No Selling Out In Practice For ASJ

September 11th, 2016
Trade winds blowing?

Jameis trusted him.

Yes, Joe has had issues with the play and the behavior of talented yet high maintenance tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. But no one can deny he works his rear end off in practice.

But in games, well, the results, at best, are mixed.

As Joe wrote earlier, ASJ began his road to career recovery when he sold out on a 30-yard pass play on a bomb from America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, on the first possession of the second half to give the Bucs a 31-13 lead.

On the play, ASJ dove out — sold out — to make sure not only he had separation but secured the ball.

Afterwards, ASJ noted he and Jameis practice that play each and every day, with the exception of selling out.

“Jameis threw me the perfect ball,” ASJ said. “Dive for a ball in practice? [Laughs] “Nah, I don’t do that” practicing that play. “I don’t make that play if [Jameis] doesn’t trust me.”

ASJ said Jameis told him more than once in the first half that he was going to go to that play when the time was right.

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo was stoked….Haboo to Henkins….wow! Pablo was concerned that Roberto might be tested in his first game. Pablo is a very happy man today along with JBF amigos”

I’m happy GMC & ASJ contributed to the win today……and who was it that said Charles Sims was a wasted pick?

Our Oline seemed to protect Jameis pretty wel and we ran well enough that the play action worked for us.

It is embarrassing to remember how unhappy I was when the Bucs drafted Sims!

Our o line held up enough today but the Falcons d line is weak, almost no pass rush.

Gonna need them big boys to step it up if we’re gonna beat the good teams. Open up some bigger holes for Martin so he’s not dancing sideways behind the LOS constantly.

I believe Lovie & Lichcts first draft includes 1. Mike Evans (TD), 2. ASJ (TD), 3. Charles Simms (TD) and Kevin Pamphile started too, seeing the last three drafts pay off

Just glad to know ASJ didn’t throw his shoulder out on that dive. That has been his MO the last few years.

Great day for the lads. Love seeing a Buc offense finally in attack mode.

Criticize ASJ’s maturity (and maybe it’s coming around) but never criticize his physical talents.

I’m glad the buccaneer organization don’t listen to The Joe’s because he would have been cut a long time ago sometimes you guys just need to be Sports writers or reporters and not Talent evaluators!!!!!!!!

    I told u fools!

    10 TD’s this year!!

    I love you Austin!

    TD’s for the the trifecta!

Mike Evans, ASJ, and Charles Sims all had touchdowns!!

    Killer picks!!

3rd year pros now, they arent little boys anymore.

I just hope we extend them all until their 30 years old each!

So they can play in their prime with Jamies!

And I told you guys Terrell Pryor would be a stud!

Lets sign him next offseason to replace V-Jax.

    Keep the twin towers together!
