  3. Bucsfaninchina Says:

That bye week 5 couldnt come at a better time… yikes

  4. Bucsfaninchina Says:

    6*

  5. University of Seffner Says:

Awesome to be back on Monday Night Football. Although it’s gonna suck playing the Carolina Panthers (not surprised).

  6. The Buc Realist Says:

For the first time in years, I am not going,,,,Thats a loss, Thats a loss!!! So excited for this year!!!! Hard schedule, But I expect the Bucs to play smart and hard!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!

  7. DallasBuc Says:

Sucks that our division plays the both conference West divisions. Lots of long travel.

  8. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

    16-0

  9. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

3 of the last 5 on the road….kind of blows

  10. DallasBuc Says:

Realist- I don’t think it is that hard of a schedule especially when you consider that we have a head coach and coordinators that will have the team prepared to play week in and week out.
We should win a lot this year.

  11. Rod Munch Says:

When the Bucs are 1-4 going into the bye I wonder how many fans are going to be calling for a new head coach.

  12. Tampa Tony Says:

    2 prime time games, nice

    Now let’s win some games

  13. Tampa Tony Says:

1-4 would be very Lovie like

I think Rams and Falcons are very winnable games. Broncos traveling east with a new qb so who knows…

Loser Lovie is gone Bucs got a chance every week

  14. bucsfaninchina Says:

Rams kicked our ass last year. Not a fun game to watch

  15. DB55 Says:

1-4 would be schiano like. If we lose each game by 40 points then it would be Lovie like.

  16. DB55 Says:

    I see 8-9 wins.

  17. finishers Says:

    7 at best

  18. Steve Says:

We got a Monday night game??? Alright! Showing the bucs some love finally

  19. Architek Says:

Nasty open to the season but should give a good view of the team toughness early on, very excited about the schedule!!!!

  20. Steve Says:

4 straight on the road scares me.

  21. Bucballya Says:

Well I certainly hope that we are much improved this year, cause this schedule seems to be very tough. wow. frequent flyer miles for sure

  22. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Too true DB55. Loser lovie loses by lots

  23. Tampa Tony Says:

    Steve- you are drunk

  24. Tampa Tony Says:

Bucs only have 2 in a row at anytime on the road.

Denver, Oakland, Seattle and St Louis all come east so the travel evens itself out

  25. Dewey Selmon Says:

2-3 before the bye, 5-6 after the bye. 7-9 this schedule is brutal. But will be a spring board for 2017.

  26. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Much tougher schedule at first glance than last season. Tough opening five, and a tough homestretch. Going to hold off on the predictions and dial back the fanatic optimism. That said, Go Bucs!

  27. Rod Munch Says:

Hate the 2 national games are against Carolina and Atlanta, outside of the Rams they’re the two most boring teams on the schedule and Tampa always plays like garbage in Carolina, that will be a terrible game to watch and the Carolina stadium is just a boring dull place to see games broadcast from, but at least it’s not the national TV games from that God awful dome in Atlanta, I’ll be happy when that this meets the wrecking ball.

  28. HIRE JIMBO Says:

    12-4
    Lose to
    Cardinals
    Broncos
    Seahawks
    Panthers.

  29. Capt Blighe Says:

Wow before the bye looks like a tough way to start.
Oh and the rams still have Aaron Donald so no !

For the first time in years, I am not going,,,,Thats a loss, Thats a loss!!! So excited for this year!!!! Hard schedule, But I expect the Bucs to play smart and hard!!!!!!

ME TOO!!!! I kept saying WIN, that’s a WIn and another WIN..and then I get tweets from Kwon and the other bucs busting at the seems..wanting to play like now!

And Joe, your opening paragraph..so freaking funny..football hating girlfriend?

What about husband and boyfriend hating football! I am a football widow!!

  31. SOEbuc Says:

This is lookin tough. Especially the first five and last 4. I like how the falcons, saints, and bucs are in the top five for toughest schedules (team wins last year). You think the NFL wants Carolina in SB again?

  32. William Walls Says:

I see us being a much better team compared to the competition than most might think. People also have a strong tendency to think of teams in terms of how they played last year, and that leads to poor projections. How many times have we seen Super Bowl teams inexplicably fall apart the following season? (Including our own 2003 Buccaneers)

If there’s one year where judging teams based on the previous year is misleading, I think this upcoming season is it. I think the Panthers will crack under the pressure to duplicate last season’s success, and I think the Broncos will be a shadow of their 2015 selves. I think the NFC South is available for the taking, and we’re as capable as any other team in the division, and in the second half of next season, I expect the Bucs to be one of the top-ten teams in the NFL and rising.

I’m expecting playoffs this year, with the potential to go deep.

  33. Rrsrq Says:

Week 1 – Bucs vs. Mike Smith former team
Week 2 – Bucs vs. Jason Like former team
Week 3 – Bucs vs. Rams (that might as well be a division game)
Week 4 – Bucs vs. Mike Glennon’s new team

  34. Bucsjunkie Says:

I see the Bucs getting a little bit of respect with this schedule. I love it!

  35. Rrsrq Says:

    *Jason Licht

  36. DB55 Says:

Rams vs Bucs is THE game. I really really really hope Ali Marpet got this game circled. It’s payback time! Next time AD_99 puts his hands on The Messiah somebody needs to break his hands.

  37. Defense Rules Says:

First 5 teams we play this year had a 55-25 combined record last year. Far cry from the 39-41 record the first 5 teams that we played last year had. Cardinals, Broncos and Panthers all had top defenses last year and look like they’ll repeat that this year. Jameis and the offense will have their hands full to start off the season. Schedule looks like it gets a tad easier after the Bye, but you never know. Sure do hope that Mike Smith gets out defense running on all 8 cylinders before the season starts.

  38. Couch Fan Says:

I see us as 2-3 going into the bye and 10-6 overall, if we beat the teams we are suppose to beat. Falcons x2, Saints x2, Rams, 9ers, Raiders, Bears, Chargers, Cowboys. All winnable games. They might even surprise us and knock off a few good teams. In Jameis I trust!!

  39. M It Smyth Says:

At first hash, the schedule always looks daunting to me. What you have to remember is that playoff teams from the year before, sometimes they play really bad the next season. Carson Palmer pooped his pants in the playoffs last year, Cam Newton pooped the bed in the Super Bowl. Sometimes that stuff sticks in their heads. Remember that Carolina was very mediocre the year before last. Denver is not the same team that won the Super Bowl. If the Bucs can hit the bye week at 3-2, look out. I think they will come out of the bye and go on a run. They need to because the end of season schedule looks tough but you never know. If the Bucs have another good to great draft the Bucs will absolutely shock some teams especially early in the year. Need a WR or two and a couple pieces on defense and the Bucs can run with anyone. This team will no longer play the “Cover Who” defense the Lovie crammed down everyone’s throats. If Mike Smith still has it we will know early and so will the rest of the league. For a change I’m actually hopeful….

  40. Please Says:

If we aren’t 0-4 into the bye, we’ll make the playoffs. (*If nobody substantial gets injured in those games)

  41. turk182 Says:

Playing the Rams in September! There is a reason this is my goto Bucs info site.

  42. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

5th toughest schedule in the NFL

  43. Espo Says:

I’m tired of these early bye weeks. I think they give late bye weeks to teams expected to make the playoffs .

  44. Tackleblockwin Says:

Tough schedule. Win 7+ and grow as a team on both sides of ball.

  45. Seminole Bill Says:

Thank the football gods that we don’t have a home game at 1 PM until October 30th. I was seriously thinking of giving up my tickets after sweating through 1 PM home games in September. Now I can ‘sweat’ through the first two games away.

  46. Tampa Tony Says:

Strength of schedule is based off last year Carolina isn’t going 15-1 again playing them twice inflates the sos big time.

  47. ARGH_M8E Says:

    Fuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  48. Tbbucs3 Says:

This is a good schedule for us, the best teams we play are within the first 5 weeks and then nothing but winnable games after the bye week. We can still compete with teams like the Broncos and Cardnials. Goal should be to sweep the Saints and Falcons and beat the panthers once.

  49. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

A Monday Night, Thursday Night, and Saturday day game is very nice. That’s about it. The NFC South got screwed as a whole this year. Having to play the NFC West and AFC West is a killer. The only other good thing is we play Atlanta and the Saints twice. That is 4 games we should be able to win. The Rams could be good, who knows about the 49ers. The Bears and Dallas should be wins as well. And, San Diego could be good or could be like last season. A couple of questionable games.

I see us winning 8 games, possibly 9. 7 to 9 wins is the range we will be in. I think 8-8 should be the mark they set to try to achieve. Anything over that puts us close to playoff range. Depending on how our draft goes could change everything. We have to get Jameis another toy at WR. Another tackle would help out a ton as well. And everyone knows what we need on D. Help on all 3 levels. LOL

I love the direction we are going and can’t wait. 2 more weeks baby!! Its getting so close, its still so nerve racking.

  50. Capt. Tim Says:

This Team cant buy a break.
Brutal schedule, and they spred out West coast road trips, so that you never recover.
Unless Jameis becomes dominant in year 2( thats asking alot)
    We win 7 games.

And blame a couple of those losses on schedule.

  51. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Since the Rams went all in to get the #1 pick. I am truly a fan of trading down with Tennessee. The connection to Robinson is a blessing. We are in different divisions. So, why not help out your best friend, while helping yourself at the same time. I would gladly drop down to #15, if we get to add pick #43. Pick 33 would be amazing, but I doubt they will let that one go.

Trade Glennon for a 3rd rounder. That would give us 2 picks in the 2nd and 3rd round. That can be great trade bait or 4 starters, if we draft the right guys. Which I truly believe Licht will do.

We can get Ogbah at #15. Then draft a WR (Boyd 2nd), Safety (TJ Greene 2nd), LB (Deion Jones 3rd), CB (Sean Davis 3rd), and OT (Shon Coleman 4th or Caleb Benenoch 4th). Or we could pick 2 DE’s. Ogbah in the 1st and Nassib in the 3rd would be a huge upgrade. And give us a bright future on the DL.

    Come on Draft Day!!!

  52. Dave Says:

Some of you act like some of this is a surprise.
Do you realize the divisions they play outside their own rotate every year? Other than 2 games I can tell who they play every year forever assuming no expansion or realignment.

Anyway, I see 8-9 wins. If they get a pass rush, they can go higher.

  53. JMN Says:

Thursday night vs Atlanta = PTSD

  54. Patrick in VA Says:

As tough as this schedule looks, and it is ugly, the rest of our division is facing similar schedules. We may not be able to escape this schedule without our share of Ls but all we have to do is be better than the rest of the division. I think it can be done. Not a given by any means, but I think that purging the Lovie philosophy from the building, the steady flow of Jameis influence and the new talent we’re going to be getting should be a vast improvement.

  55. 813bucboi Says:

    let the games begin….GO BUCS!!!

  56. kraymuthaphukinglocz Says:

if e can win those first 5 games I think we have a chance
