A New Tradition Blossoming

November 21st, 2016
Uniting college football foes as into the Bucs brotherhood.

Healing ill will among college football foes while uniting the community.

Yesterday, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, made no secret the Chiefs fans who have hijacked Florida State’s famous Warchant cry played right into his passion.

In the process, Jameis may have spawned a new Bucs tradition, and also planted the seeds of unity and harmony among Bucs fans who are mortal enemies on Saturdays.

Joe’s Twitter timeline went wild yesterday after posting the news that Jameis thanked Chiefs fans for the Warchant cry. In fact, one Florida Gators fan suggested, while he loathes Florida State to his core, if it means helping Jameis he will throw out his shoulder doing the Tomahawk Chop to fire up Jameis at Bucs games.

Seeing this, a Seminoles fan offered an olive branch. If Gators fans chop for Jameis, then his fellow Seminoles fans should do the Gator Chomp each time cornerback Vernon Hargreaves makes a play.

See what Jameis has done? He is delivering what the late great Chris Thomas always desired: Unity in the community!

It was virtually unanimous from in Joe’s timeline, the way Jameis played Sunday with the Warchant cry ringing in his ears, Bucs fans want this to happen at the Den of Depression.

And if Gators and Canes fans can swallow their pride in order to chop for  the Bucs and Jameis (there you got Gators fans: chop for Jameis), then Noles fans ought to chomp for Hargreaves as well.

Unity in the community. All thanks to Jameis.

I never understood rooting for a college you never attended. I’d do anything to get this team to win though

  2. Brooks Says:

If we can only get the war chant going this Sunday at the Den

Didn’t think it was a big deal jameis was a nole. Im only mad at him we he misses a wide open wr. As a lifelong gator and Buc, my 2 favorite Bucs of all time are Brooks and Dunn. If Jameis continues to grow, its gonna be a helluva ride.

  4. Buc50 Says:

@Tampa Tony you mean like all those Cowboy fans that root for that team even though most have never even been to the state, let alone been to Dallas. I root for all Florida schools and I have never attended any of them.

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

I just can’t get over that picture! Somebody was paying attention during Photoshop class!!!

  6. Magicbuc Says:

Only if everyone throws up the U every time Mike James touches the ball (since he is the only UM player on the roster)!

  7. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe

Buc1987 will not say it, But since him, CouchFan, Buc Bonzai, The Buc Realist and maybe SB with Jameis, since he called out kobe faker who lost in the”loser leaves town” match!!!! Will now be known as “The Buc’s Disciples” since we all called for the Bucs culture changing win!!!! As the true believers, we demand admin status to write on people comments!!!! and under our names but above the date in time it will say ” The Buc’s Disciples”

  8. rrsrq Says:

I’m a Cane, but I was good with the war chant at Arrowhead for Roberto & jameis. However, I hope it does not come to Rayjay. When we were winning, I rooted for DB55, WD28 & even Brad Johnson, heck, I even was rooting for Kenyatta Walker, Reidell Anthony & Jacquez Green as hard as I rooted for #99, but please no chomp

  9. Clodhopper Says:

    So it!

  10. Clodhopper Says:

    Do it!!

  11. DB55 Says:

Rejoice!!! O ye of little faith! For our savior is here!!!

  12. Patrick in VA Says:

This is one of the many things that being a fan from afar keeps me on the outside of, but I feel like this should be a no brainer. Your QB says he gets charged up when he hears it. Your kicker doesn’t miss a single kick all day. You beat a team that’s a heavy playoff contender in their house. Why is there a question? If he likes to hear people squawking like chickens then there should be 50,000 people in the stands squawking their team to victory. I’ve seen the way that the majority of your write on this site and I would put a lot of money on most of you not going to any of the colleges in question, so since we’re all die hard enough to be spending our time on this site then everyone should be chanting and chomping their way to W after W.

  13. MadMax Says:

Lets just chill a little and get back to earth. A great win, no doubt. But what usually follows that?….

  14. Patrick in VA Says:

@MadMax – Much like the losing mentality that’s being purged from the locker room, so too should the loser mentality be purged from these comments sections. For too long voices like yours have been shouting down the optimists and for too long the play on the field has mirrored the mentality of fans like you. They’re turning over a new leaf and we should as well. Why not support them with some positive reinforcement? What good does it do to try to be negative? You’re still going to watch, right? Of course you are. Why not be excited about what we’re seeing? We wanted Jameis to be a leader and a winner and he’s figuring out how to do it. Let’s give the kid some support.

  15. pick6 Says:

i would not do the chop. not because i’m a fan of some other college team, but because it has nothing to do with the bucs or bucs fans. it’s awful short sighted to think that with some time and some victories, the “TAMPA……BAY!” chant could fire him up just as much.

JW was in college 2 years. next month he will have played more games as a buc than he ever will as a Nole

  16. orlbucfan Says:

My U didn’t have football, so this argument makes me chuckle. I’m a pro football fan. They can blow a unified Bronx cheer at RJS. If it helps the team win, I’m all for it!!!! Hey Joe, what’s with the Jesus bit? You gettin’ religious now? 🙂

  17. 813bucboi Says:

nawl…im a die hard gator fan….never in a million years will I do that chop or chant…..don’t care if it hypes jameis up or not I aint doing it….I already have a Winston jersey and wear it proudly….GO BUCS!!!!

  18. Buc1987 Says:

    Realist…lol demand!

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Realist…I’ve already stated on a few occasions that “the prophet has spoken” in a joking manor…so I have problem with this disciples thing.

I’m also JBF’s own Jameis Winston Authority

I feel I’m wired into this team more than the last 5 years. Thanks Joe or is it Jameis Winston??? Ha ha ha

Btw…we do get the most “hits” in the comment section. The Bucs Disciples…hmmm…. has a nice ring to it.

You’re still the crazy disciple though…

  20. Buc1987 Says:

    have NO problem**

  21. greg Says:

Would never do the FSU chant…ever…only one college football team should be supported in Ray Jay and that is USF!

  22. Clodhopper Says:

It IS a no brainer. The sound guy should already have it in his lineup by now!! There is no conceivable reason to not do it. You’re not a Gator on Sundays, you’re a Buc. You can either be a Gator on Saturday and a Buc on Sunday, or you could be a little girl bitch on BOTH days. Up to you folks!!

  23. Buc1987 Says:

    Clod…LMFAO.

As a Nole I concur…but the chant WILL have to altered. As a Nole that is.

  24. orlbucfan Says:

NoSBoS needs to get back on here, and be head cheerleader. And nope, I have no dog in this hunt. I’m just a LOUD and PROUD Tampa Bay Bucs fan!!!

  25. SB with Jameis Says:

I have been a Gator for 45 years and I LOVE this idea!!!

    …………………….
I just talked to him yesterday on the phone. He and I have a Bucs Jersey bet on this weekend;’s UF/FSU game. He stopped coming here cause he says the Joes were erasing his comments.

  27. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I really, really hate the picture, lol.

I like the idea of the warchant, but I wish pirates had a cool chant too. Yelling Arrgh! doesn’t make much a soundbite. 😉

  28. Bucsfanman Says:

Yeah, and hard to incorporate that into a “Tampa………..Bay”-like stadium chant!

  29. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc Bonzai

I think the term is a “Sea Shanty” !!!!! We just need to pick one and start it at the stadium!!!!!!!!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CuyLbC2TZo

the only one I even really know is the “Druken Sailor” at 10:22 on this!!!!

    Snob much?

  31. SeanyMac in SC Says:

RayJ needs some kind of chop or chomp that gets the crowd and team fired up. I don’t have any slick ideas but it sure as hell not #SiegeTheDay.

  32. The Buc Realist Says:

I think we have to pick a “Sea Shanty”!!!!

  33. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Seany mac they can call it the Buc Stomp. With a Native Indian type drum beat in the background all Buc fans stomp on beat at the same time. If anyones seen the Movie House Party there’s a serious beat in the beginning that would be perfect! All while they’re doing the war chant. On third down that would make some noise. Unfortunately alot of people will get up to do it and offend some yuppy with his mocha late expresso . Like to see the gestapo a stoppo that! Joes you should contact team headquarters with that idea, really get the fans into the game!

  34. Al Says:

I like the idea of the chant. However, wouldn’t the extra noise from the stands during the offensive series potentially harm the team? I’d hate to see a false start because the chant was going on. After a touchdown it would be cool but not during the offensive series in my opinion.

  35. tval Says:

    Amen, clod…lol!! Amen.

  36. John Says:

    Tampa Tony neither have I

  37. Drew Says:

Can we do something along the lines of “Walking Da Plank” with a pirate chop?

  38. jameisaintnopunk Says:

i for one say this to all you good people, of the bay area and surrounding local’s, and to all ya’ll great fans of the gator’s, nole’s, bulls, hurricanes, knights, yada, yada, yada. who gives a rat’s ass, what happens on saturday, if your tried and true, and bleed pewter and red, shout the war chant till your dead, pump up young jameis and roberto too, have some pride in our crew, make the hawks, squirm like toads, when they hear the chant for our ex nole’s

  39. Bucnut2 Says:

Ok- how quickly can I call BS. This is a terrible post. Joe’s would you kindly send me a year supply of whatever you are smoking?

  40. Bucnut2 Says:

Patrick inVA- you sir are spot on. Ignore these homers who are not objective.

  41. Bucs fan #7243 Says:

    bucnuts2 tears taste good

  42. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Tony and John..me either..I have these crazy neighbours who are Gator fans..when I asked them if they went to UF, they said no..they never went to college..My answer to them?

    Oh…

  43. MadMax Says:

@Patrick, until things are consistently changing for the better, its where I am. The last 4 years Ive been on here cheering and getting hopes up after such a game only to be knocked back down. Now theres some others here a whole lot worse than me, I dont get that extreme. But I know Buc reality the last 10 years.

  44. Herbie Says:

Please! NO! Not that mindless, annoying war chant. If Jameis needs it maybe Koetter can sing it to him when he’s calling in the plays..”na na na…65 toss power trap..na na na na na”.
