Robert Ayers Out For Rams

September 23rd, 2016
Wearing a boot.

Ankle injury puts Robert Ayers on floppy hat patrol Sunday.

Now this is an absence, unlike ASJ, that will hurt the Bucs.

Robert Ayers is out for the home opener Sunday against the Rams, per the injury report just released by the Bucs. He did not practice all week.

Joe is guessing rookie second round pick Noah Spence, who recorded his first NFL sack Sunday, may get the start. Spence is still learning how to stop the run. Until now, Spence was strictly a pass-rushing specialist.

Wide receiver Cecil Shorts and tight end Luke Stocker are also declared out for Sunday. Previously, running back Doug Martin was announced to be out three weeks with a bum hamstring.

Linebacker Lavonte David (shoulder) and left tackle Donovan Smith (hip) are listed as questionable.

We need to have a big win this Sunday..it’ll help the healing process for the team and the fans..

Tough week for Bucs and the fans..

    Go Bucs!!!!

Injuries starting to mount…..we will surely miss Martin & Ayers…..perhaps Stocker more now because of ASJ…..Hopefully the “Good” Jameis will show up. If that happens, we win!!!

New poll idea, Joe – Who is officially dreading this game vs the Rams?

Pretty sure they can just run right a whichever side Spence is on with Gurley and find success this week. Doesn’t hurt that both Rams tackles, Robinson and Havenstein, are run blocking specialists

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo wonders now that Henkins is gone…..can Pablo’s Bucs spring Aaron Hernandez out on work release?…..at least Aaron didn’t have a DUI. If that won’t work, Pablo suggests bringing Tony Gonzalez out of retirement”

Can we kind of like double team Aaron Donald??

  6. iamkingsu Says:

Not concerned with Gurley he has way too many negative plays and minimum gains and negative plays always looking for the homerun.

I think LVD will make up for lost tackles this week……

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

This does seem like an unusual amount of injuries with the Bucs. The futility at the Cardinals was bruising.

Injuries racking up early for this team. Not good for us.

Gotta wonder if all those extra light practices did more harm than good?

We already know the new CBA with less hitting has had a negative effect on overall performance and health through the league each season…

I wondered why we kept 5 tight ends on the active roster with one also on the PS…..now I know.

Joe, what is up with Lavonte David being shown as “full participation” on practice today and “out” for Sunday on the NFL.com injury report? Is this true or a gaff that is giving me Friday night heartburn for no reason? God knows the TBT would never give a good scoop.

Now how do we stop the Mighty case keenum??? stick a fork in us, we’re done

    FreddyBuc:

Joe’s injury report (which came straight from the Bucs) lists Lavonte David as “questionable” for the game. Joe will have an update Saturday morning.
