Redskins-Bucs On NFL Network

August 30th, 2016

nfl networkThe weather has thrown the Bucs and Redskins and NFL a curveball. Thus, the NFL is giving fans a solid.

Because the Redskins-Bucs game is the lone NFL preseason game tomorrow, NFL Network will broadcast the game live at 8 p.m.

However, a small catch: The game will be blacked out on the channel in the respective teams’ TV markets where local affiliates have the broadcast rights and will show the game.

So, locally, the game will still be broadcast on WFLA-TV Channel 8 with Chris Myers and Ronde Barber calling the game with dangerous Dan Lucas prowling the sidelines.

Man y’all fast I just heard the network broadcast that.

  2. Buccfan37 Says:

Good I enjoy Ronde’s take in the booth.

  3. Stpetebucsfan Says:

I’m lovin that since the NFL ticket on Direct doesn’t include pre season games.

I do not get back until October. Set for regular season games and now I get to see the final preseason game.

That final game is the last chance to see some of these guys until later this year or next year if they stick around. I enjoy watching the border line guys trying to cling to a job. Lots of great stories and plenty of sad ones too,.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Happy to get to see future….UPS drivers, Insurance Claims Adjusters, Hooters Cooks, Personal Trainers, High School Assistant Coaches & Sports Blog Writers….

  5. Mike Johnson Says:

Most of these guys playing Wed will not make the team. I bet our starters play one qtr..if that. Tough sled for a lot of these guys. This will be their final NFL Showcase. Many cuts coming up. The Bucs will claim a few guys off of waivers from other teams this weekend. Play your hearts out bubble players!

  6. STLBucFan4Life Says:

THANK YOU NFL NETWORK! Two weeks straight of seeing live games in the Lou…

Squeeze that ball tight in the rain boys. Time to BucUp and go win a job!

  7. Pickgrin Says:

MJ – our “starters” tomorrow night will be Mike Glennon handing off to Mike James and throwing to Russell Shepard and Kenny Bell. Koetter might put the starting OLine out there for a series or 2. But players like Winston, Martin, VJax, Evans, GMC, LD54 etc will probably not be playing at all.

  8. Pickgrin Says:

I’d rather hear Ronde’s insight than listen to BSPNs 3rd string announcers blather on incessantly about how improved the Redskins are all night anyway.

  9. Joe Says:

    Pigskin:

BSPN is not televising the game.

  10. Pickgrin Says:

Meant NFL Network Joe. and the handle is Pickgrin – not Pigskin. See – if you had an “edit” button you could have fixed it.

  11. celly Says:

    Bridgewater just went down…

If (and that’s a HUGE if) Glennon goes out there and plays lights out, maybe we can get something (anything) for him.

Hell, a straight trade of Glennon for Patterson would be good enough.

  12. Clodhopper Says:

Nice!!! I hope Barber is on the NFL broadcast. I haven’t heard him yet this preseason. Good luck with the hurricane/tropical storm, fellas!!

  13. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

D@$# I hope its not serious when comes to Teddy. Been watching him this pre season, he look like he was gonna take a step this season.

  14. Dick Butkiss Says:

It won’t be played. Weather will cancel it.

  15. celly Says:

    @NOSBOS…

Everything i’ve been seeing looks HORRIBLE so far. Just read that he was taken out in an ambulance. Coach cancelled practice after he got hurt. Players slammed their helmets into the ground.

he went down, clutching his knee. Non-contact injury.

  16. killamikep Says:

Anyone know if the Dallas game will be on locally since the Bucs game isn’t being played on Thursday?

  17. Bradinator Says:

Thank you Football Gods! Living out of market is tough enough in the pre-season. I know it’s only the fringe guys playing, but it still beats re-runs of “Mike and Molly” and “Tiny House Nation”.

  18. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Pickgrin

    I like Pigskin better……more of a “football” moniker……

  19. RustyRhinos Says:

I am a BIG fan of what JoeBucsFan gives me in the nonstop world of Buccaneer football incite. But it is growing tiresome for me, seeing political add(s) on this site, yes I understand paying the bills I do. But I can not and will not continue to look at the adds for political partie(s). Oh that is right I am only seeing the Republican adds, no Democrats, no Libertarian, no Green party. Is this a snafu? Or is this by design?
I personally will NEVER vote R or D again. In my fifty years of being a proud American, I have grown tired very tired of the R & D partys, to me they have not gotten along well enough to help ALL of the citizens of our country in a long long time. It is always one way or the other It is either all my way or all nothing. Sad, very sad. Our name is the UNITED States, not the one-sided states. It is my view that I hope our elected leaders are able to re-asses their ability to reach across the isles, and sometimes agree to disagree so that legislation goes forward with the whole countries best interest as their point of interest.
So ends my Rant. Please offer all political partie(s) adds or offer none, to us the viewership of this awesome blog. Thanks!

    Go Bucs!

Ads are ads. There is plenty of other stuff to look at. Joe’s national ad partners deliver all kinds of ads here.–Joe

    @pickgrin
Pretty sure “pigskin” was without malice. But all of us could benefit from an edit option.

  24. Bob in Valrico Says:

Wish this was a regular season game.I just started to read Strouds article
complete with Cousins “You like That!” quote and reminding me that we could have won the game if timid Lovie had gone for 7 instead 3. I am PO’ed all over again. Some people have got a lot to say about the Glazers and Licht, but the truth be told is:they put thousands of Bucs fans out of their misery with their decision to replace Lovie.

  25. orlbucfan Says:

Not just an edit option needed, but proofreading before posting also helps. Can’t begin to tell you all how FRUSTRATING it gets to read an excellent/informative comment, but I have to scratch my head and copy edit the #### thing so I can fully understand it. I read these comments to get more educated about the sport as well as plenty of laffs and yuks about our team. 🙂 Go Bucs In The Slop Tonite!!
