Pamphile Cleared; Starting O-Line Returns

November 25th, 2016

kevin pamphileHuge news out of One Buc Palace this morning.

Starting left guard Kevin Pamphile, who was having a whale of season before missing the last two games with concussion-related issues, has been cleared to play.

Per Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, Dirk Koetter says Pamphile is ready to roll.

Yeah, head injuries are no joke in the modern NFL, but what a bonus it should be for Pamphile to come back with totally fresh legs. A Bucs’ 2015 fifth-round pick, Pamphile should be firing off the ball against the Seahawks.

The Bucs’ starting line is now back at full strength. Few NFL teams across the league can say that. Hell, even the Bucs’ starting defensive line is healthy.

Joe can’t think of any remaining excuses for Doug Martin. Rust is gone. O-line is back. Go run for 4 1/2 yards per carry.

you are right Joe, we can have hope for the end of the season, especially if Cecil Shorts is really waking up,

    Great

  3. Jason Says:

I dunno if this really helps, after all he’s received very poor grades from Pro Football Focus, so how good can be really be?

    /snark off

  4. SofloBucsfan Says:

Great news! If there’s any chance of beating the Hawks, it’ll rely on the O-line protecting Jameis and opening up holes for Martin & co.!

  5. Defense Rules Says:

Let’s see, starting OLine back, plus Evan Smith should be back in a week or two to provide depth. Doug Martin is back, and Jaquizz Rodgers & Charles Sims are both practicing now and should be back for the last 4 games. WRs have improved a bunch and are stepping up, and Jameis is really pulling it all together. DLine is healthy for a change, as is the rest of the defense. Special teams have been hot and coaches have really got everyone playing ‘complimentary football’.

So what’s wrong with this picture? Why are so many media and fans looking at the Bucs as a house of cards and holding their breath waiting for it all to collapse like last year? Bucs may or may not make the playoffs this year (depends on what the Falcons do?) but let’s give them credit for playing some good football … and keep expecting more of the same. 8-8 or even 9-7 is perfectly doable.

  6. Louis Friend Says:

Time to step up to the plate against possibly the best team in the league Sunday and beat them. Or stand toe-to-toe with them and go down brawling.

Like Ayers said – the one thing the team needs to do is – win. Ain’t that profound?

  7. Louis Friend Says:

    @Defense Rules

The Buc’s body of work is short when it comes to complete game victories. And the media hasn’t forgotten the defense getting strafed for 1000 passing yards in a two game stretch during the last month. The media says “prove it”.

  8. Jerry G Says:

@Jason. I can’t believe you follow those guys at PFF. Obviously you just pay attention to the WRs and anyone else who touches the ball.out of all the teams in the league Tampa is actually healthy(literally)on both sides of the ball and people still don’t think we can make a playoff push…go prove the wrong boys!they just gave Fameis an extra chip on his shoulder.👋tomahawk chop!

  9. Trotter Says:

To me, the games that really hurt the perception of Tampa are the losses to the Rams and the raiders. Close games that really would’ve shown the doubters that the Bucsfan are truly on the way back. A win against Seattle and all excuses will be gone. Go bucs!

  10. Jason Says:

    Jerry G,
You obviously need to work on your reading comprehension lol.
Definition of “snark” – sarcastic criticism

  11. Trotter Says:

Winning the close ones would have negated the blowout losses as anomalies… 7 and 3 better than 5 and 5… Compo’s great..

  12. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Outside of losing VJax, Simms and a few backups, and with the guys we’ve gotten back, we might be one of the healthiest teams in the league down the stretch.

  13. SeattleBuc Says:

Cant wait for this game, proudly sporting my Bucs jacket around town after dusting it off after the Chiefs game. Hoping Jameis does his best Josh Freeman against the Hawks when Josh threw 5 touchdowns in 2010.

  14. Kevin Says:

IF..IF Jameis plays the same way he played against KC this Sunday, we can win for sure, but its going to take the same level of play. He suprised last week lets see if he can hipefully do it again.

I will tell you right now what the key will be, one he needs to spread the ball around, dont go back to trying to force it to Evans evwry play.

Second, for the last two games we have been seeing the bucs play some man coverage. Keep that up and its doable.

If thebucs win Sunday they are legit. Even if they lose I will still be happy with a clean game, strong effort and a close score.

    Go bucs!!

  15. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

We will have to run the ball well to beat the Seahawks.

  16. Kobe Faker Says:

Dont forget, jaboos toughest games were when defenses are playing tight man and pressuring with the front

Jameis always played well against zone defenses. If jameis gets time, i think jameis has developed enough to tear up zone coverages
Remember, yes atl is not sea, but quinn is a sea zone deciple and jaboo never had a bad/difficult time will this zone defense

Some kind of destiny magic happening in 1 buc place. Marcus peters misses our game last week and now earl tomas will miss his 1st game in his career.

This is getting really wierd folks. Kobe might have to do his reverse jinx and sacrifice his posting privilages again

    Kobe “the 12th man” Faker

  17. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Actually the best news all week

  18. Kevin Says:

Yeah but seattle will play man coverage as well. They know you cany play zone every snap.and expcect to win like Lovie did, or Mike.Smith the first 8 weeks.of.our season

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Grrreat news for what it’s worth.

  20. Issic Haggins Says:

Martin is the third or fourth best yards per carry back on this roster, numbers don’t lie people !!! He has a great run and then runs into his own block !!

  21. mike10 Says:

Wasn’t he formally known as one of 2 milk cartons?

  22. Jarod lauderdale Says:

I knew there was a reason I didn’t like Kobe faker . Not a man of his word because he is posting again , talks about himself in the 3rd party , and now says there’s magic happening with the bucs season when his past posts about them are far from magic.im tatted in bucs , converted fans of other teams into bucs fans used to be a season ticket holder until I moved to Canton Ohio and will be the first to walk into my local watering hole and sit in the back with the crazy raiders nation there while watching bucs vs raiders. I get mad n $hit when we lose ! But do not bash these bucs ! Jameis can frighten ball n they have showed heart ! I will and have traveled to watch away games just to get one in live every now and again from Ohio ! You fools ought to be ashamed of yourself s for all of the empty seats ! Come on bucs fans , we need to be apart of the solution !

  23. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

If we want to win do not let EDS even think he’ll be getting a chance to play. He is one of the worst linemen we got and will grind the offense to a halt. The backs will have nowhere to run and Jameis will get murdered.
