Feeling The Tempo

Can pace overcome rotten talent?

Can pace overcome rotten talent?

49ers chieftain Chip Kelly likes to run as many plays as he can while his offense is on the field.

In his three-plus years as an NFL head coach, Kelly’s offense has had limited success. Yesterday, Dirk Koetter talked about the challenges of a defense keeping up with Kelly’s fast-paced offense.

“It’s hard to, it is hard to,” Koetter said. “My experience with that – of course we played against [Kelly] up at Philly – is that usually you have to get into the game and sometimes it takes a couple series before the defensive players can really fully adjust. Obviously, we try to duplicate it in practice, but it’s not easy to duplicate that tempo.”

Look, Joe isn’t losing sleep over this. Most other NFL teams are just as unfamiliar to this fast-paced offense as the Bucs. This just in: San Francisco’s record is garbage.

Yes, Joe understands the Bucs have new defenders starting and have a new scheme from last year, and have new defensive coaches. But the Bucs had zero issue facing Kelly’s then-Eagles squad last year in a blowout win. The majority of Bucs defenders return from last year’s squad. They did just fine.

Joe is of the mind the fast pace of Kelly’s offense is terribly overrated.

    So far, we have not faced a QB with the skill set like the kneeler from sanfran. I personally think the offense will give this game away and our defense will get too tired and the 49ers will squeak out a W against a more talented Bucs team.

    lol wow what a troll u are @FiretheGlazers I agree with joe chips offense overrated and well def win and also Control The clock

    ^if that kneeling A$$HOLE and the GOLD DIGGERS win………. IIIIIIIII can’t even, I can’t, I won’t say, I… We cannot let this happen. I’m just gonna zip it. I can’t stand this f’n guy! Please WHOOP these guys BUCS, it won’t b pretty if there’s a L @ the end of the day. As scary as the season has been, this is a beautiful opportunity to get some confidence!

    I just want a win, has nothing to do with Kap, but Kaps running ability does warrant accountability by the LBs. Bucs need this win, why, because we need to get on some type of winning streak that hasn’t happened in how many years. So those of you that want a win because you don’t like Kap, I can assure you, that will not be the Bucs motivation.

    @Rrsrq

    I think our ends and LB’s have the speed to control kap. They just need to play disciplined. But if we mess up the rushing lanes. He can burn us a bit. I think we roll this one. I forsee Rogers having another great game and us having a conservative game management approach.

    @dislocated,

    I’m with you, it may not be a pretty win, but it can be a good win

  7. MadMax Says:

    Break a leg Kap…..seriously!

    Their star rb is out so he’ll be the one running. And we know if he throws it’ll be picked off. So yeah, I think we win by 14 or more. We’ll see.

  8. tmaxcon Says:

    Maybe schiano has a few minutes to get on the phone to LVD to remind him how to tackle since he has forgotten that skill since schiano left.

  9. BucinJAX Says:

    Colon Krappernick, better be able to run fast if he keeps disrespecting this nation and the military members that gave the ultimate sacrifice. If he keeps up with is kneeling and his stupid comments he’ll become a bug looking for a windshield.

  10. Kobe Faker Says:

    Who is our defensive ends that will contain the edges?

    Chip likes to scheme his players in open space. He will pull the linebacker to follow the receiver cross patterns and run and screen underneath. Alot of plays around the edge. Kellys bread and butter plays are our weakness

    Our bozo brothers- lvd and kwonie are the worst at crossing pattern coverage. Big big game by te celek and slot wr kerley…crossing patterns for days

  11. unbelievable Says:

    Wow, Kobe almost made a good point… Almost.

    But then he starts talking out his a$$ again as usual.

    Not really. They do fine in short crossing routes because both have great speed sideline to sideline.

    The biggest problem the defense has had imo is big plays on blown coverage (either not the right defensive call or too much time for a play to develop). Most points we’ve given up have been on short field turnovers or big plays down the field due to blown coverage.

    Greg Olsen didn’t kill us on short crossing routes. He killed us running down the field and on long developing plays where we had no pressure.

    Kaepernick loves watching his anthem kneel down on the big screen. Styling with the frizzed out explosion on his head. Should bring in hairdressing sculptor to trim up an image of Mickey Mouse on his head.

  14. KY Buc Fan Says:

    I support Kap and what he is standing (kneeling) for! I never cheer against my Bucs tho, for no one!

  15. KY Buc Fan Says:

    How is he disrespecting the nation or the military? As a matter of fact F*ck this nation until we as black men start getting the same respect that most military personnel don’t even enjoy once they return from active duty!

    Ky, yup you need some love respect and ky up your poopshoot…youre an idiot!
