Losers No More

Now this is culture change

Now this is culture change

The mere fact the Bucs can’t have a losing season this year is reason for its own post.

How bout those 8-5 Buccaneers!

It took Lovie Smith 28 games to win eight games as a Bucs head coach. Dirk Koetter has needed less than half the time.

Whatever happens down the stretch, nobody can call these Bucs losers. And that, frankly, is an accomplishment after five consecutive losing campaigns.

The Bucs have now won three in a row at the Den of Depression and today upped their home record to 3-4 this season. Joe might have to shelve the nickname if the Bucs can close the season with a win.

Now that’s culture change!

With one more win this year, the Bucs won’t finish last in the NFC South for the first time since the 2010 season.

Stand with extra pride tonight, Bucs fans. Joe is.

The offensive playcalling almost lost us the game

  2. D-Rome Says:

    Retire Den of Depression!

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I agree that the playcalling was not good….that 3rd & 7 to Evans was a very low percentage pass…….we have to throw it short….
We went to the run on 1st down too often.
Jameis didn’t get very good protection today.

But, our defense was too good for us to lose.

  4. DB55 Says:

    Rejoice

  5. Maxx Says:

    How happy are we
    QB Bucs Nation????

  6. rayjay1122 Says:

Den of destruction. That defense has been destroyers!

  7. Gencoimports Says:

The play calling was just horrible. Thank you defense and special teams for bailing us out.

  8. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Would you b!tches quit complaining. We f*$#ing won the game. If lovie was still here we would have been blown out. LET’S GO BUCS!!! BRING ON THE COWBOYS!

  9. Waterboy Says:

That defense was flying around all over the place today! Solid work!

  10. Not there yet Says:

Retire the name like D-Rome said…. It’s not about you and your nickname and it doesn’t reflect the team under a new head coach who in his first year has this team in playoff contention. The name has more to do with past head coaches so the name should be retired based on what Dirk has done since becoming head coach. To keep using the name kinda makes you look petty. Congratulations bucs fans this feels good can’t wait to play the cowboys

  11. tmaxcon Says:

Let’s not forget to congratulate first year head coach Dirk Koetter for tying the legendary dumbass Loive Smith on the bucs all time wins list.

  12. tmaxcon Says:

joe the name should stand until end of season just my 2 cents. winning consistency is the goal.

  13. MadMax Says:

After tonight, Im really thinking O line with the 2nd pick….still WR with the first. And the way our safeties are playing, maybe address that in the 5th. Still hope we go after Eric Berry though.

  14. BucfanBF Says:

Keep this in mind, even though the offense steuggled, they did just enough but it was our defense that won us this game!!
I say regardless off the offensive failures this was a good game. Shows that we have truly arrived.
    Go Bucs!!!

  15. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

The culture change is happening right before our eyes! Who here besides me is sure last year’s team put in the same situation as today would have gotten roasted for a long TD and lost? This year’s team is learning how to step up and make plays that put the game away, and I’m proud of the job these coaches and players are doing.

  16. Lue88 Says:

I would say no the best play calling but when you got nothing but injuries to key players you tend to hold back a bit. Great game any how. Go bucs!!!

  17. Lue88 Says:

    Not*

  18. Rrsrq Says:

Tandy got Brees a few years ago also to seal a win

  19. Tampa Tony Says:

Dirk coached very Lovie like today

  20. Gilhealy Says:

Fella’s, check the scores for the ’72 Dolphins and get back to me. It ain’t how, it’s how many.

  21. Gilhealy Says:

ok, never mind. They won handily. Either way, we’re good. When the O does click, wow.

  22. Bucs14 Says:

A winning team can find ways to win even when they play ugly. Go Bucs!

  23. fsuking Says:

    Whoooo! Go Bucs baby!!!!

  24. Warthog Says:

Koetter is the RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB. Our first real coach since Gruden (peace be upon him)

I wanna see a 10 year Winston / Koetter partnership!

  25. Bob in valrico Says:

I hated the running play when we gave up the safety.Other than that Jameis did not look comfortable after the first two drives.Once again Aguayo hits three FG’s to contribute to the win.

  26. BucsFanFromSaintsLand Says:

    I like that RayJay!

  27. Trubucfan22 Says:

That mike smith defense deserves a medal. And tandy deserves another game ball. The offense and defense are in sync with one another. When the offense steuggle the defense picks up the slack, when the defense struggles the offense bails them out. That is how you win games in the NFL. You can’t expect your offense to always score 30 and defense to pitch a shutout. They just have to do enough together to win the game. And that is exactly what is happening.

I hope the bucs can convince mike to stay for the long haul and build this team into a consistent winner. CoHC. Together dirk and mike can run this team and make us relevant for the next 20 years.

  28. OneBuc55 Says:

Not sure who got the game ball but Tandy deserved it Imho…The Defense as a whole is playing Lights out right now…The offense on the other hand, looked sloppy today; they never seemed to get into a rhythm…The Special Teams was solid once again…We got some things we need to clean up on the offensive side of the ball if we wanna kept this streak going…

  29. Blackmagic00 Says:

Anyone who wants to post anything negative? Just don’t!!!!!! We’re on the exact path!

  30. m&m Says:

A win is a win no matter how you slice it. Yes, we have to get and do better offensively the next three games. Let’s enjoy this win, focus on the next. Go Bucs.

  31. Blackmagic00 Says:

I want to say, I’m happy. The offense is doing well considering the injuries. Our offense is down some 5 or more since the season started. Humphries was a huge loss as was vj. Yet ………….We’re still winning!!!! Come on people, it doesn’t have to be pretty when the “W” comes, we have a young and very talented team coming in for the next 15 plus years!!!!!#

  32. OneBuc55 Says:

No such thing as an ugly win…especially a division win…the Saints defense played probably their best game of the season and it still wasn’t good enough…This was a big win guys, Brees and Co. really wanted this game…

  33. Buc1987 Says:

No Vjax for almost the entire season.

Most of the WR corps has been decimated with injuries.

Jameis was running for his life. Playing the gambler as usual.

All of this stuff takes place. Yet they STILL win.

    #FAMILY
    #BELIEVE

  34. Bucs Ace Says:

Anybody know what Vjax current status is………was he at the game today? Would love to see him paired with Evans for this playoff run !!!!

  35. NCFlorIdiot Says:

Joe, I love your site… but you act like you’re rewarding someone by taking away the “Den of Depression” label

  36. Jared DePiro Says:

Need that defense this Sunday! Also hoping Mike Evans can have a big game to boost the offense!
