The New Bucs

August 20th, 2016

Chats about the new Bucs.

Yes, things are different at One Buc Palace.

Some new coaches, some new players. Even a new vibe. To that end, Bucs running back Doug Martin discusses the changes with popular sports radio and television personality Adam Schein in this segment of “Time to Schein,” seen weeknights on CBS Sports Network.

    Schein is one of the few big name sportscasters that gets it. Lovie Smith was the problem with the Bucs. Scheming realizes the bucs have talent on defense. It was Lovie’s coaching and scheme that allowed a 70% completion rate. It was Lovie the win 8 games in two seasons and his vaunted defense just got worse. Dirk was the right move at the right time. And JW is going to be a huge star. Schein gets that, too.

    @jeff

    Are you the Buc Realist in disguise?……I do agree with you, however…

  3. Eric Says:

    We will find out soon enough if it was all Lovie’s fault.

    I hope Martin doesn’t change coming off monster year under Lovie….

    That’s a funny pic up top.

  5. Kobe Faker Says:

    Lovie is a terrible stubborn coach but lets not forget it was LOVIE who brought Jaboo here to tampa bay…TANK you very much Lovie

    ***Lovie would never had moved up in the 2nd round to get a kicker***

    “Move up in the 2nd round to get a kicker? Connor Barth did well and kicker was not a position of need. We need to stock more young talent playmakers in this team and let them grow with Jameis. Kicker? LOL” Clueless Lovie

    Lets be real here

  6. BigSombrero Says:

    @Eric I wouldn’t go giving much credit to Lovie for that seeing as Lovie was trying to “Jonathan Banks” Doug Martin too.

    Lovie wanted a Forte clone and Martin didn’t fit that. Luckily Mike Jenkins played corner and not rb or Doug Martin might not be in Tampa this season…

    @eric-

    I don’t see much evidence of lovie being involved in offensive decisions other than making it a little more conservative. Seemed that Kotter had his own on lockdown.

    If/when the Bucs “Kicker” wins a game with a last second 59 yard FG…Bucs fans will rise and Announce Bucs GM Jason Licht as best GM of all time.

    Truth is Licht didn’t need to take the heat of the Aguayo pick…but he did because unlike you (if this applies to you) Licht is a progressive thinking GM and understands the game is changing. With A QB driven league, and you have one of the good QBs, your going to have more trips into the Red Zone. With extra points being harder to kick, the kicker is going to make more of a difference now than ever, which is why so many kickers were fired last year.

    Knowing that the kicker position is a critical one now, you want to invest a high pick on a kicker that has the potential to be one of the greatest kickers of all time.

    Sure, nothing is guaranteed…Aguayo could be a bust, but so could the Safety or Wide Receiver taken with the same pick. It should make no difference the fact the player taken was a kicker, its just your outdated philosophy that says a kicker is not that valuable of a position.

    Remember that the next time a FG at a critical time is made or missed, how valuable that kicker was. The Kicker is the only player on the field who is SOLELY responsible for the teams points. Not even a QB can score points by himself!

    Yeah yeah yeah………..heard all this before when we switched coached.

    Fresh out of optimism.

    I wonder who the Bucs media, you readers.will blame once/IF..the losing starts again? The biggest problem of the Bucs is and always has been..impatience. We blame everybody..the coach (s), coaches sons, grandma & grandpa. But we never blame the poor play of our players. And that has been the problem..year end..year out. I betcha..after our 1st couple of losses, somebody here will blame a..Lovie Hangover!
    Alls I can say is You’d better win Mr. Koetter.
    I’ll believe in MY BUCS..once they SHOW ME..they can WIN…AMEN!

  11. BigMacAttack Says:

    If the Bucs start loser get again, the fault belongs solely to George W Bush.
