West Coast Willies

October 20th, 2016

left-coastFly over, tune in and drop dead.

That seems to be the motto for the Bucs when they travel to the left coast.

Aside from the glorious Super Bowl win at San Diego in January 2003, the history of the Bucs on the left coast is a nightmare. Call it the California vibes or the scenery or whatever, the Bucs tend to struggle like few NFL teams when traveling three time zones to the west, as data-driven Thomas Bassinger of the Tampa Bay Times Twitters.

Bassinger adds the Bucs have lost five straight on the west coast. Their last win in California was in 2012, when Doug Martin ran wild on the Raiders. And at the time, it seemed like the Bucs were marching in the midst of a playoff chase.

After that game, the Bucs were 4-4. If the Bucs beat the 49ers Sunday, they will be 3-3.

Another sign of how mentally weak the team as been while, 93 has been in a leadership role. Cash check and give up the booty has been the bucs motto during the tenure of the weak overrated former face of the franchise…. Maybe the bucs need a drum cycle followed by group hug therapy session to rid the demons…

While I love reading your comments, they’re interesting to say the least. Someone said you do go to every thread to voice your displeasure of#93 & #22
We get it… You’ve been duly noted. C’mon man. I believe they both come back hungry, ready to go.
They all have the will to win…
They need that desire to not lose

Do not overstate your anti-GMC rhetoric; it dilutes the credibility of the rest of what you say. Fine–blame 5-15 on GMC and his ‘mentally weak’ cancerous culture he brings to the team. Before the Vet was shut down in 2003 by our beloved Bucs, you may recall that we were 1-23 in cold weather games–a statistic also easy to blame on low mental constitution. Lots of mentally weak teams dot the Bucs’ history in that statistic, but Lee Roy Selmon’s Bucs went 0-for-cold and Father Dungy was 0-5. The lone win previous to the NFC Championship was a few weeks earlier, when Rosary-G kicked 5 figgies to clinch the first-round bye against Chicago.

I blame Eye-RAH Kaufman. Since he cajoled a perfectly fine interwebs establishment like JoeBucsFan.com into allowing him to spread his drivel here, did you know the Bucs are winless out west? In fact, you have to go all the way back to 2013 to find the previous Bucs loss out near Hippy-land–and check the flight records in Seattle…I bet Ira was THERE! Yes, I’ve unveiled the real reason why Tampa Bay struggles three time zones away–it’s the Canton Custodian himself!! The sooner we replace his opinion on this site (both in written and audio format), the sooner we get back to winning!

buccan8, are we to understand that you don’t care for Ira’s “written and audio” opinion?

Perfect chance to show signs of a changing culture

5-15 left coast record looks really awful. However, how far off is that from our winning percentage since god Gruden joined FFCA? My guess would be that both our West coast record and overall record show a similar trend, one we are annually trying to break free from. Show us what you’ve got Jameis!!

Gmc and his losing ways have infected the entire roster thus making it relevant to posts about streaks, effort (lack of,), do not underestimate the damage 93 has done to this team especially on defense. You need to look no further than lvd and his mediocre plays last two years. The culture will not change until the disease that is cancer93 is eradicated

Let’s hope our defense doesn’t allow “Mr. Microphone” to make himself relevant this week. Sometimes it seems the Bucs are the team that can cure what ails another team. Just look what happened with the latest Rams game…hadn’t scored an offensive TD prior to playing us…cured.

Let’s unleash the “Muscle Gerbil” on the west coast!!! I do think Quizz and Evans are going to have a fun week.

Stack the reasons why the Bucs stink out west to the moon. Jet lag, brain fog, dry air, lousy effort, star unstudded and on and on. If the Bucs can’t stomp the 49ers this time, what a bummer! A win or face the fan wrath.
