“His Reps Will Go Up”

Mike James returns to center stage?

Mike James returns to center stage?

Doug Martin dreams aside, the Bucs have to pick a guy to establish a running game against the bungling Bears on Sunday.

Heaven knows the Bucs can’t seem to win a game if they’re not pounding the rock. Perhaps that has something to do with the receiving corps talent?

Joe wants to see running back Mike James be that guy. He did it in 2013 against the Seahawks and Dolphins. Man, James was a beast hammering the ball 28 times for 158 yards against the eventual Super Bowl champs and their beastly defense.

Why Greg Schiano and Mike Sullivan stopped feeding him the rock with more than seven minutes remaining Joe will never understand.

The Bucs’ sixth-round pick in 2013, James was cut in preseason after injuring his hamstring in a joint practice with the Browns, Dirk Koetter revealed on the Buccaneers Radio Network last night.

James was released with an injury settlement, got healthy, was signed to the Lions practice squad and the Bucs signed him back a week ago.

With running back Antone Smith out for the year with an ankle injury, Koetter said of James, “His reps will go up.”

James has a real shot to revive his career with eight games to play. If he can churn out at least 3.5 yards a carry, stay healthy and block for America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, then James certainly will have a job next year.

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo has always like Miguel Hames…..Hamus handing to Hames…..that excites Pablo. Pablo doesn’t know if Hames has an elongated arc….but he certainly has gigante cajones”

I’d love to see James get the bulk of the carries going forward. Big tough runner, as long as he can stay healthy.

When healthy – James is a solid running back… When he is injured he is not so good… Too bad he is always injured… Not so good…

Jobs for next year? I don’t give a darn what players do the rest of the year. No one’s job should be secure. We need competition moving forward. It’s time to start drafting the best players available and improve our talents across the board.

Back in 2013 Mike James played half the season (8 games), gained 5 yds/carry plus caught 10-of-11 passes. I was impressed. Along came 2014 and Mike must’ve been in Lovie’s doghouse because he saw close to zero action. Been banged up & bruised quite a bit, but it’ll be interesting to see if he can be ‘the man’ now that we’re down to the backups to our backups. Opportunity’s ringing Mike. Make the most of it.

Come on Mike, you know how we do it in Polk County.

In the first half of his career martin was injured 2 of four years, and he never returned from injury with any effectiveness.

Now that he has been injured and extended, do you expect anything different?

    Sign Ray Rice!!!

    F the media!

If Donald Trump is good enough to be elected then why not sign

    Ray Rice???

Love that we have James back. Interesting idea teacherman.. He could be had very cheap.

  10. Brandon Says:

If Ray Rice could still play he would’ve been on a team two seasons ago. He hasn’t been a productive player since 2012 and hasn’t played since 2013. His career was effectively over four years ago.
