The longest tenured Buccaneer chimes in

Demar Dotson is nothing special as a right tackle. But as the longest tenured Buccaneer, a Mark Dominik signing in 2009, Dotson has major street cred when it comes to Den of Depression history.

In the victorious Tampa Bay postgame locker room this evening, Dotson was all fired up about the Bucs’ new home field advantage.

“I’ve never heard the crowd that loud,” Dotson said, gushing about the Bucs faithful today.

Dotson has been around for a few big games. Joe’s not joking. Who could forget the huge December 2010 game against the Falcons, the Mo Stovall nightmare? That was a raucous environment. And there have been others, for sure.

Joe heard great energy from the Bucs faithful through the thick press box glass against Seattle. It was certainly a strong atmosphere. It sure helps when there’s so damn much to cheer about. Six sacks! Joe almost hugged a strange woman at the soda machine.

In all seriousness, the crowd showed up today and made an impact on the players.

That’s where it counts. Any little edge is huge for an emerging young team like the Bucs.

  4. SeanyMacinSC Says:

I thought Dotson’s weekly holding penalty was going to impact the game, got lucky I did not cause a loss.

  5. Nicholas Carlson Says:

@NCFlorIdiot NFL Rewind will have the game.

  6. Tampa Tony Says:

Gotta give us something to get loud for. Great home win

  7. Doctor Stroud Says:

That penalty, I believe, was a hands-to-the-face infraction, but I just didn’t see it when they slowed down the action on the replay. Did anyone have a different assessment? Yes, a penalty on Dotson is as sure as the sun rising in the East, but not on that play. The refs were keeping Seattle in the game.

  8. Rrsrq Says:

Ever saw the hands to the face by Dotson in the replay

  9. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

    Love to hear that noise!

  10. ATLBucsFan Says:

Even the announcer didn’t see a hands to the face penalty on the replay.

  11. NCFlorIdiot Says:

Thanks Nicholas Carlson, I just didn’t want to have to wait that long… The Bucs are finally kicking some ass, just very impatient to see the game! lol Go Bucs!!!

    @NC

If you have NFL game pass, you can watch the condensed version of the game and also the coach’s tape.

  13. The Buc Realist Says:

Doctor Stroud hit the nail on the head, until I see differently, there was no hands to the face!!!!! I saw way worse committed by Seahawks Oline but they do not get called on much by refs!!!!

  14. TheShaz Says:

For three games in a row, the Bucs were the more physical on both sides of the ball.

The the defense played lights out today. The offense scored twice and ate the clock. Right now the only negative thing I can think of is Aguayo.($%^&*# !!!!)

Joe, you heard the Coach, time to rename the DEN OF DEPRESSION…..

    Something original.
    Something that fits the team.

    Get to work on it!

  15. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

I was there like I am all games! I told you Bucs have faith! I yelled all downs when we were on defense and the reason is because we are the best team in the NFL! We overcame adversity due to the refs. We came together as a team because we are great. We win because quite frankly we are the better football team. Go Bucs!!

  16. Kobe Faker Says:

These 2 back to back wins against kc and sea should mKe the gla $ers happy

Beginning of the year, they had no shot of any prime time games by the way they were playing. Now they probably have 2. Probably 1 home game if the fans show

  17. davis385 Says:

great game guys I couldn’t breathe I was yelling so loud after the first 2 drives wish we could have scored more but a win is a win and we will take it and to answer the question about Dotson and the hands to the face call BOOOOOOOOOOOO boot that I saw guys

  18. BuccaneEric75 Says:

The national shows won’t give us any love. The story will be that the Seahawks blew it. On to San Diego.

  19. softastissueMcCoy93 Says:

  21. NCFlorIdiot Says:

Thanks Scurvy Dogs… I only have NFL Sunday Ticket though… and I only pay for that so I can watch the Bucs every week… win or lose… Go Bucs!!!

  22. Dizim Says:

Damn Joe you still don’t sound happy. Smile dammit 6-5!!!!!

  23. Lunchbox Says:

Being on the east coast of Florida, I barely get to any games. Hell, I don’t even see every game, but I always knew the REAL local Buc fans would start showing themselves when our team gives them a reason to. I’ll be there for our game against the Saints with my family of 6! I had a feeling there would be playoff implications! C’mon Bucs! Your city, your fanbase wants to shout your praises! Keep up the intensity! Your fans believe in you!

  24. Architek Says:

I’m tired of Dotson and Cherilus. They are liabilities and hopefully we can upgrade the position next year and move Dot to a reserve role.
