Meaningless 4th-Quarter Fire From Jameis, V-Jax

What was Jameis doing in this JoeBucsFan.com photo?

During the fourth-quarter of Thursday’s preseason game, Joe spent a majority of the time studying the movements of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

(Yes, Joe watched the entire game on TV a second time on Friday.)

Jameis was remarkably into the game in that fourth quarter, and the photo above is of Jameis huddled with his fellow QBs around their position coach, Mike Bajakian. They’re all watching video on a fancy tablet and Vincent Jackson is in the mix.

It was a pretty impressive display by V-Jax and Jameis, two guys who could have been relaxing and watching future furniture movers, science teachers and Hostess delivery drivers play football.

But no, V-Jax and Jameis were acting like it was the fourth quarter of a key December game.

And then Dirk Koetter joined the huddle and something changed quickly. Jameis and V-Jax simultaneously stood up straight and starting getting into a passionate conversation that appeared to be about Xs and Os. Arms were flailing and pointing.

Eventually, the discussion ended with both nodding in agreement. Then it was back to the benchside huddle.

The more one studies Jameis, the more impressive he appears.

The Bucs are tremendously lucky to have this kid. The suck out loud team happened again at the perfect time.

Looks like that hit from Awe broke wentz’s ribs. Ouch!

  5. Ocala Says:

I was wondering if it was when Jadevion Elliot knocked Wentz head over heals that caused it when he hit the ground on that run.

They weren’t watching video, Joe. They were reading comments on your open thread post. Vjax was upset Chad from Largo thinks he’s old and slow, and Jameis was telling him not to worry, he’s got Vjax’s back and will get him the ball. Then Dirk came over and told them to cut it out, that Jameis ain’t doing anything except handing off to Martin and Sims and throwing to Humphries on 3rd down.

    @theodore, hilarious!

    Unrelated:
NFL reporting Carson Wentz suffered fractured rib last night.

Guess we got some nasty in our D again!

There is just something about this team that makes me think we can be dangerous this year. However that is only if we stay healthy. Otherwisne our backups will struggle because our depth is good but not great. One preseason game does not scare me. I think this team is improving and has the chemistry and juice you need to win.

Great find by the way Joe. I love the passion you and your staff have for covering the Buccaneers.

Let me tell ALL of you something…way after the game ended..I went to read the open comments..all 399 of them..it was HYSTERICAL..it went from sheer excitement to night terror type posts..it was up and down..I was laughing so hard..

Some of you are so funny..lol…

I really hope we see another team on Saturday. Jacksonville is a talented team and Bkake Bortles is a legit gun slinger. I wanna see a close match in the first quarter in all 3 phases at the worst. This will be a great measuring stick

Good stuff there Joe, love reading little nuggets like that. Showe how much Jamies really cares about his job and teamates. Every other starting QB would be on the bench shooting the sh*t with his teamates.

And I excited to see out 2 young n promising FL teams go at it, I see a rivalry brewing in the future between these two, call it the “sunshine state showdown” bringing respect back to the FLA like the old days. It’s been a very long time since both of these teams have been repectable. Prob have to go back when our HC and DC were runnin the show in JAX. And a guy by the name of M.Brunnel was QB lol man i feel old.

This offense is going to put up a ton of yards. Red zone production will be key. We’ll probably have the best screen game in the league. And Martin has that same look so I expect him to be in the running for the rushing title again tho season. I’m predicting the best Bucs offense we’ve ever seen. Should be fun to watch.

Stalking, Joe. It’s called stalking. 😂

  17. Trubucfan22 Says:

They are doing all the right things in practice and off the field. But they are making too many mistakes on gameday. I hope they can clean it up in time for week 1 against the Falcons. Penalties are a hard thing to overcome, if we can cut those down we will automatically be a better than last season. Our boys need to play cleaner football.

BigPoppaBuc…Yea one of the most things I’m excited about is Sims/Martin on the screen. Might have to invest in a Sims jersey sometime in the near future
