Too Much Heart?

October 9th, 2016
Forcing plays.

Forcing plays.

In too many games this year, the flag for America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, has been flying at half-mast.

Jameis is second in the NFL in picks with eight, trailing only putrid vagabond quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Blame it on receivers, blame it on the wind, whatever. Bucs coach Dirk Koetter has said at the end of the day, Jameis must shoulder the blame.

So what’s the deal with all the picks? Jenna Laine of ESPN has a novel approach. She seems to think, after listening to some Bucs coaches, that Jameis may just have too big of a heart, as Laine suggested in a recent BSPN podcast.

“What’s going on right now is [Jameis] is trying to do too much,” Laine said of Jameis’ turnovers. “He’s trying to make plays happen when they can’t be made. … He is a guy who fights to the finish no matter what.”

Even Jameis has hinted he needs to start learning the famous NFL concept of live to fight another down. There is no harm in tossing the ball out of bounds if no one is open and there is nowhere to run.

Jameis could get away with forcing balls against the Wake Forests and Pitts and Clemsons and Auburns of the world. In the NFL, Jameis is playing against grown arse men.

It’s as if he’s playing in the Rose Bowl vs Mariotta and the Ducks all over again. He’s overmatched with inferior weapons ( particularly with Martin out and ASJ’s insistance on his love of wine coolers over an NFL career ) and plays desperate. It’s been tough to watch these last 3 games.

I can deal with turnovers when there not in the Bucs red zone, and there not in the opponents red zone. Problem is those seem to be the two places Jamie’s throws them.

Other than a few years, this team has been one big clown show. Lose tomorrow night and I guarantee more fans will be gone forever.

Mike James clears waivers on Sept 29 and Licht doesn’t resign him, he is now with the Lions………..He is also a guy that doesn’t put you in 2nd and 11 like the current starters and can get a third and one, unlike the current backs. As a starter over three games he avg 4.9 a carry and was a work horse , # 3 needs a work horse !!!! Another stubborn GM costing his team . What The hell is Licht thinking, has he not noticed the run game since Martin went down , there isn’t one !!! James may not be a great back but he is exactly what the Bucs need. Licht be the freakin GM not the coaches friend !!!

    Not in his DNA.

    Does not compute.

Gunslinger Bucs fans, an evolving one.

Live and die with it now. I’ll live it with it. Can you?
