Remembering The Veterans

November 11th, 2016

veterans-day

Joe understands there are a whole lot of guys (girls, too?) who served our country who read this here site daily.

Today, Joe does every year, Joe salutes you. Not because you read this site (though Joe appreciates that a great deal) but Joe salutes what you did for the rest of us. Thank you for your service. And for those who are still in uniform, a robust thank you as well.

The two Joes are sons of men who served in the Pacific Theater in World War II under very different circumstances, but both with the same purpose and goal. Service men and women mean a lot to Joe.

As Joe does each year, Joe will go to either an American Legion hall today, or a VFW outpost, lay cash on the bar and tell the bartender to buy a round of drinks. Then Joe will quickly walk out the door.

You don’t have to buy a vet drinks, but Joe is sure a simple thanks if you meet a vet today would mean a lot.

Never forget.

Absolutely second that Joe! A hearty thank you to all of our veterans, and a fervent wish for Godspeed on their safe return home. God bless you all!

Did anyone else notice both Terrelle Pryor and Joe Haden shake the hand of every serviceman (woman) on the sidelines last night? Well done.

Absolutely Joe, and someone needs to tell the 2 losing Tampa franchises, namely the rays and the bucs that winning encourages a vet as would a promo or two as the rays did with the free tickets of 2015…… Come on Bucs, win a home game for a change, just pretend you are in Chicago, thanks to youe ineptitude it will look like a home game to the Bears!

    Thanks Joe(s)!

First time I came to this site was while being deployed in Iraq (In 2009 I believe) and it’s become an obsession ever since! Thanks for bringing us daily news and nuggets, especially for those of us that live outside the Bay Area…or even country!

    Happy Veterans Day!

One of the cool gathering places is Legion Post 111 in Seminole Heights, open to the public, stop by and buy a vet a drink.

I was in the Army, I wouldn’t join now for a million dollar signing bonus. How long has it been, since a veteran was Commander in Chief ( 24 years ). Let’s see, Donald Trump, high lottery number, not drafted. Barack Obama, no service, George W Bush, Stateside service, Texas National Guard, Bill Clinton, high draft number and not drafted. It’s disrespectful to veterans that these Commander In Chiefs has not served their country, but then they run the country.

    Thanks for your support Joe!

@LakeLandBuc – You’re missing the entire point of the holiday. You’re pushing an agenda. It has nothing to do with veterans. It’s inappropriate.
