“We Definitely Punched Them In The Mouth”

Seattle had six turnovers all season before today’s game against the Bucs. Now they have 10 turnovers. (Photo courtesy of Tampa Bay Buccaneers.)

Perhaps only one man on the field today really understands what the Bucs accomplished against the Seahawks.

Joe’s talking about the Buccaneer not named J.R. Sweezy who owns a Seahawks Super Bowl ring. That would be starting defensive tackle Clinton McDonald.

McDonald got his first shot at facing his old team today, and it felt great.

His brothers on the defensive line — McDonald always calls teammates “brothers” — helped hammer Russell Wilson for six sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbled.

McDonald knows how physical and nasty Seattle plays, even if their O-line talent isn’t top shelf. Talking to Joe, McDonald stopped short of saying the Bucs crushed their will.

“I wouldn’t just say the Bucs broke their spirit, but we definitely punched them in the mouth,” McDonald said. “And we definitely came out and executed our assignment. It was our game today.”

McDonald added that this Bucs defense is being “groomed to be great,” and is starting to play with the togetherness of a championship unit.

Offense and defense lines both were scrapping! I saw Ali mixing it up with their guys ! Was yelling at the screen GET HIM ALI GET HIM Don’t take no crap off of those sea chickens! What a game!

  4. Doctor Stroud Says:

The Bucs came out aggressive in all three phases of the game. Richard Sherman was whining to the refs well into the third quarter about ME13’s touchdown on him all the way back in the first quarter! That’s when I knew that the Bucs were in their heads. Good job, Bucs!

  5. Rojas Says:

Loved how they didn’t shy away from Sherman.

@cometowin2 I couldn’t say it any better. Bucs-you now have your formula. Not talking about game plan (changes every week), I’m talking about intensity. The intensity you felt in your wins against K.C. and Seattle. Hold onto that fire, and bring that to EVERY GAME. And we’ll have the Bucs team we all hope for.
