ASJ gave the team no choice. He backed them into a corner and they did what they had to do.

  2. The Buc Realist Says:

Nfl Bucs draft 2017 WR, TE Safety!!!

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

It seems some teams have all the bad luck. Bad news Bucs. ASJ obviously overrated, just a big lumbering clumsy softie.

  4. University of Seffner Says:

Even if ASJ found a way to get back in the NFL, and becomes successful, it can’t be said we made a bad decision to cut him. Odds are Austin Seferian-Jenkins won’t be in the NFL in the future.

  5. Kobe Faker Says:

    Nfl is into hybrid TEs

    Great route runners…ala jordan reed

Brate is going to have a monster year..great chemistry with jameis because…

    Brate runs consistant routes

We replace sheppard woth the other malcontent brat keyshawn jackson we are good to go

  6. Destro44 Says:

I’m not saying it was a bad or good decision. I don’t know the guy, never met him. I know Koetter and Licht have and I’m going to trust them. In there ends the destraction isn’t what this young team needs. My only note on this is that it reminds me of Chris Carter in Philly. Young talented immature kid that wire out his welcome. When he got his head straight he did all right though.

  7. The bucfan 88 Says:

Look when u get bump down to 3rd string work your way up to and get in ur HC good graces you don’t go partying and go driving and get arrested look I know some of u are saying the Bucs messed up so be it but I’m sad for ASJ he could have took a uber but instead he chose to get drunk and drive and risk his and other people lives and in my eyes that’s sad I hope he gets help before ever getting any playing time cause what ASJ did was deadly and stupid

  8. phreakybucfan Says:

Absolutely the right call. Not because of the DUI, but because if your out partying until 3 in the morning and you have to be at work at 7, that means you don’t care about your job, and probably have addiction issues. Believe me, I speak from experience.

  9. Lunchbox Says:

We should trade Glennon to Cleveland for Gary Barnidge and maybe conditional draft pick.

  10. BucGator Says:

I agree with cutting him but with our luck he will ball out on another team

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

I..saw this coming. Not from the DUI though. Just as well. The guy lacked that…Want to be great attitude. God knows the tools were there. The NFL is hard work. ASJ flashed occasionally. That was about it. Who Knows? He still might recover. He might be a Blount. Have you guys been watchin him? he’s playing decent ball now. He had to go thru some changes. Now he wants to play hard. Good Luck ASJ. The TB Bucs just were not in your cards.

  12. DB55 Says:

No no no, that’s just stupid. You guys sound like hypocrites as if you’ve never driven home drunk. Come’on you drink a 12 pack on game day. I can see benching him till after the bye week but cutting him is dumb. We are going to need him later in the season.

  13. Kobe Faker Says:

Its just bad luck for us asj had to straightened out here

Philly cut chris carter and was in the same boat as us

Chris carter still thanks buddy ryan for saving his career and possibly his life

And carter was productive- all he does is score touchdowns came from that situation

Imo asj will always be a bust…12 year old mental miget

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I had to say “not sure” only because I don’t know all the facts…..surely he has done more than the DUI…..because if it was just that they could have deactivated him for games until they received a trade….even a 7th round pick….something.
I think Joe knows more than he can tell, perhaps that’s why Joe had been down on ASJ for some time.
    Please give us more info.
I think it’s possible he was intoxicated at that practice where Koetter ran him.

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Body language. There was always something about the way ASJ acted in front of the Bucs cameras that indicated to me he never really wanted to be here. I saw it from day 1. You gotta want to play for a team. And ASJ displayed a..lackadasical attitude in my opinion. He always has. Its unfortunate for us. Because I’m 100% sure he’s going to go somewhere else and be more productive than he was for us. But the show goes on guys. We gotta figure out a way to whip LA!

  16. Stpetebucsfan Says:

This could actually explain a lot. ASJ has acted pretty strangely since he has arrived. We all blew it off to immaturity and lack of character.

If the dude truly has an alcohol problem that would explain erratic behavior.

For all we know the reason Koetter ran him at practice may have been because he smelled booze on ASJ’s breath. I suspect, don’t know, just suspect that the team was aware of this problem and had been dealing with it behind the scenes.

Maybe they had already offered help and ASJ didn’t accept it. They then realized it’s a hopeless situation.

We gotta figure out a way to whip LA!

    ————

Yep exactly…just move on and get ready for Sunday..I think maybe it’s going to be better for ASJ to get out of the NFL for awhile..get those demons out, get help, he’s obviously dealing with a lot of issues..Like the Chris Carter story…tough love Licht is giving him..

  18. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Hmmm..StPete…you said it better than I could have..maybe they were dealing with his issue behind the scenes, etc..

  19. DB55 Says:

I think the NFL should just cut the Bucs org and be done with this chit show. TB is like a minor league NFL team. TB is the developmental squad for the rest of the NFL. And it’s fans are the priests in charge of all that is righteous and pure. Makes me sick.

  20. 813bucboi Says:

i hope licht tried to trade him first…if not, i would’ve made him inactive for a few weeks just as lovie did last year….maybe they made the right decision….we’ll find out…GO BUCS!!!

  21. Bucs_UK Says:

He’s got everything expect the top 2 inches. Such a shame.

  22. Buc-a-Noles Says:

    @ DB55

If this was ASJ’s first time in the dog house then I might agree. But he is causing more harm than good with the team. He has all the talent to succeed, but he doesn’t have the heart or right motivation for it.

  23. Buc_The_World Says:

This sends a message to the team that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.

  24. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I would have voted no, but after watching the dash cam footage I think they had no choice.

  25. BigHogHaynes Says:

    WEAK WORLD CLASS COACHING STAFF!!

  26. BuccaneEric75 Says:

BigHog, are you rooting against Koetter now??

  27. Strider ....Sec 147 Says:

Blah a Dui I know the pain ASJ but you’re cut because a man in your position who makes X amount of dollars just threw it all alway for what happy hour in soho -_-
