Yes, the preseason for the NFL is officially over.
Hell no, Joe didn’t watch one play of one game last night. Joe did, however, watch real football. The App State-Tennessee game was compelling if not fun.
It is interesting, to stretch to the word, to try to find trends in preseason contests. Yes, the Bucs had a nice pass rush in three of the four preseason games. How nice? Well, the Bucs media relations staff dug up this nugget that should whet the appetite of all Bucs fans.
Tampa Bay registered 16 sacks this preseason. That matches a team high recorded only once: 2000. That was back in the glory days of Warren Sapp.
If that doesn’t get you excited for Sept. 11 when the Bucs travel to Atlanta, Joe doesn’t know what will.

Our starters looked good. Depth on D line might be the only depth we have.

Bucs also have depth with OL, DB’s and LB’s this year too. Pretty concerned about WR depth, though. That could come back to bite them in the ass this year.

Time to start scouring the waiver wires for another WR. There will be a team that has to let a good receiver go for whatever reason, and we need to be ready to pounce when they do.

Hopefully we can get Eric Striker on the practice squad. Would be interesting to see how DC Mike Smith – could use his skill set.
