’s available at 19. The kid has Juice, and appears to be a special talent. Having already expressing how impressed I am with Mike Williams as a prospect, depending on the receiving corps that a team already had, I could see them valuing Davis more. Just Because of his incredible speed, his sharp route running, his open field play-making ability, and his scrappy demeanor.

I think they both have the potential to be fantastic players, I just think its more likely that Davis is there at 19. I also feel that we need players with speed to stretch the field for Mike and Jaboo.

  66. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

If he all what people are saying about him he would be welcomed addition. Wouldn’t be No hate on my side. Whatever who ever all I know is this time next season I better preparing to see Red Flag on the T.V. the screen.

  67. Guzzie Says:

I’ve seen reports RB Joe Mixon could got as high as 1st round or undrafted based on his character issues, with Licht showing a propensity for taking chances on guys with issues, Winston, Noah, Huff, ASJ, they don’t all work out, but taking this guy in the 3-4 round could payoff big time, 6’1 227 with sprinter speed and receiver hands, other than Fournette and Cook, this guy could be special, we’ve all seen the tape, it’s despicable, but someone is going to take a chance and his talent is undeniable

  68. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knpvPKUhUz4

Check out your boy Corey Davis vs Wisconsin, Dude is a BEAST! Doesn’t do everything perfect but he has so many phenomenal traits that see translating directly into the pro game.

Can’t wait to scope out Mike Williams and O.J. Howard in the National Championship game. Man i cannot wait for the combine, and Free Agency, and The Draft.

Next year is the year. I have ever so much faith in Jason Licht and Dirk Koetter. Go Bucs.

  69. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Guzzie I’ve watched a lil bit on Mixon and he looks pretty legit. If he falls to say the 4th or 5th round, maybe even the 3rd depending on how successful free agency goes (and whether or not we have a shot at Foreman in the second), I’d take Mixon in a heart beat.

  70. Buc believer Says:

Joe why do you put the player that cares the LEAST about making the playoffs on the cover of this story?

  71. NFLNut Says:

    **********

I think it’s increasingly possible that by the time the Bucs draft at #19 that ALL FIVE of the big-time offensive WR/RB prospects (Fournette, Cook, Mike Williams, Corey Davis and John Ross) may be gone as the Titans, Panthers, Colts, Ravens, Eagles and Browns all have a serious need for either a RB or WR or both!

That said …. I could imagine the Bucs still drafting all-offense as follows:

#1 OJ Howard … if you like Brate you might love OJ
#2 Evan Pocsic … with this mauler a C Tampa’s line will be set … and deep
#3 & #4 Dede Westbrook & Malachi Dupree … more speed & depth at WR
    #5 Joe Mixon … a poor-man’s jack-a$$ version of Marshall Faulk … depth

    **********

  72. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Agree with O.J Howard 100 percent. And I like Dede Westbrook as a good Late 1st/ early 2nd rounder if we trade down.

But I see *Ethan Pocic as a late second early 3rd round Guy. Looks Solid in Pass Protection for the most part, but he will have plays where he misses blocks that he could make. And he doesn’t ever really show any Pop or raw power in the Run game. He doesn’t get pushed around, but mauler is not a word I would use to describe him.

  73. Cobraboy Says:

Why not look toward Terrelle Pryor in FA? 6’2″, 235, 4.38 speed and a will to win sounds like a solid move. And he’s just now coming into his own.

Surely he’d like to escape Cleveland…and at a reasonable price.

  74. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Dede Westbrook has a good pair of hands, and is a burner if I’ve ever seen one. He might Run a 4.3 flat.

  75. Blake_bucsfan Says:

He will not be there in the 3rd though dude.

  76. Gilhealy Says:

    Cobra, he’s 6’4. Even scarier.

  77. Trubucfan22 Says:

As others have said, why is GMC the pic on this article? Is joe taking a dig at GMC here? Or is joe hoping to bait and switch the GMC haters? You know they are clicking this article armed and ready to bash GMC if it were truly a GMC article. Eitherway a curious decision. I see joe pushing hard for those 7 million clicks. Haha

  78. 808BUCS Says:

    Gil, Nole I respect that!

  79. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    Beasting.

So many options in this offseason. Holey moley I’m pumped for next season.

  80. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    87

Of course I don’t KNOW for sure that Tebow can catch the ball. But QB’s are always the best overall athletes on the team. They catch thousands of balls in the spread…especially Tebow.

He’s playing baseball at a decent level…won’t make the MLB but again he’s a talent. Catching a football is not a great achievement for true athletes.

I think his bigger liability would be lack of speed with the new generation of TE’s coming into the league.

  81. Stpetebucsfan Says:

A little perspective for our draft debates…rate of success at any position depends greatly on how high the player is drafted DUH.

But I found a site with statistics that show just how dramatically the odds of success change not just by round but by actual position.

EG Picking at the end of the 2nd Round gives you only a 50% chance of success historically…by the end of the 3rd round it’s down to 30%…so where in the round you select is very important. Not good for us but it could be worse.

And so all this certainty in draft debates amuses me. There are very few certain things out of the top ten….even in the first round bust rate rises from roughly 10-15% bust or 85-90 success rate to a 35% bust rate or 65% chance of success.

It’s what makes it exciting I guess. Nobody really knows for sure.

  82. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I’m talking bout the whole feel is different come playoff time. This gotta be us next season man. Gotta be us.

Great insight St.Pete. Thanks good sir.

  84. salish_seamonster Says:

Losing to New Orleans with playoffs on the line showed they weren’t really ready yet. There’s still a few glaring holes on this team, plus Jameis is still far too inconsistent. A few more weapons, plus more consistency from Jameis, and continued improvement on defense, and we’re a playoff threat next year.

  85. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

St.Pete.. Trust me when I tell you,I HEAR WHAT YOU SAYING SIR.

  86. Chris Says:

Blake I like those highlights of Westbrook. That’s a guy Jameis would have a tough time overthrowing, and he lays out for the ball

  87. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Salish you right Fameis does need to work on that in off season.

  88. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I wanna piggyback so badly St.Pete but I’ll refrain, don’t wanna pist my bros today.

  89. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I will be Baging the table all offseason for TERRELL PRYOR. This is the guy we need as our #2. Every1 wants John ross cuz he’s fast. Every1 wants Mike Williams cuz he’s big, every1 wants Davis cuz he’s a little of both. Well Terrell Pryor is 6’4 with 4.3 speed and still has ALOT of room to grow as a WR. And he has some nasty in him. GO GET THAT MAN.

  90. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Clowney is a BEAST

  91. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Chris I had the same thought my dude xD lol

and @Mike the GOAT I would love to get Pyror, and Patterson in FA, and still draft a young top Flight Receiver in either round 1 2 or 3.

Completely Flip the Group on it’s Ear. Turn the Unit from just Mike and Hump into a True 4 verticals attack. With Redzone threats and Burners to spare. And Just Have Cordaralle be our Return specialist, and Continue to groom Hump into the great Slot guy he’s on track to becoming. Then Getting either Davis or Westbrook in round number 1, and D’onta Foreman in Round 2, We would be freaking LOADED with talent on Offense.

Dirk is always talking about Explosive plays, and with a group like that we could have scoring potential on every single play.

  92. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I’m not sold on Westbrook or John ross. Kids among men. Those guys are just to small. And IF they put on weight they will lose some speed. I WANT Cook in the 1st, but he might not be there. If no Cook, then just draft BPA offence or defence. Maybe trade back in to the late first and take D Onta Forman.

  93. Trubucfan22 Says:

You can point to the lack of weapons for jameis’ inconsistencies. Trying to do too much. Perhaps pressing too hard and not staying fundamentally sound. I expect winsron to continue to improve. That isnt a worry at all for me. Getting weapons for jameis so he doesnt feel like he has to do too much is a goal that is reachable. He’s young and immautre still. But eventually he will pit it all together. No one should be worried about Jameis. Bit we should be worried about Licht and what he is going to do to protect Jameis and how he plans on getting Jameis the weapons he needs.

  94. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I’m not sold on Ross because he weighs 180 and is 5’11.
But Dede is like 6’2 6’3 and has a frame that could take another 10 pounds and he would still have sub 4.4 speed. Plus as Chris mention, he will lay out for a pass, or just plain out run it down. He shows great Yac potential as well. I like what I see from him, but would only take him late first or second if we traded down for addition picks.

  95. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Yea if he’s not there BPA O or D.

  96. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

We all know Licht will wheel and deal if he feels like it’s the right player. So if we trade back we can get some extra ammo to move around in the 2nd or 3rd. We really don’t have a clue until after Free Agency. 3 months till that dinner bell rings. It’s gonna be a long 3 months.

  97. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

24/7 sports has dede westbrook @ 5’11 175 lbs. NO THANKS

  98. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Ok i take it back I was wrong. Dede is 6’0 175. Hmm that puts somewhat of a damper on him, But hey Djax, AB, Jeremy Maclin are on the smaller side. And still ball out when healthy.

  99. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

U want some speed? K.D Cannon in the 3rd

  100. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I’ll check him out. Still would love to add Pryor+Patterson and Draft either Davis or O.J. Howard in the first.

  101. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    @MikeEvansGOAT

So I actually went back to stats to find out about Pryor. Holy cow..6-4 225 with a 4.38 40 under his belt. He could be Mike Evans with speed or Heinz Ward with size and speed. A former QB with a DL attitude who rips it up as WR.

So I called my son who lives in Columbus and knows all things OSU and is a faithful Browns fan.

Asked him about it…he thinks Pryor is very talented, probably a teams 3rd WR because he’s still mastering his route running. But my son conceded that it was his first year as WR and so there is a learning curve. Monken could fix that.

As for attitude…my son said tough to really tell because it’s CLEVELAND. On one side my son claims Pryor got 1,000 yards because the Brownies had no other targets…OTOH he did get those 1,000 with crap QB’s and horrid offense.

I’m with you if Licht and Koetter sign off on Pryor’s head. Will he be ok if ME and #3 are the straws that stir the drink and he is the second option? Will his ego be a problem. Or is he just peoed because he went from a National Champion to the worst franchise in the NFL….maybe he’s just one of those guys who HATES losing…can you say #3?

  102. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

So Al Davis said to John Gruden we taking a kicker in the first round. Makes me wonder what flavor on the the Glazers mind.

  103. Kevin Says:

Just realized rishard mathews is a fa. Man if the titans are dumb enough yo try and keep him for cheap get him Jason!!!

He would be a monster across from Evans!

  104. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay if Erik and St.Pete all inn on Pryor lets got get’em. Joe you willing to start a petition???

  105. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Stpete

For my money dude, I’d say that the reason Terrell Pyror rubs his Browns teammates the wrong way, Is because those fools are a bunch of Losers. And he wants so desperately to be a winner, and I think that he would settle in Nicely under Jameis’ wing. Plus As You stated, his measurables and potential are absolutely off the charts. And I think Monken+Koetter could coach ’em up real nice like.

  106. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ NOSBOS
I really think it make our draft truly BPA. We need a wr SOO bad that we might reach for one. With Pryor as a #2 it’s not as pressing of a need. AND he can run some wildcat. He got 1000 yards as an undeveloped Wr who was the ONLY option on a qb starved team. AND he was doubled every week. They cant Double ME13 AND Pryor. And he’s got 4.3 speed

  107. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I just fixed the Bucs. Lol

  108. MadMax Says:

Im alright going after Pryor. Def need another FA WR.

How about that Khalil Mack? I remember wanting him real bad but knew it wasnt possible….wanted Aaron Donald real bad too and couldve had him.

That same feeling and what I see in Barnett out of Tennessee has me going like NOSBOS is about Cook lol.

  109. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Plus get rid of these HIDEOUS Uniforms

  110. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ madmax
Look up Solomon Thomas from Stanford. May be there in the late 1st early 2nd

  111. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Man Pryor and a certain RB I won’t name would be sick. But that Solo Thomas kid😮maaaynne. Dude look that grown man.

  112. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay okay by a show of hands who would JBF rather have Terrelle Pryor or Corey Davis???

  113. Gilhealy Says:

If I had to choose lickity split, I’d take Pryor. Known NFL talent. And a lot of it.

  114. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Pryor is a locker room cancer………so hell no

  115. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I want to a few more opinions before I give mines Gil.

  116. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Davis long term. Pryor for win NOW capabilities

  117. ndog Says:

Straight up i would go with Corey Davis as he again reminds me of TO and that with Evans would be sick. I have heard from many that Pryor is a jack*ss. BUT man tell me we could get Cook and Dede in the draft and then Pryor in fa that would just be a dream come true cause that would take care of all of our weapon issues.

  118. 911bucs Says:

Pryor, he’s somewhat proven and has better speed.

  119. JameisDungy Says:

    Why not both?

  120. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    ^^^^^
    What he said

  121. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay thank you bros. Me. If his head is right Pryor and ME with my dream RB(whom I won’t mention) would be unstoppable. If his head is right give me Pryor.

  122. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @ NosBos I want both.

  123. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Mike, I think Solomon Thomas will go top 15, maybe top 10.

  124. 911bucs Says:

Off topic why didn’t the Raiders sign a qb when Carr went down. This Cook guy just doesn’t have it at all.

  125. JameisDungy Says:

The Bucs would solidify an elite wr core for the next 4 to 5 years. Why not go all in?

You take Davis because his potential too much to pass up.
You take him as well in case Pryor is a one year wonder.

Evans/Pryor/Davis/Humphries/Brate is about as good as you can get.

Nice mix of speed and route running.

Davis/Humphries are the YAC wrs. Pryor/Evans the big play wrs.

Fix the oline as much as you can in free agency as well.

If you believe Jameis is a franchise QB then load up NOW. A franchise QB with great weapons can cover up flaws on your team.

  126. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Ronald Leary fixes alot of problems for this OLINE.
Dan Williams Dt Baltimore helps GMC alot too.
AJ Bouye cb Texans is a FA and he seems to have shut down Cooper
Latavious Murray us on his way out in OAK he’s a BIG rb

  127. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

And get rid of our nasty uniforms

  128. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

JD sound good to me. GOAT they look better when we winning. I got like five jerseys so I can’t complain.

  129. MadMax Says:

Yeah Soloman showed out in that bowl game. I would be fine with him too as a 2nd pick.

  130. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ NOSBOS
I don’t care if we win a super bowl in these Unis, they are still the worst uniforms in the NFL

  131. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

The logo is Awesome. We definitely have the coolest logo in the league, but the color scheme is rediculous. I will never buy one of these new uniforms. I’ll rock my Mike Williams 19 or my Ronde 20 or my Sapp 99

  132. Cobraboy Says:

Back to the original piece Joe wrote:

I hope the players on this team are hurting emotionally through the Super Bowl.

And I hope they play to never feel like they do right now ever again.

  133. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    The logo crucial.

  134. Guzzie Says:

Hey Mr Pryor, how would you feel about playing some ball with a 22 year old, 4000 yard QB, a 23 year old stud number 1 allpro receiver, we promise you’ll never get double teamed, and you get to use your 4.3 speed and 6’4 frame versus number 2 CBs, and we will pay you $9 million a year, don’t laugh, we paid a 33 year old receiver $12 million last year, oh Year and it’s 75 degrees in January, come to Tampa and be a Buc

  135. Guzzie Says:

Just stay away from the Molly Hamster

  136. USFBUC Says:

Okay so we are all on board with Pryor. That means we can look at WR in the second and third. Cook might be available at 12 and a future first and second round pick are enough to make that trade. We need to set up a another late first round pick ideally pick 20 so we can go Howard and Pocic. A third round guy to watch for is Zay Jones. One of his former teammates is saying the guy has all the traits of a successful WR in the NFL. I like when a guy who has already made it on a teams roster talks up another guy coming up.

  137. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Dude. I dont care what your opinion of cool is as a player. But theres no way a Rb is worth trading away multiple draft picks for. Statiscally they don’t last long enough to justify the asking price. Even if we sign 2 or 3 wideouts, i’d like us to sit tight pr trade back and just pick the BPA that fits a need. There will be more than just a few solid picks available at 19. Both on offense ans defense.

  138. TheBucsAnthem Says:

No way Pryor comes here next season ……..

    …….Infact I’m 100% positive he will not….

Don’t ask me how I know either

  139. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

It won’t take a future 1st to move up for cook. We only need to go up 5 spots to get in front of the colts. But I really like to trade back if cooks not there @ 19. I HATE all the prospects for us @ 19. Either not a position of need or they are a reach. Forman is a reach @ 19. Idk if Davis or Williams makes it that far. I’m a Big HE11 NO on John Ross. OJ Howard could be a good pick there.

  140. Viejo_Sombrero19 Says:

    Davis Corey

  141. NFLNut Says:

If the Bucs sign Pryor and draft OJ Howard, Dede Westbrook, KD Cannon and Joe Mixon in the first four rounds, they will be LOADED with weapons for Jameis.

RB: Mixon, Martin (on a cheap 1 year deal), Quizz & Simms
    WR1: Evans & Cannon
    WR2: Pryor & Shepherd
    Slot: Dede & Humphries
    TE: Howard & Brate

    WOW

  142. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

This off season unlike others is about to be fun.

  143. Cobraboy Says:

    TheBucsAnthem Says:

No way Pryor comes here next season ……..

    …….Infact I’m 100% positive he will not….

Don’t ask me how I know either

    Show us your cred.

    How do you know?

A WAG or distinct inside knowledge?

If the latter, what is it?

  144. MadMax Says:

Just looked at a draft mock from yahoo and thats about the closest to looking real out there for all teams. They have us taking OT Ryan Ramczyk at 19. A lot of the guys I have high grades on are already off the board.

Cant say I wouldnt be disappointed with the pick, but I’d still rather trade up and get a more impactful player….DE, WR, or Safety, then work on the O line later.

  145. MadMax Says:

And I hate yahoo, but that guy (cant recall) is spot on in his talent grading.

  146. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsimHbxxFd8

Think I just found the next Darren Sproles. Tarik Cohen out of N. Carolina A&T.
The Kids playing against nobodies but holy freaking cow dude this boy is the definition of Shifty. Moves on Moves on Moves. And I don’t see anyone talking about him. If we could get him in the 5th or later that would be awesome.

  147. Blake_bucsfan Says:

The most impressive play on that tape is a busted handoff that he proceeds to scoop up and run past the entire D for a TD. I stress again that he’s playing against nothing. But in the 5th or 6th round he would be the definition of a value pick.

  148. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Mad Max I would be beyond pissed if we took Ramzcyk over O.J. Howard or Jabrill Peppers at 19. Nearly all “top tier” O-line talent I’ve watched look beyond average to me. Where as Howard&Peppers looks to be tried and true Studs.

  149. JameisDungy Says:

    @NFLNut
Don’t see that happening, but yes the Bucs would be loaded!!
